  1. Blue summary is the dumbest thing I have read - the majority of the thread is that it is endemic in the Alstars and is not a one off. And worse the thread is saying the stipes ignore the cheating and box seat applauds it !
  2. Tim covers bosses arse !
  3. I do remember them with not the domination of one stable - more excitement , more build up , even betting and the loss leader gap between turnover profit/loss and stakes paid was far less . Now every punter and owner in NZ is subsiding the Jewels by $$$ to line one stables pocket . Can the day and put the $million plus in stakes across the whole racing year .
  4. BS they team drive regularly - stable drivers are always giving way to the bosses or give them cover ! it is horrible to watch and such a turnoff for everyone who knows something about the game . Box Seat do some investigative journalism and prove Natalie's statement is as much BS as we all know . Look at a few tapes !
  5. Why don't they spell it out with examples/model to consider instead of slandering people who are trying to implement a system they in part wanted . They have a lot to say against a lot of things without providing alternatives.
  6. From what I hear about the second meeting- big with 70 attending - all trainers managed to do was make them look more like spoilt brats than they are already . A) Slandering paid employees who are trying to impliment a system they asked for ! B ) Not firm workable alternative C) No mention of the owner who puts food on their table - none at all ! D) Just a rabble yelling arguing and making unfounded comments about all and sundry with no thought From what I have heard thank god they have no say or input in how the country is run as they are just a rabble with nil class !
  7. The draws confirm my decision not to waste my time , money and energy in attending a procession of blue and silver stars taking over the whole day . No complaints above their skill as trainers but as a specticale a bore , as a high turnover day for the TAB a dream , as a contribution to TAB profit and therefore the whole industry to pay stakes a huge negative. I will save my energy .
  8. Then ask their clients before having secret meetings.
  9. Trainers vote for social welfare payment in Auckland ( 38 v's every owner ) and Canterbury trainers ( 21 and no against they say - rubbish ) think the rating system should go ! Again the owner who pays these trainers no say or asking of their opinion. Are all trainers in NZ selfish individuals - if you don't like it get out . How about trying something for a while instead of complaining - try being a bread and butter owner and see how your bank balance looks ! I say again trainers get out if you don't like it and try something else.I am sure the others after you 21 selfish individuals have left will feel better about their lot . Many owner has been made redundant or changed career- so try it and stop blaming everyone else . Get out of the game .
  10. So are you saying she has retired as she is looking for a stallion ? If so it makes the Rowe Cup field selection even more corrupt - let's put our mates horse for a last go around ! She should of been E3 but got mates marble start .
  11. Race for Hiigh Gait at ATC Friday but no show . By Rowe cup run it needs the practice .
  12. ATC again - clearly they have pets. Pet trainers and favoured owners get preference. Shocking to be on ballot but last ballot with 2 ahead is taking the p..s . Can field selection be appealed or court injunction?
  13. Now 38 trainers v's 945 views with no comment disagreeing. Maybe ATC board should act as they were appointed to do and make the decision they want. They were not put there to listen to one side who have a vested interest. No trainers social welfare payment but mininium stakes increase to $10 k !
  14. What about Mark Purdon pushing down on Cole Porter last week on Spaken ! Polite stipe comment about making sure there is enough room - even though he kept forcing his horse down the whole length of the back straight and Gerard O'Reily had no choice but restrain his horse or come down . Turning point of the race from parked 3 wide to being in one one. One rule Purdon horses / drivers and others . Mark should of got a fine / holiday and if Cole Porter in first 5 should of been relegated- example of dumb unfair rule to all other runners in race - makes for dodgems.

    Valmagne

Shows the new rating system is working and good for the solid "bread and butter "horse which makes sure days like today attract competitive and good sized fields!
  16. Vote now 38 trainers v 800 = needs a rethink by the 38 dictators.
  17. Not one person has messaged saying they strongly disagree with my sentiments - out of nearly 560 views . Therefore I guess the 38 trainers should reconsider their decision - the more affected side of the equation were again ignored - the owner ! Trainers how about showing some moral fortitude and reverse this selfish decision - 38 versus 560 is not good odds .
  18. Greedy selfish trainers in Auckland have voted themselves continuance of a dole payment from the owners pot . Socialism and looking after one self is not a good message to every owner in NZ . Look in the mirror trainers and see if you have an interest in the sport other than your selfish self !
  19. I assume you are talking about NZT trying to dismantle the TAB - already rejected by Govt - and NZ betting being taken over by Australia. The result is we will be treated worse than Sky Aussie presently treats NZ with its Trackside programming. Nonsense - NZT stop trying to sell us a pup which will end up NZ been treated very poorly with no input or say re any outcomes !
  20. Shirley Rickerby was one of the first to hold a licence.
  21. I have made a suggestion - many times - put the money into the stakes and if you want a 'turn up payment" give the owners an extra $180 a start. Can you tell us all who are the 3 trainers , in all of the nth island, who charge more than $51 + gst and is this net of track fees etc ? I will say again - I pay the trainer and I do not appreciate that by stealth the ATC are now stealing from owners stake money so they can make Social Welfare Payments to trainers. Only last week a comment was made to me about a top Auckland trainer who has put their daily rate up $5 per day while getting $180 starting fee - unsolicited comment ! People are now questioning the fairness of this directive which was made without any consultation with the most important part of the equation - the owner.
  22. There are a lot more than 3 trainers charging more than $50 + a day . Dunn, Purdon, Herlihy are north of $60 + a day and a group of plus $50 + . Also are you talking $45 + track fees or $45 inclusive track fees so true fees are actual plus $50 a day ? Broad answers and quotes don't help to justify the Socail Welfare Payment funding out of the owners pool to help pay for the Ranger upgrade. Do you think you have the right to be the only person with a suggestion which must be accepted - a lot of us don't like the propaganda payment made to bribe trainers which is detrimental to the owner. If you want a fat bottom performance attendance payment give the lot to the poor owners who are predominately driving a jap imports and don't oen new SUV,s and triple floats which get charged out etc.
  23. I guess you have more faith than me in the trainer not increasing his charges to the owner. They knew it was coming but as you say trainers rates have recently gone up. I think the $150 a starter will go into their pocket and will not come into the monthly cost calculation when they are reviewing the training cost for the owner to pay. So the thought that the trainers fee will help owners I cannot accept - how it can I am still at a loss to see. The owner pays for nearly everything. Also, maybe I am odd but I pay the trainers bill by the 20th of every month - never miss. I guess I will now net off the $150 every start and see the reaction or become a bad payer as you get nothing for paying on time. More than one way for the owner to get back stakes which should be raced for !
  24. Herlihy races say 200 times at ATC = $30 k . Also you are acting as a GST collector ( $4 k on the $30) for the Govt - why do that ? Looking at that sum will he reduce his training fees an average of $750 per owner per annum - doubt it ! Then if we look say 10 races x 40 meetings x $400 per horse x 8 horses get payment ( balance in stakes ) = $1,280,000. That is an average of $3,200 per race . So maidens could be $17.50- $20k . And that doesn't include money breeders take from the stakes pool - I breed too and have for years and know it is hard work to break even but I bet breeders get closer to breaking even than any poor owner but you think the owner is fair game to steal from. Maiden stakes at $20 k will attract new owners , keep owners in the game and make foals worth more as more demand ! Economics 101 . Subsidises don't worth - ask the farmer industry .
