Can't pay the bills and buy groceries if I can't bet. That said at this stage I have a plan B for this now regular type of incident. Fortunately, the new Entain platform is expected to be in place in a few weeks now so the poor buggers will no longer have to keep patching up this antiquity.

Thought the final bet of the day was over-complicating things, didn't have a share. Earlier multi had Legarto into Orchestral. For the final race, the TAB site had the ~$600k bet as being on Orchestral FF win, but on the BGP social media the actual bet was Orchestral Top 4, Talisker Top 6. It was corrected after the race.. that would've been fun if you were new to the game.

Someone's got some explaining to do, surely the starter saw that the one of the Horses had a blindfold on and it needed to be removed.  If that Horse had jumped with the rest of the field, it could have been very nasty!!! Nicole Sims in the studio is obviously unaware that Horses can hear the gates opening even though they have a blindfold on!!!!

And the runners that didn't get to jump the first time round, run 1st 2nd & 4th. Outstanding work - I'm genuinely impressed at how NZ Racing just manages to out do itself year after year with this sort of bullshit.

Can't remember who it was in here a few weeks back that said NZ horses werent up to scratch compared to Aus, but this weekend has proven otherwise.  How good.

Megan rode Bad Flamingo to win for Cubes the week after he passed away.  If there is a heaven perhaps Megan could talk Cubes through the ride over a wine or a juice.

I'm wondering about the scope of the integrity unit (whatever they are called these days). They are quick to fine jockeys for mistakes, and even trainers, starters etc. Should they be looking at incompetent paid officials? Is that part of their role?

It is with great sadness to let everyone know that one of our nicest and longest members has passed away suddenly over the weekend. Cubes as Nigel was known was one of the good buggers,I will miss his witty sometimes cryptic posts and his undying loyalty to this site...he was a great supporter here and extremely well liked by me and many other members...thoughts go out to his brother  Andrew and to his family and loved ones...he can now fly high with his long love Pip....Life should not only be lived it should be celebrated...RIP Cubes we will all miss you...you were one of the best.

I agree to, what's wrong with keeping it local 

I come to this site most weeks. Just about every week someone on here is bagging Nz racing and how poorly it’s run. You guys are all consistently saying change is needed stakes need to increase. Well here’s an attempt to keep money in Nz and potentially a fair bit and you all bag it. I personally think it’s a great thing, auzzie do it currently. Sure we only have one place to bet but just remember that’s the place returning the most back to our racing!  Nz stakes need to increase and here’s an idea that might just help it’s a far better idea than I’ve seen anyone else come up with. 

Racing ones were still available this weekend.. however not all can be cashed out, I think it comes down to scratchings too - a lot of scratchings can equal no ability to cash out.

That doesn't make any sense to me at all. Surely if they wanted to sell it, it'd be worth much more with cash reserves than bare cupboards? And even if true, that there is an impending sale - which i don't think there is - why would the TAB give a toss about returning left-over cash to punters? 

Iv had my issues with TAB NZ in the past but now that they have Pay on interim, a $2k min bet from opening and no deductions, they are fast becoming the best place to bet. 

TAB is actually doing a pretty good job lately, decent promos, paying on provisional results is another good thing.. paying out dead heats in full, no more walking down to the TAB to get your money out.. no fees on card deposits.. no fixed odds reductions for the spring (who else does that??), their only last objective must be to make sure the site doesn't crash during the busy spring betting days.. it's about time but good job TAB.

November 7 1995 - I strapped my grandfathers 10yo gelding in the GR.3 WFA Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ellerslie the day the Queen was on course.
I got all dressed up... I even wore a tie just in case we won and I got the chance to meet Her Majesty ! 😆
We hit the front at about the 200m (I straightened my tie) we were still in front at the 100m (I tightened my tie) we got beaten a head and a half head at the finish. (I ripped my tie) 💩 🙈🤣
