100% agree with previous 2 posts. Old school attitudes will kill this game off, not this current 'scandal'. This is what happens when money, greed, and 'professionalism' hijack a hobbie sport. These 'professional's' will ruin it for the hobbie trainers. I can't see a way forward with this industry at a pro level, maybe we just need to go back to racing for the love of the game and a ribbon...then the right people will stay in and the greedy undesirables will not!

Flabbergasted, Chairman Rendle benefited because he was/is hugely involved in racing, breeding, winning more than any other Chairman I'm aware of, he was the one who ordered the semen, negotiated the price with the studmasters, then he'd put his owners/breeders hat on and get first dibs..i understand he would also announce a 'clearance sale' of frozen semen and then proceed to buy up at that reduced price and repeat the cycle.

The former Chairman benefited greatly from the frozen semen being dealt with through head office, he gone now so they getting out of it

I think having the likes of Cyborg & Lightem Jax in there really makes this race a bit different and exciting, otherwise it's just another top grade race for the same olds. I have loved Cyborg and personally hope she can go a blinder!!

Very little. Manukau is the last surviving stand alone greyhound tote venue, all others share venue/facilities with the other codes. Was too much $ and effort for the NZRB/TAB to go to the botique, rural community tracks hence why through the decades they have closed. Gone are the days of seeing people standing 3-4 deep at intimate dog venues..visions of QE2 and Solway for mine. Sigh...i know this is just the story of professional sport on the whole...why come to the track when I can sit at home. But it has taken dog racing completely off the radar for a lot of communities over the last few decades.

The victim was a lovely chap who is a liked and respected member of the greyhound community so why you take the piss and get 'likes' is beyond me,as for results, sadly couldn't make it to Hawera this year but I hope everyone had an awesome weekend...genuine people enjoying greyhound racing the way it used to be.

Yes they would. Other trainer's dogs would make it to C5. Like the good old days. Somewhere between Big Buisness and the 'greenie brigade' this sport has been having the life/enjoyment drained out of it for years. So sad.
