Extrapolating that scenario the 3 horses were running with the cattle before being loaded on the transporter? A 600+ reading post-race many hours later with the cobalt 1/2 life break-down rate. I know I am stupid to be racing horses but NOT THAT BLOODY STUPID!

Nobody has the guts to go on strike.... everyone thinks of their own interests first... nothing will happen until the WHOLE industry stands up and says ENOUGH!!!!!

Barry, horses are at least 12 times the weight of greyhounds, so it would cost at least that sort of multiple to feed them or change their ownership surely?
Mind you, it cost me $9 to change the ownership on a car last week. Petone are clearly grossly inefficient or out and out thieves.

There is a total disconnect endemic in N.Z. Racing. Some trainers will be earning less than the minimum wage if you factor in the hours they work. On the other hand the people making the diabolical decisions are on six figure salaries and are not risking one cent of their money. Totally unsustainable in my view.

The big question is are the people we are taking about clever enough to be that cunning, or are really just incompetent? I don't really know enough about any of them to have an informed opinion.

If true, that is a worry, but probably confirms what many on here have long suspected.
I find it hard to believe Racing Management can be as incompetent as they appear by accident, there must be more to it.

Just making an example of him, think there is other issues they better looking at, i hope whoever dobbed him in is feeling bad about it. After all what harm was he doing to the industry. That will probably spell the end of his career, another one lost to the racing fraternity, i know he deserved punishment for his first charge, thought the sentence was to tough. Everyone deserves a second chance, im sure he still had  plenty  to offer in sum form to racing.You can't replace experience and the ranks of senior riders are thin on the ground, and sum of our apprentices are average to say the least. Maybe we need to ring the dobber line to report sum of their poor riu rulings or inconsistencies. Im sure there is room for improvement on that score. Anyone agree

Think if it was me i would hand in my trainers license. So many trainers and owners are dropping off in the industry, and they wonder why, just another example, common sense isn't that comon any more. Dont think the powers that be realise that if it wasn't for all the struggling owners and trainers at grassroots level thats keeping these highly paid officials in a job. As we've seen before never is their any leniency shown for the small time battlers, they need to take a look at themselves. My late uncle said  many years ago the game was going down hill when highly paid officials took control. So much back then was voluntary, now every one wants a slice of the pie, and those at the top are paid exorbitant salaries.A real shame.

Wasn't he doing that as the horse he was riding was a RETIRED racehorse from what I have just read, not a racehorse.

This type of crap gives me the shits. 
Look at the idiots throughout the industry stuffing everything up everywhere and all we have here is Walker employed on the farm together with his wife riding an ex racehorse and possibly assisting (my guess) with young ones being educated etc. 
For Gods sake the place is a farm where their own horses are reared and exercised, not a racecourse or training centre.

It's not possible! To test 600 it would have to be injected everyone knows that. Feel free to show anything that says otherwise. PS Lance was my idol growing up, i believe any trainer using Cobalt should be banned for life, very dangerous at those levels. 

mr-gee thanks for your comments. I have been racing horses for over 40 years. Back in the 80's I got sick of taking horses to the races and having to compete against horses so full of anabolic steroids that they had muscles on their eyebrows. Now it is Cobalt. All I want is the five horses I have shares in to be able to Race on an even playing field. Is that too much to ask for?!
