  1. Interesting point you raise. A lot of dogs are scratched with a' Vet Cert to be supplied." I can't recall ever seeing this information being publicised in stipes reports prior to their next starts, and this info from a punters perspective should be made available..
  2. After yesterday at Auckland maybe things need a little fine tuning?.. Gary your exhibition of gardening while raking the jump area in full view( prior to the start ) is not the best of looks and when it gets mention on air by two officials about the slowness of boxing up perhaps time to take note. . Why can't you do that off air and spend the Allotted time in Control of the handlers. Race 10 boxing up was a shocker If you and the stipe didn't realise it, a hell a lot of viewers maybe did...
  3. While on the subject of track surface and conditions , A few days back when a galloper fell, the stipes, with concern had two jockeys out, in full view of the cameras to discuss a few skid marks left as a result of the fall. Week in and out, we see horses faulter as they run over designated crossings especially the standardbreds racing on the grass. Has the condition and resultant dangerous state of the crossings ever been addressed. . If not why not?? Maybe a jockey, driver or trainer might be able to advise here..
  4. No it doesn't so how about posting it up for all to see ?.What a bloody hoot!!!... It has to make the cover of the Feb mag ..?
  5. Boxing up for race 10 today in full view a handler with tailored trousers has taken the dress code Down to another level. Poor old Leith Innes will suffer tomorrow with a slice of ham and lettuce leaves.!!??
  6. Bunyarra, would be interested of your costings please and the comparisons of both sides of the ditch thanks...
  7. Not disagreeing with your point of view ...Where I am coming from is that we need rules!!, and every one associated with these rules should to be honest and accountable for them... There are proceedures in place to make change ?. A.C... If there were rules to suit you ....you could very well be a large Tea Plantation owner by now :) and our Association could be having financial problems because the large amount of money outstanding for fees you owed them is accumulating....Was the good arrangement we all had to travel our dogs by air not another issue??? Imagine an airport with out rules lol...
  8. The dress code criteria that is in place as of the beginning of the month appears on Screen to be working and it does look good !!. Give an inch and we get what we did tonight.!!! It appears in the distance race at Cambridge...we have some difference of opinions and at least 3 boxing handlers I spotted, have hats that are not within the criteria ... So what is going on ..?
  9. What else did poor old Mr.Leach do ???? for all the time he sat behind his desk (or did he)? He did nothing, for the good of us at all.!!.....in practical terms....... A disgrace and a waist of time of what could have been achieved. and our integrity.....?:)
  10. Admin,,, I'll tell you one thing, He never owned 90 bloody Greyhounds lol... We have just got rid of the (IMHO) the most useless arsehole who possibly Recruited this suspect dude.. under his watch ,He dragged us bottom feeders through sheer hell for years and we have struggled for a sense of reason just like you are in your code presently. We were subject to deals going down that are still unanswered to this day.!!!!!!!. It hurts to the core for the passionate people , the good people of our code . It would be another disaster at present if Kerr was to be given a position of what you guys are presently battling to get rid of!!! Our new Chairman of the Association Craig Rendle needs a chance to heal things and I don't personally think he would be so stupid to offer Kerr this so very important position when he could step in and show some balls himself and give us some hope...
  11. You are doing a good job Gary , keep it up.!!!....I can see an improvement since this post was initiated....and I sense passion with your intentions....God,,,,,,,,, if Greyhound Racing needs anything it needs " Passion "
  12. Thank you, we are in the same saddle :)
  13. Well send them back to the trials!! and maybe some more work at home? .Why should these 10 second wonders shag it up for the rest? No sorry Napier that is not good enough. Jockeys safety always........ but 10 second horses ?????
  14. Bimbo rdytdy Brown Fox , all good points of interest.!!!. I have a post on the Greyhound sight that high lights some of these issues. I have never understood why some Thorougbreds get the obvious " BONUS" of loading last !!. What is the protocol that sets the precedence for this please?????????? Fox, your idea of what already is in place elsewhere is worth a look .. Why the hell cant the horses be loaded odd and even? It would save time and stop all the shagging around. Don't tell me all is okay because I have spoken to trainers and Jockeys that are aware, that if they walk a few extra metres and procrastinate and make another turn the horse that has had to load earlier is more than likely going to go off!!!! AND it could possibly ruin the chances of the horses around it!!! About time the sport of "Kings" got its shit together!!..In my opinion, you have Wankers similar to "Fifa", perhaps ,running your show and I say this from the heart, Something has to be done guys ...Something is not right!!! and if you don't deal to it ,you will slip into territory beyond repair...
  15. Gary, Thank you for your time to reply to my post, especially from a starters point of view... With the present coverage of activity prior to boxing it is easy to spot what is going on, and in some cases more than you, can be expected to monitor. Can I suggest a simple small clipboard with a diagram of the box numbers and one for each race. A tick in the square (in duplicate) for any handler that draws your attention of which Television coverage can be used to confirm, This could enable you as a starter to compile for your area constant trouble handlers. For example, you might find after a few meetings the same handler unable to box a specific dog or dogs in general and this can then be confirmed with the Stipes for some form of action. It has me stumped actually, we have the R.I.U. watching the monitor prior to the start and another peering over the fence and how often doe's anyone get reprimanded or spoken to, or it even making it as far as the daily report ??...It is so obvious at times and yet they can not see, or don't warrant it important enough. Quite simple...When the starter says box up ..That is what is required!!.
  16. All over the country Incompetent or Cunning handlers . The run up time from the start of the lure to boxes opening is, I believe uniform for all tracks? The dogs get used to this and can be severely hampered if handlers cannot get their dogs in the boxes straight away through lack of experience, or strength ...or out right cunningness.. The starters need revving up and the stipes need to follow up.. Manawatu Monday and today at Wanganui at least two handlers should have been put on notice......Having to have the right coloured hat is one thing but from a punters point of view a fair go for all dogs is another....
  17. Yes, Mike deserves a better deal than he has dished out to him.. More Integrity than some of those above him perhaps. Something I have always found unusual is why the powers of Integrity have never let him put a leg over when it comes to stewarding the Thoroughbreds?
  18. It must be such a let down for all concerned. Let's hope now we have a new man at the helm of the Association that things will improve, It will need to???

Keep up the posting Yankiwi. You raise some very important issues that do need to be addressed and the sooner the better.
  20. I think regardless off what the thread is all about 'the sprucing up' of the 375m sign that is in tatters should be repaired by this coming Fridays special race meeting... It's in full view of the television and is a disgrace...
  21. Perhaps Triple Trio disaster Dore could look at this as a betting option?. Put a million up for grabs which is less than they threw at the Triple Trio and create a lotto type scenario.
  22. The announcing at Addington is veeery good ...This young fella has a bright future ahead of him for sure...
  23. Sniper are any of the pups from Pink Sock or Seven Iron by Ate To Much for sale please.?
  24. Eljay you do mean three codes? It is widely accepted that Cobalt is being used amongst all codes. The difficulty I believe is the levels. The laboratory the R.I.U. uses for testing is possibly not capable of giving the detailed information required.?
  25. Kotare , coming to think about it nor did I:) .I backed the winner tho and was so rapt I did not need to notice that which you mention. Where did you finish and what is your problem? The man has been an Icon for the code and an absolute relentless service of devotion.. Another announcer will not fix your concerns, maybe accept this and get on with it...
