  1. Eventstars get alot of the Hong Konghorses back but not sure about Aussie.
  2. Not sure that is totally correct. I had 5 horses that I have had shares in retire in the last year for different reasons and from different stables and they have all been rehomed. Also Eventstars rehome a big of retired race horse
  3. As if your shit dont stink. Ooh dont you think you are do superior
  4. How rude are you. There no need for that sort of comment. A. I am UE qualified. B. I dont drink wine. C. I have just had an eye operation but more importantly tou need to learn to not be so rude and attack people because you aren't anymore important than anyone else. Just for your imformation I was using my phone and it is a Samsung
  5. Well if the TAB want our money and want to make money they shouldn't close the tacd and say on their site that the race is running when there still 2 minutes to ho I am talking about NZ races not Aussie races.
  6. Why are they shutting races off with w minutes to go. What idiots
  7. I just looked at one year and syndicate horse and none of them are stallions. I did Te Akau because they were the biggest NZ buyer so it was easy to look up. I did the syndicate horses that were not exported because once again it was easy to follow. The 9 I used was only part of what they brought so yes they could of sold some for stallions and yes heretic velourcid in there even though she racing overseas but earns good money here.
  8. Interesting you say that. Have you ever taken the time to look back over what TE Akau have brought the last few years and how well the horses have done or havent done. I looked at 2015 for inteest and ownly looked at the syndicate horses. Total of 9 horses paid a figure of 2.46 million. So far they have earnt 531865. That includes Heroic Valopur in that and it earned 377355. Of those 9 horses 4 are inactive an 800000 purchase didnt even race. So when you look at that there is a hugh loss especially once you take into account the insurance training fees.
  9. I live in Te Aroha. Thames raced there the week before and there were sign up all over town and out in the country. The harness there were no signs up at all about their meeting. Thames gallops had a huge crowd so that tells the story. You have to take a bit of time and get signs up
  10. You have to go to the country meeting they put on a fair bit of stuff for the kids entertainment.
  11. Yes you might be right. And if they can get that crowd and that turnover they deserve a percentage off the tote
  12. Nope not anti Te Rapa not anti any racecourse. You slamb dunked Taupo and their crowd but when you look at the so called dollar betters they brought money to the industry. And when it boils down to it that is the most important thing for racing. I dont normall attack people but you seem happy to do it so you can toddle back off to the ark ages where you obvioulsy live and we will get on with iving in the present not the past like you.
  13. No where near what I was saying. I SAID THE PROGRAMME NEEDS TO COME INTO THE NEXT CENTURY AND TO LEAVE THE PAST BEHIND EXCEPT THE PREM RACES. How the Derby comes into that only you now. What I want to know Barry is what Te Rapa on course turnover was on the 22nd of December. I am sure you will know but arent willing to reveal it. Reason being Taupo is classed as and Industry day Te Rapa a Feature meeting. Then each club is on a Teir system for payment so therefor Te Rapa gets paid by NZTR double what Taupo get to run a race meeting. I would presume Te Rapa would also get a percentage of the tote which I doubt Taupo would. So if you front up with Te Rapas turnover did they get 187k on course. If not then that meeting at Te Rapa cost the industry money whereas Taupo made the Industry money. If you also take into account the stakes that was paid out on these days Te Rapa was 182500 Taupo 106000 therefor a differnce of 76500 plus the extra payment made to Te Rapa means that for them to break even with Taupo as far as turnover goes they would need to around 233500 on course. So my statement is that it is not the smaller race clubs that is making NZTR struggle it is the bigger race clubs . Do you figures
  14. Firstly Barry B I dont beleive in small fields and if the power to be set a mini,um number for a race to be had we wouldnt have the small fields. You can be in a filed of 5 run last and still get a stake that is stupid. Both Matamata and Taupo only had 10000 races except for the cup perhaps if it was higher there may have been more. Then at Matamata Saturday and Taupo Sunday there was a madian 1200 Matamata had 9 Taupo 5 so why programme 2 of the same races 2 days in a row within easy travelling. As I said before the programme needs to be chucked out except for Prem days and brought into this Century. How often do you see Race courses in close proximatery racing in the same week. For example Rotorua ThursdayMatamata Saturday Taupo Sunday Tauranga Wednesday and Thames at Te Aroha Thurday so with a compact area there are 5 meetings. They need to be spread out becasue we all pull horses from the same area. It would be a bit like Elleslie Avondale and Counties all racing in same week. The programme needs attention. Last but not least I gather you are connected to Te Rapa and as I said I went there on the 22nd December and there was no one there. The races that day stakes were 30000 or more so come on what was the turnover. Did it make as much as Taupo were your 30000 stakes justified compared to Taupo.
