  1. Probably why they aren't going to try there, focus on country clubs, the whole things is/will be a mess.
  2. I wouldn't be taking a quadruple you'd have to Field every leg;
  3. Exactly my point but a couple a month, I think they'd be popular in all respects.
  4. Yes Winx I've also heard Aldridge is behind this thinking, therefore it's going no where good.
  5. I mean something affordable if they want to continue on with their high stakes strategies.
  6. He certainly seems like is going to be popular. Must be a well kept secret.
  7. I'm with you also had one to go to a mid level stallion but very doubtful she will, the industry is just going backwards so quickly it's not worth the risk.
  8. It's quite clear they need to come up with a 2nd tier of racing, whether that's for less prize money or whatever it's absolutely imperative there are enough races for horses to run in. I don't know why they don't identify these deficiencies in their plans and do something about it, there is just nothing no initiative ,no industry planning or surveying the current state the July fields are in is evidence of this. I have absolutely no faith in NZTR to come up with anything of note to rectify these situations either, believe me they haven't got a clue. Not only that why aren't we hearing from some of these well paid racing club CEOs in identifying these situations? Too many have taken the proverbial for too long and need to step up or step out.
  9. Possibly has something to do with the racing bill, isn't there something in there about 2 years as a racing venue not used can enter into a process, that may impact Woodville & Otaki?
  10. I think it's indicative of the races, no one really has a clue about the form and the fields in these races that was pretty clear looking at a few results yesterday. If you can't line up the form and it's even worse than normal winter, that's what you can expect. Perhaps getting back to some structure may help next month or whenever it happens.
  11. Not if they aren't covering costs. I fear they have taken away alot of the races/meetings that generated revenue at little cost, but are too stupid to see that.
  12. Cash is king! Well cash flow in this case, where do they race and train if they have to sell up the collatarel? Another awful example of mediocre leadership with visions of grandeur leading them up the creek to oblivion.
  13. If they have any clue they'll stick with free racing.
  14. Good on them I hope they all do!
  15. I'd like to think that most people have clicked, the damage his has procured on this country should never be forgotten.
  16. Absolutely undoubtedly the money will be wasted nothing surer. You'd expect there will be a few court cases over it forthcoming though. Imagine NZTR or whatever they will be called with access to the funds generated, wastage not seen since the days of RITA pre Covid levels !
  17. Exactly but people of sound mind should remember come election time that like this government this bill has been bestowed upon us by Winston Peters.
  18. It means the fun will really begin around the Asset Theft, it means you'll probably have some of the most under performing leadership not only wasting industry resources but local community resources in the future, it means you'll see decisions made that benefit about 20% of the industry with the rest forgotten about. It means fools from the Trainers Assoc to trackside presenters to stud farms to large stables believe it will resolve all of racings problems in this country.
  19. Exactly , thats why any innovation should be mainly directed at encouraging new blood. I'm not sure thats been done very well here if at all.
  20. Your right Army, they are already over prioritised in every area of the industry as it is.
  21. Whilst I somewhat agree with what your saying , I don't believe we can get the current ratings right let alone a whole new set of mechanisms and as you've pointed out it wont change without a change in personnel both at RITA/NZTR unfortunately I think we are no hope of that happening in the foreseeable future.
  22. Absolutely do as you please they are your horses, as I said I find amusing how people think taking them to Australia is the solution to their NZ woes. Best of luck with them I hope you win a G1 over there!
  23. I agree, been that way for a while though Scooby.
  24. Exactly right Pam , unfortunately the powers that be don't see it that way, the industry will only recover to a sustainable level with the assistance/recovery of the base of the industry.
  25. Are they now? Which races in NZ truly compare to international G1 class?
