Shad got a reaction from Zakhu in RaceCafe Tips Thread Updated Daily
Good to see a tip given out on breeding, I always like the breeding side of horses, looked at one on Saturday on breeding, the dam just rung a bell for some reason, didn’t take it but went a great race, Line Dancer,, was paying 96 an 20, after looking back at its breeding was a same family as Texas Dolly and Sassy Merlot.

Shad reacted to Zakhu in Lisa out for a while
Great to Lisa Allpress back at the trials today at Foxton. A couple of winners as well. Hope to see her back raceday soon. A champion jockey in every essence of the word.

Shad got a reaction from Gruff in Is The RIB Worth The Cost
He’s his agent the rumour I heard, needs to brush up though, thought he’d be familiar which stable he’s working for.

Happens, punter forgets, when they drop back to their right grade, with no form.

Shad reacted to Idolmite in Trackside Presenters
And wasn't it all great fun. Being on the road, putting on a bet in one town and stopping a couple of hours later to see how it'd gone (or a little radio coverage if you were lucky) and load up on something else with the winnings. I'm pretty sure it was 90 minutes, and maybe a little longer when the likes of doubles came along?

Geez don't let the H&S folk see them doing that work up there without scaffold!

Gruff n tumble been happening for some years now, remember the days of a tight finish, they’d wait for the judges call and you’d know your fete, these days occasionally you’ll see a quick clip of the photo, more often than not now they move on to the next at Timbuktu, and you wait some time for the result, definitely a backward step, even with all the tech available,

Certainly no excuses these days , ya remember the days of the old tote bands, and the balloon would go up when tote closed, the judges would hang the placing numbers, from the judges box, The old handwritten carbon copy tab tickets, the good ole days. Certainly showing my age, a rusty old relic from a bygone era,

Yes not the first time the integrity of the integrity unit has been call into question on this site, guess many will make their own judgements, the more you read the more convinced you get.

Shad reacted to We're Doomed in Additional Riccarton turf meeting 16 June
While on the subject of Riccarton, I notice the Anne Herbert race was won by a horse owned and breed by Toni Croon, who Anne used to train for. Very appropriate I thought, and paid good money as well.

Shad reacted to Dopey in Canterbury Belle - 1985 ELDERS Handicap win (now Stradbroke)
Given its Stradbroke weekend ... remembering CANTERBURY BELLE and her Elders Handicap win in 1985.
LINK to Youtube: Fast forward to 38:27 Canterbury Belle (Elders Handicap) AND 41:16 Dave Kerr (trainer of Canterbury Belle) with Jan.
A great interview by Dave as always.
Canterbury Belle's win is quite possibly the last South Island trained GROUP 1 winner in Australia? need someone to check.

Shad reacted to Gruff in Sad end to a champ West Coast
Thats life unfortunately, similar to the Joys of Surfing... you cant get attacked by a Big Fish or head butt the reef sitting on the Couch. Im sure this Horse lived the life intended and was loved and looked after accordingly. Thanks to all who helped produce this great Talent.RIP

Real sad, but he was doing wat he loved albeit with 72kg, these things just happen sometimes not always on the racetrack, many succumb just in the paddock as well

Shad reacted to Ripples in Race 3 New Plymouth
Hi Scooby, first up you do an awesome job managing this site, whilst I don't agree with some of the posters, in the instance of Jools if she cuts the name calling and capital letters crap out she does raise a couple of valid points, to be fair Ive seen worse on this site. I know its flavour of the month to rubbish her and she (or he) is probabaly not the type I would have a beer with but I would hate to see her banned unless she crosses the line of common decency.
