  1. Yes there certainly been some great performers over the years, some of the other Nairn trotters, started careers on the coast, even the mighty armalight and our mana won there first races at Westport, just trying to recall if new age man won over there, I know the tough nut certainly did

Very sad on Paul's passing, he will be certainly missed, and his support of all the smaller clubs in the south with his horses, his late father Ray trained some very good performers, brutus and scotch mist come to mind, both by Balios, scotch mist may have one a Concorde,
  5. Certainly a tough one, and can understand your thinking, but there is worse crime out there, and we know what it is, even the worse offenders eventually end up with a second chance
  6. The fiery ginga must have won 17 odd races and I think from memory Mr Clarke drove him to those wins.
  7. Can't beat that euphoria of a win, that feeling and buzz is a feeling like nothing else, I guess the question here is how far ones goes to achieve it, having had a horse that won 7 races I celebrated each one. In my book everyone deserves a second chance, and let's hope he is treated no different.
  8. Certainly be game living in that village, a murder every week.
  9. Just a wee one to wet the whistle should be ok, I knew a friend who reckon he never mowed his lawn, he'd sprinkle beer all over it, I asked how that would work, he replied, it would come up half cut, all the best for the festive season to all cafers, I may go to the coast trots, a rough tip would be helpful, or they'll give me the trots.
  10. He certainly fleeced them.
  11. What's with all the trot meeting in the south island, be a struggle to get full fields for xmas meetings one would think.
  12. Certainly surprised by the very light sentence, guilty plea or not, now had this happened to a owner trainer or other, would the same sentence apply, we've seen some hefty suspensions in the past for the poor old battlers and part timers, I'm sure if this had occurred 30 odd years ago, I'd say a hefty sentence would have been handed down.
  13. His dam was a horse call coolibah girl, who broke down at wingatui, but managed to be saved for breeding, not so lucky a very good preformed horse fiesta point broke down badly in the same race, he suffered a worse fate, I happened to witness both those horses in the same race, fiesta point was was out in front of the crowd, very sickening to see.
  14. Thanks for that, it was certainly some time ago, I wasn't to far wrong, not sure wether Damien Browne is still riding, last I heard he was in Australia.
  15. Thanks will look into it, think I've only had the one in my lifetime, sounds like one to many
  16. Many years ago I had a horse sorted to back on the coast, had watched it trial a few times, and thought it was cherry ripe, unfortunately got away from the rider galloped a lap of the track flat tack, I thought thats the end of his chances, cancelled my bet, only to watch in horror, it bolted in, paid 16s I think, was by golden elder, never won another race, from memory it name was elvis, from that day a mate never let's me forget that story, he said he was fine after that extra lap, he was just all shook up, took that story to the grave with him, my mate that is.
  17. Wish id known this about 20 years ago, would like to know the issue with them.
  18. Been following a mr fabulous last few starts, has had a change of trainer, to be fair hasn't showed much, and disappointing again today, but in his defense has been ridden rough last three starts, being caught 3 wide wnd worked from poor draws, I'm hoping he may get a better draw in his next start, only for the brave though.
  19. Even zed, dragged him back from serving station hacks down south, and look at his record since, think st reims spent his last days on the same station.
  20. Thanks everyone for the explanation, I thought it may have been a takeaway shop, I didnt want to ruffle any feathers.
  21. Always wonder about Tony's home of the happy chicken in his commentary, what it refers to, has always kept me guessing, if someone out there can enlighten me.
  22. Looks like the whistleblower is certainly being made an example of,what's the point, no one seems to care about covid now, unless the powers that be have something to hide, why would they even bother.
  23. Brings back the memory of the other ex kiwi horse to win it ablaze, left nz with 5 wins an 90k in the bank, ended up around the 700k mark at the end of his career, go the kiwis
  24. We seen this happen a few times over the years, I presume the same happened to Kevin Payne and Davy McDonald Jason Teaz to name a few more, and one can't help but feel so sad about the situation, after hearing their voices for so long, they've been all part of the game so many of us love, wish him and ones before, all the best for the future, and thanks for the memories, I'll never forget Jason calling our horse home on a miserable wet wingatui day, which from memory was his birthday, still remains firmly kept on my sky, and never had grown tired of watching it, and Jason's commentary,
  25. Yes reminds me of a nz horse I've followed, half of nothing, and yes a very good horse or deep pockets to survive in the lucky country, they sure know how to charge, last one I had in nz finished racing in 2020, and was 200$ a month for 10%.
