gubellini got a reaction from Baz (NZ) in NZTR Change of Address
Effectively immediately the NZTR head office has changed it's address from Petone to 18 Dick St, Cambridge. Sensible move but their new address may trigger a few jokes!

gubellini got a reaction from THE TORCH in Ellerslie track issues
Memo Paul Wilcox: The Ellerslie Bowling Club is at 20 Kalmia St. The nearest golf course to Ellerslie is 2km away- the Remuera Golf Club at 120 Abotts Way. Incidentally Kalmia was a handy mare by Golden Plume trained at Hawera by Herb Bergerson. She won 6 races from her 13 starts. Des Harris and Jim Walker won twice on her and Gary Bergerson and Gus Clutterbuck once each.

gubellini got a reaction from THE TORCH in Ellerslie track issues
Paul Wilcox should leave his ivory tower for a few hours and stroll to the nearest bowling and golf clubs and get FREE advice on how to grow and maintain grass. He would learn more from them than the so called "experts" on racecourse turf management.

Te Awamutu which is purely a trials track at the moment and has been having a "renovation", isn't ready to hold the designated trials next week , pushed back one week , and a set of trials at the Cambridge Synthetic have been put in their place .
They are a bit slow , they haven't worked out yet that the majority don't want to trial on the synthetic , especially their babies , so now owners have to wait another week to trial and hopefully get to the races and hopefully before they strike a heavy track .
And what is the problem with Te Awamutu that one more week will resolve ? At least tell us , it's all Chinese whispers and it's getting f@#ken boring .
I'm so over this crap , I have 3 horses at the moment but have made the decision they are my last here , things like the this and Ellerslie just reaffirm my decision .

That appears to be the same mob from the Auckland Trotting Club that thought they more about commercially developing properties than commercial property developers, hence the (reputed to be) $100,000,000 hole they found themselves in after 101 different issue meant the project overran in every possible direction.

Cup Day Tradition - ROOTED
World Famous Jumps race over the HILL - ROOTED
General state of Racing - ROOTED
$55m Track - NOT ROOTED (apparently)
Seems the Muppets can root everything except what they needed to ....
Apparently this shot is from the meeting when they decided to send the Track developers home early

Foxton should be in play to, Central Districts struggling for surfaces as well, it’s going to be a long winter…..

gubellini got a reaction from Pegasus 9 in Orchestral (nz)
She had a very hard run in the Vinery. Winter spell and another great campaign in the spring.

Gruff bit tough on Triston Moodley's ride on Charmer. Sure having won $55,610 in stakes prior to the race she looked a top prospect. She is now a 12 start maiden. Looking for a middle distance in my opinion. Tristan did weigh in 0.6kgs overweight. Later in the day he won on Mr Mojo Risin' and the unfancied Lightning Jack. Ironic that sometimes when you bag a jockey they bounce back quickly and ride winners!

I can't wait for Credit Bet Mick's spin on the Ellerslie track situation in tomorrow's Herald.
