  1. I know how he feels as it hurts like hell for it to happen to any dog but what is going to the papers going to achieve? And why didn't he get so involved before now ?? Brings a bad light to the sport . Yes it does happen we all know this and I would say all clubs try to fix the problems. I feel that the meeting on Monday should not have gone ahead and I think that people who read the tracks need more knowledge to make the calls they do.
  2. Pat on the back to the owners stood there ground and had a say for there dog. Fully support them, why was it the owner and not the trainer ? I don't have a clue what went on so really can't say but does this dog get a stand down? It shouldn't but what happens next , apart from what was in the report on the race there was nothing else so really we are all in the dark on this .
  3. Southern lights is the dog and yes it has been with Bruce Dann. Very nice dog has anyone offered to buy it ? And everyone would want to watch a 7 dog field of true c5 dogs before any other race that's got nothing to do with the downgrade rule rather the racing board discussion I think someone correct me if I'm wrong. As an owner and a punter I like the downgrade rule .
  4. i think you will find it is because the Auckland cup heats are on . Can I ask why your dog didn't go up ?
  5. So now they are not bothered about the owners? Ok cool story .everyone gets paid anyway but what I'm saying is it's peanuts compared to the value of a greyhound.i do read the reports and when you have more dogs you are bound to have more scratching.
  6. No not new to the game at all , have owned dogs off and on for a number of years and enjoy every minute of it.I think you will find every trainer is out to win and set there dogs for the race. $40 is not an incentive to run your dog in a race, it's a token gesture and probably only covers cost of getting to the track. What you are saying is trainers will race just to get this fit or not fit that is laughable as I no what a greyhound is worth
  7. Lol we all love the names other give ourselves on this site . I don't really care who the trainers are or what any other trainer does but I'll tell you this much , no trainer would start a dog if it was not well, why would they ?? They are there to make money and if a dog is unwell it cannot earn or will not earn in future weeks after a run . I no a bit about a vets job and I can tell you there are signs a dog is sick and it wouldn't take a genius to work them out .
  8. I'm sure they don't go and check vehicles. I've seen a few different vets check dogs and also no a sick dog when handling one. they smell kinda funky so I'm sure the vet there can smell or see a sick dog and would not be putting threw to race if this was the case . Also if they had a feeling they would be checking it's temperature have seen this done in the past. As for the question you failed to answer how do some people get away with it ?dont understand
  9. Thanks for replying this time . Ok so the dogs in question from their kennels where in fact sick after they had come out of the kennel block . They first must have been past fit to race by the on track vet , and then became sick this could happen so the right thing was done to scratch the dog yes ? Your second post re how do they get away with it I don't understand? Who you start a sick dog ?
  10. I asked last time you posted about dogs on the drip but no reply? I don't think any kennel comes up with a bug to give to there dogs and they were not the first trainers to have there dogs stood down with the bug that's going round at the moment so not to sure what your getting at .
  11. No sure what you are getting at ? If a dog is not right then why start it ? And from what I see they are winning there fair share of races .
  12. I know

    Two up

I notice this dog was scratched Monday at wanganui from race 5 yet from what I can see it didn't receive a stand down but raced tonight? Maybe I'm wrong but I couldn't see it anywhere. Nice Little sprinter
  13. You should have a go for the new position.
  14. if it was true they passed a dog fit to race they wasn't actually fit to race . Then yes . But very hard to believe that has happened.
  15. Of course it would be. Any serious injury is never good regardless of the money paid.
  16. I was always under the impression that you could only use the injury clause the first time.
  17. From what I'm told it will not affect your dog downgrading.
  18. Totally different kettle of fish so to speak. Who knows you strike me as someone who likes to stir for whatever reason. I've known Jason for a long time and would never put him in the same category as the "other" ex license holder.
  19. Who are you guys talking about? Who in there right mind would start a dog if they thought it was sick ? I would have thought the vet would not have passed it fit to race so very hard to believe.
  20. Cambridge, Diva pose, crying in Vegas.Chch Can't catch tim
  21. Because they made the decision yes ?
  22. It can be changed and has done in the past
  23. What dogs does this Gary Ryan race ? And skuzi wins I think very nice dog
  24. I know

    Cobalt

From what I have been told they do not test greyhound for it in nz
  25. It's about time he got caught what he done down south and was still allowed to train dogs was shocking. Give him life he is bad for the greyhound game