  15. I dont know what your problem is Barry B. The on course turnover tells the story and it wasnt through $1 bets. And it doesnt matter what sort of better it is the money and turnover was good which when it boils down to it is good for the Industry. Can you name many other race days that have done that kind of turnover since type beginning of December. I bet there are hardly any if any. The people turned up paid their money to get in and had a good day betting on the totes what more could the indsutry ask for
  16. And that is why they should be doing more Saturdays in the country area it is a novelty so they make a point of going. Ellselie and Te Rapa struggle for crowds at times because they over do the racing arent atrracting new punters so it is just the same ol same old most of the time.
  17. That was a good turnover and I reckon that turnover would have been better than the one at Te Rapa on the 22nd of December. Then there was the gate charge so over all Taupo had a good day. As for the small fields well if the so called people setting the fields for race meeting put on their glasses and had a look at what was going on in the Racing Industry those small fields would be eliminated. But no they just say thats what it ewas like last year so that is what it is like this year. Get rid of the oldand put people in there that can adjust to the times and step out of their comfort zone and not just do the same old same old and say it worked 50 years ago so it will work now. Dream on
  18. 1 4 horse field and 2 5 horse fields what do you expect,. It will be interesting to see turnover becasue at one stage I was in the office and there was a huge amount of efpost receips for bettin vouchers. These day how do you find out about turnover
  19. As I said I was at matamata for race one and I was surprised at how many people were in the grass public area. Was also at Taupo today and what a huge crowd. Bigger than last year it would have been a massive day turnover I would say. All carparks were full
  20. I wasnt there for that but have all the photos. I was at home with my mother
  21. Well I was there for race one and I was surprised how many people were there. There was quite a few out on the lawns and in the public area. I didnt go up into the members stand though. I was also at Te Rapa on the 22nd December and that was worse. I didnt arrive until race 4 but in the car park there was only 2 full rows of cars. The day was dead and there were not alot of people around.
  22. It is not as good as it looks. For example if the jockey is an apprentice the stake and riding fee that you pay to his so called employer is still charged with the GST content. You are not paid GST on the stake that you receive but you have to pay GST on the nomination and accepteance fee so the small guy is still lossing out. I am in partnership with someone that is GST registered and in one instance they got a credit and I got a debit account. When you add all the GST onto the accounts we pay for our horse it makes is so much more expensive for a non GST registered person and people race a horse for a bit of pleasure fun and hopefully cover their costs but they way it is set up is hard to cover costs. Surely if we have to pay GST on nomination acceptance fees then NZTR should be paying stakes plus GST as well.
  23. shame you didnt get the trainer right. It is G Richardson not S Ritchie
  24. Only 7 arrests but how many were escorted off the course. 2 as Iwas arriving at 12.45 were being lead out. Then I saw at least another 6 being escorted off during the day when I was outside which wasnt all day. There is arrests and then there is people who were removed becasue of intoxication they both need to be counted.
  25. Look I dont begrudge the club geting the young ones along the area out the back was great for them but as I said being on a jockey club committee and dealing with the alochol there is standards that you have to stick too. Any intoxicated person firstly should not be served another drink and if escorted off the grounds should be recorded in an offical incodience book. It is hard work to balance the revenue streams I know this because as I said I am on a Jockey Club committee and we are a small country club so it is so much harder. We have big groups on some of our race days but we still cater for our owners. As I said I know the rules and if clubs or one or 2 clubs dont adhere to it all racecourses will be no alcohol and this was stated at our meeting with the alcohol licencing board last year. My main concern was I paid nearly 4000 for my horse to get down there then the entry fee and our airfares and accommodation and I was told sorryy you cant get in the stand to watch your horse race. As for the Melbourne cup I cant comment becasue I have never been on course but my comment to you is are all the owners denied an entry into the stand to watch their horse race. I BET NOT. I bet the jo public arent even allowed up into the members stand. Go to Elleslie on a big day and unless you have a ribbon on you ant get up the members stand to watch the race. As for being miserable I am not I am frustrated that I had to fight to see my horse run. No doubt you dont have or have never esperienced that
