  1. Every dog has its day they say, hopefully it's his turn soon, but then sometimes staying in your grade and getting a return frequently can be much better than struggling in the r65 grade if you win a race and go up, I talked myself out of taking justaskpercy today, only the long divvy that caught my attention, been out of form for sometime and hadn't won a race for a long time, but that's horses make a fool of you when you least expect it, 61 fixed odds, hurts ya.

Crazy that 50% of his finishes have been 2nd, 3rd or 4th.

Always reminds me of Tortuff the old pacer from the late 90s who took over 100 starts to break through

Remember Kelly Evander, and her trainer B O'connor, had something like 150 plus starts for 2 placings, a very patient trainer but the reward never came, can't fault his dedication.

Given the way National are behaving [or not behaving] I am predicting that they will be a one term government, which is unheard of in NZ for a very long time.

I guess time will tell, certainly not giving handing out the cash left right and centre like the previous government,  but the people will decide in the long run.

On a quiet Sunday racing and betting at Addington do we really need a choice of 45 meetings ? (including Korea/Japan?/usa?/every Aus state.) just asking .... am only right bout 50%of time😂

Racing certainly has been at saturation point for many years now, trying to stretch the punting dollar further, but many of us have a limit, mainly local product, for me, occasionally a bet on  big meets in Australia, hard enough keeping up with the local form, let alone bothering with a bet in timbuktu or there other, so it's a no from me John, those meetings a dead loss in my opinion.

  5. Well hopefully with the change and technology, the odds don't change when the race has closed, I like roughies, and get peeved when I take one at 60s just before race, then when races closes you see them change to 80s, sure you don't get many of those divs come in,, but it shouldn't be like that, when you've go no show of getting the longer odds, days of the balloon going up an the tote balanced are only a faint memory.

  6. The horses have won a few battles over the years as well, and some not anything to do with mistreatment, some are just dangerous full stop, so i guess if your have one, deal with it or take your chance, and some have, with not good outcomes.

  7. Fair call your opinion, but so easy for people that didnt witness it, an so many comment and then all of a sudden its escalated to horse bashing, I don't agree with it, but I don't enjoy reading when fired up horses take off uncontrollably with young riders that are left with life threatening injuries or worse, who's to blame then, and let's face it breaking in a horse is a critical step in their careers, happened to be oncourse few years back, when a maiden runner couldn't even get around the corner went arse over the outside fence in horrific fall, I couldn't see how the rider would survive, but thank God by a miracle he did, with minimal injuries, don't be sorry, we are all just expressing our thoughts, that's what it's all about, after all.

  8. Guess you'd have to witness it first hand the extended it, but had he been unable to control it, got thrown and life threatening injuries or death, or even a young less experienced jockey down the track, we'd passing on sympathy and sadness, then who's to blame, seems no such thing as an accident these days, someone must be held accountable, and have the book thrown at them,

  9. Guess there another way of looking at it, we've seen some catastrophic injuries or worse from uncontrollable horses over the years, and no doubt there's some wild ones out there, that will kick like a mule and bite like a crocodile, ,sometimes it can self preservation, not to say I agree with it, but the world we live in will not allow this these days, as the same applies with children, there's  no discipline full stop, certainly was no shortage of it when I was young fella, did it do me harm, no, but that's just my thoughts.

That’s exactly why I would love to see him do it, come the first Tuesday in November.
Oh what a ride they are on.

Would be great to see, obviously very patient owners and want to play the Long. game so to speak, a lot of water under the bridge before the cup, hopefully he stays sound in mean time, but imagine that if he was to win, bred owned and trained in nz, been along time between drinks.
