Why not there Gruffalo, good horses can be bred bred from any mare regardless of,  some of the best bred broodmares can often leave nothing, not sure if the wind issue would be hereditary, apart from that can see why she wouldn’t be successful, had a few wind issues myself, but hasn’t stopped me breeding, wether  I’ve been a success is debatable.

SPCA were right behind the banning of greyhound racing - horse racing will be next when it suits them.
Will SPCA be there for the 1000+ dogs next month!? Or just euthanize them? The dogs would be safer with their trainers!

I guess a classic case of those doing the job don’t know what there looking for, remember many year ago my uncle a battling owner trainer was a tad late renewing his training license, they were going to fine him 100$, his reply I won’t bother, then I’ll have more money for lotto an keano, nothing more said.

Interesting for me is that trainer licenses probably given out quite freely, one would think from time to time there would stable or welfare checks on a random basis, I would have thought it would be a condition on a license holder.

Oh you boys taking the proverbial…give the fella a break, for a man that’s trained 60  odd winners 160 odd placings, The Fiery ginga won 17 races, driven most of them as well, when most on here probably never even lead one up the garden path.In all fairness think he deserves some respect, as harness racing be a lot poorer without him.

The ole story you can only judge on your experience, I have a mate that has a horse with them, and he quite often shows me the update and news, on the horse, some of the comments here are interesting, and your not going to please everyone all the time.

    Here is a legend……👏

Yes you read that correctly Race six at Riccarton Park today was incredibly Terry Moseley's 18,000th raceday ride!
Over four decades in the saddle, 1,312 wins, 3,099 placings and 52 black-type victories - Terry you are a legend!

Insider, like you have had a number over the years and currently have shares in three with Te Akau and have had friends take shares in the same three horses, again with some having raced a number previously with various stables.
We have a rising 4yo, a rising 3yo and a rising 2yo so one each of the last three years. All three are currently in work at Matamata.
The overwhelming consensus from everyone is the communication is second to none. Every Monday morning a video comes through of each horse being trotted up with trainers comments on how it is doing and what is coming up in the way of work, jump outs, trials etc. During the week we may also get another video sent through of the horse on the training track with trainers comments and plans, video's of any jump outs. Pre race information and post race report shortly after a race.
Just tonight we had videos sent through of them working at the track confirming jump out dates, trial dates and one race date next month all going well for one. So we are kept right up to date with each horse and can see the work and planning that goes into each one. Hence what prompted me to reply to your post.
A couple we met through ownership who live in Taranaki came up a couple of weeks ago and went over to see the horses and they paraded them, nothing was too much trouble and it's been that way throughout.
From our perspective and speaking with the others our experience with Te Akau has been one of positivity and having the enjoyment of racing a horse which is the primary reason for being involved.
Like owners everywhere we are looking forward to the new season with hope and expectation for our runners and enjoying the excitement of racedays with the other owners.
Best of luck to everyone who is in ownership of such beautiful animals.

Yes , and after costs i.e. training and such , overall 300+k has been spent on this mare .
I never got in for the money , and no one should , but they hammered the enjoyment out of it , especially MW with his belligerent attitude , he has absolutely no respect for little owners , got introduced to him once , he couldn't have cared less and literally just walked away , this is something I have been told as well by other owners .
Some really nice people who raced numerous horses said that Jamie Richards always answered their calls or got back to them , literally nada with MW , far too important for that shit .

Heck sounds like the local councils these days, plenty meetings behind closed doors, not for the ratepayers to know about, one local council had audit, then redacted, parts of it for the ratepayers, who funded the whole process, a wrought in my eyes.
