  3. Southland Golf Club (Oreti Sands) shut up shop earlier this year. Cashflow and aging membership... sound familiar. The racing industry needs to move forward and should be embracing the olive branch handed to them by Winston ("do it or die"). I'm no fan of the man but he's fronted up and is prepared to put his support behind change that builds a better future for ALL industry participants. Go you good thing!
  4. A recording of the event will be available on the Department of Internal Affairs website as soon as possible. Regards, Office of New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing,

  7. Perhaps unrelated - has the Edit button that allowed a poster to tidy up a post disappeared??
  8. You have to take your had of to Darley and the ATC - the Aussies do this well. Yet another initiative to assist breeders & owners with significant marketing rub off for the sponsors. https://www.australianturfclub.com.au/darley-atc-elevate-spring-princess-series-royal-randwick/
  9. Read with interest that Cox Plate invitee Benbatl has bounced back to form with a Group One victory in Germany. Looking at his pedigree it was interesting to see La Mer 4 gens removed on the bottom of the page. I don’t know to much about this family since the great filly raced in the mid 70s but would be interested in thoughts on what may have activated this pedigree to leave a horse of Benbatl’s quality. In terms of the dam line I guess class is permanant but do you see any other influencing factors? chrs

  11. Ditto, had a similar experience today. The first leg was run and won (Akoya Pearl) but turbo quad pool remained open for about a minute after AP went past the post. Took AP x field x field with a couple in the last but unfortunately like you missed. WTF

  17. SOLD Multiple stakes-winning filly Dijon Bleu has been sold to overseas interests. The daughter of Burgundy enjoyed a lucrative three-year-old campaign from Lisa Latta’s Awapuni stable before a leg injury forced her withdrawal from the Gr. 1 New Zealand Oaks. “She’s been purchased by Kia Ora Stud in New South Wales,” said bloodstock agent Paul Beamish, who brokered the deal. “She’s going to be an exciting breeding prospect.” ....full story in The Informant
