I don’t disagree with you but I would think the chances of getting a tab machine or tab in a mall are close to none based on the fact the vocal minority will cause the mall owners to back out of it. Lotto is marketed very well to your average kiwi, racing is not and it would take a huge effort to turn the perception around.

I would doubt you would be able to get tab machines in a mall in this country.

None of those examples are completely reliant on betting.

Would it be something to do with touch tone not being compatible with with there new platform when it’s launched?

The note acceptor is awful especially if you are behind someone putting in a few notes. I also annoys me when the message pops up on the machine telling you that race four from Inner Mongolia is now closed even though you are not remotely interested in that race.
