Stud owners Paqtrick, Mark and Gary won't let Waikato get effected. Personally owners, trainers and jockeys need every race day to present opportunities to gain income.
No point in taking a petition of no matter what number of signatures to the Racing Minister, he only knows what his back room advisors and racing industry heads tell him. He is so light weight, don't waste time and effort on him. If you can gain enough signatures you take it to John the Prime Minister who focuses more constantly on ratings than policy. He will need a pick me up after he receives a flag slap on the face later this month. If he feels every signature on the petition will turn on him, will publically maintain pressure on him, he will fold like a pack of cards in the wind. The first step would be to pressure him into putting up a Racing Minister with a spine and passion for the industry we all on here have, irrespective of at time individual differences in views, then at least we have someone going into bat for us in the beehive.

The industry, doesn't matter if Australia or NZ, hate positives and wish they could go away. Unfortunately the top end pull in top lawyers and make the process so drawn out it damages the look. Of course they may have sent the case to NZ knowing they will die of old age before anything happens. If I tested positive for anything at work I would be gone, in racing they continue to work making a good living (good because the lawyers aren't cheap, so therefore worth employing them). 

You are right, no one does the analysis as the year flows to fix anomolies. What a waste of resources, $30k thrown away on a race with 5 runners. Talk to any successful businessman about this type of example and they would confirm the thoroughbred industry is definitely not run like a business. Trainers don't help themselves unfortunately. Two trainers will take 20 horses each to Gisborne because they are chasing a $10k trainers bonus. Were they thinking about their owners or themselves. Obvious answer. Then they scream out for more stakes, so $30k gets put up and 5 horses turn up.

Well I don't know about that - but it is a bummer when people on here play the man not the ball - and resort to personal insults, self-aggrandising nastiness and vitriol.

I have been a dairy farmer for over 35 years. Both my parents(until tragedy struck) and my husbands parents (who farmed all their lives) have been involved in farming for a long time.  It is not normal practice to put cobalt into water troughs. Normally if cows required it you either use a mineral lick or you give them an injection.  I have not heard of one single farmer around our area that put it into the trough. Our normal practice is for our animals to have a B12 injection which has cobalt in it and this is done June July and would say that it is a standard practice within the dairy industry

As I've posted before, I cannot for the life of me understand why the horses in question have not been disqualified? Either they raced with a prohibited substance/level or they didn't. If they did why have the horses not been dq'd?
