Great win in the Tulloch Stakes (Grp 2) for Tapilooledo and another stakes winner for Proisir.
Here is the back ground story to the Taplins going from down south over to the Sunshine Coast

Top win by taplins horse as well, left nz as maiden and now is a group 2 race winner, very pleased for them, coming from the deep south of Isla bank to the bright lights of rosehill Australia, favour fortunes the brave.

Brian, well done on keeping the TABs feet to the fire.
Some in this thread have referred to an ingredient in the demise of the TAB being Mr Allen and his NZ Post cronies but I believe almost a decade ago it was a cluster of ex BNZ execs who’s performance could be questioned. How long did they stay. How many million were paid in salaries and what did they deliver? Mr Bayliss left under rather hurried circumstances. PArt of his legacy was the appointment of two former BNZ colleagues.

Associated with this, I recently attended one of the early NZTR roadshow meetings where Bruce Sharrock spoke of his vision for improving thoroughbred racings future. I thought he did a good job to front up. During his presentation it was apparent (in my view) that the relationship between the TAB and NZTR is in poor shape at present with a lack of trust between the two organisations. Then today, as an acc holder, I get an email from Mike Tod crowing about how much dosh the TAB is returning to NZ Sport. I really feel like Racing has lost its identity within the TAB - they don’t care and, dare I say, see our industry as no more than a shrinking part of their revenue stream. They would rather suitor sports punters. Whereas once the TAB was racing, now racing is steadily losing its mana within that organisation (IMO)

They certainly can and i'm sure some tough questions are being asked around the deficit for the next 6 months and what they are doing to ensure that kind of figure is not going to carry into the 23/24 season .
The TAB is supposed to be run for the benefit of NZ racing , currently and for the last few years they have been a law unto themselves . If a racing minister should do 1 thing it should be reaming out the TAB management for their excesses and high and mighty attitude to the bodies they are there to benefit .

Sorry, abandonment rule allows best bets to be transferred prior to closing time (2pm) but after closing time that's just the rub of the green.
If it's any consolation nearly half of the best bets were in the abandoned races.

So back to the question. If I’m a trainer or jockey can I attend race days?
If I ride track work can I be on a racecourse to do the job I love?
Industry has invested in my training and development. If I choose not to be vaccinated is that investment flushed because I’m effectively blacklisted.
and given racing is primarily an outdoor setting does that not make these career limiting Restrictions OTT?

i have had one jab and will get my 2nd but its my choice, like everyone else i eat and drink and i wouldn't have a clue what's in my food so I'm prepared to take the jab
and if it helps me then good if not well what have i lost???
but how certain workforces have sat back and let fellow workers lose their jobs without sticking up for them is disgraceful
if the teachers and nurses had shown any spine what so ever we would not be in the position where a lot of new Zealanders are going to face take the jab or no job policy....

Southland reacted to meomy in Covid Lockdown and Ruakaka
Ruakaka could have & should have gone ahead.
During original lockdowns those who traveled for work had & carried in their vehicles a printed certificate with their occupation/ business name on them if they were in Pharmacy etc.
How hard is it for the Heads of the Racing industry to do the same so people can travel to & from workplaces to undertake work when they are healthy & able to?

Do people within the Racing Industry have Licences that they still carry with them in some shape or form that qualifies them to undertake work in the industry?
Why can't they simply carry them to travel about ther country?

Whilst you are at it, look up the history of Americold, influenza- who is the company where they are perceived to have had a Coronavirus/ Covid19 outbreak in Auckland.
They naturally have staff who have respiratory problems brought on through the  use of chemicals, there's also history of past coronavirus/ pandemic scares worth while reading to put things into proportion.

Commonsense goes a long way in life.

It's apparent that Director of Health & scientific advisors to this Gvt are clueless about factoring into account workplace & geographical environmental issues that a General Practitioner who examines patients & swears a Hippocratic Oath adheres to & gets to know their patient & circumstances well when one shows any of the 4 basic "symptoms" used to guess Coronavirus/ Covid 19.
Whack-a-mole won't stop the spread of any contagious diseases.

Racing needs to stick up for itself & stand up to the nonsense grandstanding b/s spun by academics that gets repeated by the Gvt.

It wasn't that long ago Academics, including the likes of Shaun HENDY who is fixated on his #NOFLYING project, &  telling us they wanted us lockdown for 2 years.
