Been around horses all my life,my grandfather trained,his sons rode as amatuer and professionals till weight issues etc.Dad has trained for 20yrs or so his own horses as a hobby,and is one of a few who can say they have owned,trained,bred and ridden a winner,most people can't say they have ridden a winner but can do the rest,to me that is amazing. My kids have a slight interest in grandads horses,and their mums side was into harness,we had a share in a harness,but never got to the races so that is my net result of part ownership,although am looking to be involved with a couple dad has.

It is sensationalism ,not journalism and adds ammo to the twats wanting to ban jumping.Maybe the said twats in Melbourne can be given the rifles to put down the horses to slow to be on the flat but able to jump the option of shooting said horses,might wake them up. Jumping has a place,but not every horse will return home sad facts,but that also is true for trackwork and racing.

Just thinking if anyone can recall a couple of things happening as in first 2 races at Hawera today. Both the winner and last place horses were trained by same trainer in following races,Davey Jones race 1 and Keith Chittenden, race 2 and both trainers drove the last horses. May happen with larger stables but these two have small teams.

Didn't see race live,watched replay today,3 and 4 place horses wide apart,and when called were close with camera angle,and after the post. Hell human error is not punishable by death,and I guess we've all f.cked up huh?
