  1. Maybe Tommo could pop back in and share a few yarns.....
  2. Interesting Thread! Just curious Leo. How do you actually know this C.T character? You guys go a long way back? btw I do not know either you or this C.T guy but just wondering your history with him or is it just on line banter? I must say Its like sending lambs to the slaughter when this C.T guy tries to show you up but I must say he generally ends up with egg on his face.
  3. Will he be in Sydney this time next year to compete in the Sydney Cup?
  4. Good to see you back J.C. Remember the good old days at the Feilding track.....
  5. got any winners for me slam dunk?

  6. booze up and butch are pretty good presenters
  7. I thought the program the other day was fine. I did not see any races in the weekend but this program replayed the finishes of many races and had interviews with riders etc. As far as I am concerned it gave a pretty good recap of the racing. It serves its purpose. Obviously there are a lot of disillusioned people out there and some won't be happy unless they talk about the politics and future of nz racing however I don't think this is the program for that. It is to recap the racing for punters etc. IMO
  8. Good to see G Cooksley still competing. Top rider and he was in the top echelon of riders in Sydney for many years. I also hope Larry Cassidy can come back to raceday riding as he looks to overcome a serious knee injury. Another one who was in the top few riders in Sydney a few years back.
  9. Fair enough bimbo but you need to have ability, work hard, have the clients, the good stock etc, etc to make it in melbourne town. If you are training winners in the city then yep happy dayz but if you are plugging away in country vic then you would be no better off.....better off been a big fish in a small pond than the other way round. People are quick to say "another one off" "the last one turn the lights out" etc but there are are stacks of ex pats battling away in oz. That said there are plenty doing well and when you weigh up the options it is definately worth the punt heading across the tasman. It sounds like these guys will have good facilities, good stock etc in melbourne so I am sure they will do well. Good luck.
  10. Noel Eales always had plenty of topliners in his stable and a good strike rate to boot. You could back his horses with confidence knowing that they would be fit and ready to go. I also remember backing the first starters from the Bruce Marsh stable when the money was on and more often than not they would salute the judge. Top trainers. Oh those were the days......
  11. Noel Eales.......master trainer indeed........
  12. Oh good to hear you are well deegee. You should come back to foxton....im sure that stop watch is still in the trainers hut......
  13. Some outstanding individuals, both human and equine have come from Foxton. There were plenty of horses charging around that track in the good ole days.....not sure how many in work these days but I assume it is fairly low key now. Under utilsed track....
  14. Any one know what the following are up to these days??? Roy Mckay (was riding in WA but that was a while ago) Rata Prince Matthew Enright (was training in victoria, but not sure if he still is) Darren Gray (stop watch guy) Steven Dais Leanne Isherwood
