sir1galivant got a reaction from Black Kirrama in best jumpers of the past..
my first jumps was the 67 great northern steeplechase at 10 years old i got to see Eifel Tower
then brockton 71 - 72 loch linnhe 75-76 then the most unusual win was ascona 77 - 79 if memory serves ridden by the iconical Ken Brownewith his own inimittable style flying thru the air as his horse flew the fences.then haubies great calls of huntervilles 3 peat in 83-84-85.
the jumper i loved watching but unfortunately was weighted out very quickly was the great Sydney Jones 95 and 97.
then raylene whitesides back marker golden flare mowing them down from last at the top of the hill on last round
Then my favourite wellington steeplechase winner was Frederik which was my dads name .... those were the days.

Cheers Scooby,  got a couple of things a bit unclear but mostly I think contributors enjoyed it.
Will see how the fields look for TA and Riccarton as it was good to be able to include a Riverton race this week, hell I may even amend my rules to 3 NZ races and  1 OZ race for the next round.

They seem to have quickfire comps on this forum and ones over several weeks on the other.. does it really matter?    It's just a thread, and there are loads of other threads on each forum so if you don't want to enter or read it.. just don't click the thread
Life is complicated enough folks without making it complicated on here     Just enjoy xx and be thankful we have so much choice

I certainly enjoy the comps, pitting your best guess against others, the element of fun is starting to get lost in translation with comments.
Thank you sponsors and keep up the good work for all involved !

If this was Shakespeare play, would that result be a tragedy or comedy?

Jen would  be the scariest player in the Comp, in the nicest possible way of course.
Scores either zero or $600+ ...and rarely anything in between.
When you're drawn to play Jen you spend the week wondering which Jen is going to turn up.

Hi Rex. You can be first reserve. Someone is usually late or AWOL so you should post a set of picks each week and I will autosub you if someone hasn't posted by the start of race 1.
    Cheers

I was at my bank today; there was a short line … just one lady in front of me, an Asian lady.
It was obvious she was more than just a little irritated … she was trying to exchange yen for dollars.
She asked the teller, ‘Why it change? Yesterday, I get two hunat dolla
fo yen. Today I only get hunat eighty? Why it change?’
The teller shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘Fluctuations.’
The Asian lady says, ‘Fluc you white people too!’

Surprised to note that the Thames Club seems to have forgotten that this meeting is the 150th Anniversary of Racing for their Club. Seven races only mmm! At the Centennial Meeting on 6/1/68 they ran 10 races. 152 horses started that day! Winners were Ming Rose- David Peake/Pat McIlroy. Amberlee- Greg Chitty/ Syd Sullivan. Outspan- Buzz Leggett/Jack Winder. Daiosma- John Riordan/ Des Riordan. Samurai- Roger Lang/ Dave O’Sullivan. Taxsonia- Bruce Compton/ George Cameron. Second Sight- Brian Andrews/ Dave O’Sullivan. E Timi- Ron Taylor/Norm Crawford. Kalgoorlie- Barry Long/Jim Hely. Yuma- Bruce Compton/Jim Gibbs. Not a bad collection of jockeys and trainers!
