  1. That's good of him. Hopefully he has notified stewards who can in turn notify punters ahead of putting their bets on. Speaking of Telegraph bets, the TAB are currently offering $8 on Kawi (I think until 5pm today?). I've taken some of that. Loves the track, nice trial, good draw and a race that tends to suit 1400m horses more than sprinters. No good thing but better than a 1 in 8 chance.
  2. Agree its a very good Telegraph field. Interesting thing for me is that Opie Bosson has accepted the ride on Heroic Valour at 55kgs. When was the last time he rode at that weight? I guess he's working his way down to Avantage's MM weight. If he plans to ride 0.5kgs over the Telegraph weight, will they tell punters in advance?
  3. Got it - looks good so far. Couple of questions: Do we have to place all bets on all 7 races before Race 1? Will the tote divvies refresh as people place their bets? (guess I'll discover the answer to this one as we go)
  4. Sam Collett breaks the trend - seven jockeys tied for the lead on 3 points after six races.
  5. Interesting jockey challenge at Rotorua today. After five races there are 15 different jockeys who have scored points, ie. no jockey has scored points in more than one race. Haven't seen that before. C'mon Sam!
  6. No i think what Skelly is saying is that if the dividend per Skelly's tote is say $0.60, then that is what you get. His tote is not offering any $1 minimums. Cool concept Skelly - I'll be in - I'm intrigued to see how it works - good luck with the website.
  7. It's almost like there are two P4Ps - polar opposites
  8. I was a huge fan of Skyweka a couple of years back when she won at Otaki and then the Duoro at Trentham, but I don't reckon she is going well enough now. Last start looked a bit unlucky but when she did get clear in the last 100m or so there didn't appear to be a lot of zip. Not for me today - which probably means it's time to get on Go To Man a better chance in my mind, especially with a little bit of give in the track, although I note the part owner of the favourite has his winning speech ready to go.
  9. Watch it again - contact with the 2nd horse was minimal and didn't affect its chances of winning the race. Connections of the 2nd horse must agree because they didn't lodge a protest. Your wallet talking perhaps?
  10. Nominated for this Saturday's Levin Classic at Trentham
  11. You're kidding right? Just a very good piece of assertive riding. Exactly what you want to see from the jockey riding the best horse in the race. You'd never see the "King" do that because he's lost his bottle. The second horse wasn't inconvenienced at all and Innes didn't lodge a protest so he can't have thought it was anything more than good competitive riding.
  12. Congrats to team Vidi Vici and their captain Howie - love your contribution to the comps and your unwavering optimism. 0 points for your team after two rounds and these were your words; "On our form today I can see us " Vidi Vici 's notching our first win tomorrow. We're not out of this yet, and heads remain high." Congrats also to John on the Super Comp grand slam for 2017 (and a tiny bit of '18): Summer-Autumn comp - winner (Hurricanes) Winter comp - winner (Reds) Spring comp - winner (Hurricanes) New Year comp - winner (Vidi Vici) He'll say it's just luck but if you've been on his team in these things you'll know it's not luck - he is incredibly competitive and doesn't do these things by half. Finished this comp with 6 wins from 7 matches - one of only two who did that I think. Suspect he won't be last pick in the first round of the draft the next time round.
