The reason we do not have races here on a Saturday night is because The Australian TABs refuse to cover our Saturday night meetings because of the overflow of aussie racing they don't have enough TV time to play our races and the our tab does the same thing they lose turn over having our racing on a Saturday night. they could get turn over from Saturday night and Thursday night. when they have to reduce aussie racing cover on our tab channels if they moved the thrusday night racing to Saturday nights.

Trainers are getting it in there heads that you need to be the best to race at Auckland thing is they are not wrong. Because the stakes are so big compared to the rest of the meeting in the north island everyone who has a "good" horse races at Auckland hoping to win the good money rather than go up the grades by winning small stakes anywhere else. All the small to medium Trainers are what actually make up the fields and keep the industry alive there will always be the purdons Dunns and herlihys(etc) the trainers that top the industry but do they make up all the feilds? That's all we hear about from the media is about the top trainers and drivers nothing about the smaller trainers who have rare winning doubles or trebles or horses who Win at 100 to 1 or any other significant achievement by horse trainer or driver. To answer your question is it hard to find a really good horse to match the purdons Dunns and herlihys(etc) best horses, how many trainers have horses good enough to beat Christian me, have faith in me, ohoka punter they are examples of the what horses have to race against at auckland
