Little bit off topic but what do you fellas think about instruction or guidance to a trainer on a suitable program for a reasonable animal. Owners leave it up to the trainer, owners provide an outline of suitable races and leave it to the trainer or owner sets the end goal with trainer and leaves trainer to navigate a suitable path to achieve the goal?

Auckland Cup weights are up in NZTR website. Can someone explain how Benzini gets 55.5 kg (being the highest rated horse in the race and Grp1 placed in Oct 2015)?

Perhaps I'm splitting hairs but can anyone tell me how a re-rated (83 +5) Guarantor jumps to 12 in order of entry ahead of Delargo Secret (r89) & Grp3 winner Jan 2015 and Bel Sorriso (r89), each of who are 13 & 14 in order respectively? Chrs

With the race now being set weights and penalties, there is no requirement for weights to be released prior to Wednesday, 9 March". (NZTR) No requirement........??? What about the punter who might be inclined to have a bet on FF and would find weight allocated useful when assessing the opportunities. Can anyone point me to where I might find weights for top 30 ranked Auckland Cup noms or is there someone in cafe land who has done the weights and is willing to share? Chrs W.

We live 2km from Ellerslie. Steady rain on Thurs from 2pm (15-18mm) but there would have been a lot of drying yesterday arvo. Expect a perfect surface at Ellerslie with a little bit of cut early on. Dawned beautiful today so and going to be a hot one! good punting
