Cheers guys - I certainly had a lot of luck along the way.
Looks like Hesi was right all along about the curse of the 1st draft pick - just struck in a slightly different way.

Well done TC!
Of course Exalted Adam was going to get up at the finish and snatch victory from me once again. They don't call it deja vu for nothing...
Accordingly, I also put a few dollars on it

Thank you very much !

Absolutely Howie! I look forward to Saturday mornings because of this comp (and not having to go to work of course).
What did Molloy call this comp? Dry? Boring?

Thanks Howie. You were right in your predictions about Geoff - both best bets won and one of those was a quinella. I was just lucky to nab a few winners in between (and lucky the rain came for Megablast).
13 from 13 doesn't count for much however if you don't make the play-offs.

Come on, Geoff ! You can do it. .................. This is your chance to go into PJ Super Comp folklore ....into the annals of PJ Super Comp history ......as the player who took down the 12-0 match-play champion extraordinaire.
So what do we know about Geoff ?
We know he's got the strongest pedigree, being by Mighty Blues Winner out of multiple Group 1 winner Mighty Blues Champion.
We know that he'll score in certainly one Best Bet race, and most likely both ...' cos that's his historical strength. We know he'll find at least one quinella, ....'cos quinellas are also a Geoff strength.
Throw in another couple of winners around the $8 / $10 mark ....and we have the makings of an upset here.
Also, with Geoff's known dislike for South island comp races at the sharp end of comps, PJ would appear to have done Geoff a real favour by opting for Pukekohe as the NZ venue rather than Riccarton.
Could unlucky number '13' be one step too far for the mighty champ TC ??
Sit back and watch, folks, it's gonna be a cracker.

Well there goes any remote hope I had . The only time I missed both BB races was when Howie pointed that I got a good share of BB races.
I wouldn't take any of my quinellas either now people. I bet TC is doing cartwheels as we speak!
I like his logic on North v South except that apart from Tauranga racecourse the place I dislike the most is Pukekohe. It is the type of place that Basil Brush wins. And remember that day we were there and that horse whose name escapes me, with form of 21-0-0-0 won! (and never placed again). I am predicting a big Sir Castleton score for us this week.
Still being positive, ALL the pressure is on TC this week and no one expects me to get close. Better go and look at the fields. I suppose Winx is not running down at Puke?

Don't you worry, Geoff. I "softened" TC up in Round 10 I think it was, my recollection being that my grand total $42 had TC "teetering on the brink" late in the piece.
Now it's over to you fella.

What's your question Porky? The QEII market was with Winx out.
Gailo Chop ran second but with Winx out is deemed the winner. $20 win dividend is great money when he would have paid closer to $6 in a market with Winx out. That's exactly why I suggested people pick the QEII as one of their races.
Congrats Catalano - nice to see a PJ regular win this comp.

a little tip for those who haven't picked yet - your expected return, and therefore your probability of winning this comp, is greater if you pick a horse in the Queen Elizabeth

All the best to you Howie - very tough opponent to come up against in trying to extend the winning streak.
10 selections in common, 10 different. Only one race where we have the same two picks (funnily enough one of the biggest fields). NZ best bet race in common but I'm very keen on The Great Southern which you don't have, and different best bet in Oz - Alward is my big money bet for the day. Couldn't decide between Brave Smash and In Her Time - love the latter but the second up factor swayed me away from her - may regret that decision.
In fact may regret a number of decisions - left out Jake The Muss (no run for four weeks), left out Show The World (no run for four weeks and jockey concerns), ......
Had a chuckle on the other forum when the owner was praising one of the "comps" for drawing 40 entries last week - that comp has a $500 prize. This comp gets 40 (sometimes 50) entrants week in week out and doesn't need prize money to make it great - love your work Peter J! What did the Pounder call it? Dry? Boring?
