Really pleased 1.50.1 last 800 53.2 apparently privately timed last 800 52.8 off to Brisbane for the 10th and 17th Johnny told us mile racing will really suit her because of her high cruising speed, looks like he was right.

Not sure about best me track in the country, did they not recently start their short coarse races over a different distance.

There was talk of running a meeting a week before cup day at addington, obviously they haven't been to addington a week out , pretty sure addington dropped that date to set up for cup week in the past.

I'd probably run them January, yip give horses all year to earn points then run them out of their current season.

Take it from me the NZ cup won't be changing dates .

It was a very hard decision to make sending her to Australia, John Dunn told us we could win a couple more easy enough but then we would be up against the open class horses , I asked about sending her to Australia and he suggested Nathan Purdon. At this stage there seems to be a mare's race every Saturday and then a good carnival in Brisbane in July which has mare's race's. She will be coming home but only when Nathan thinks she won't be competitive, hopefully in about 4yr's time.

Bloody happy to have a runner on the two biggest days of the year, probably with a horse with the biggest racing group, just over three hundred. Beaten both times by the Allstars but no complaints there ,they are bloody good.

Everyone has a different criteria for how you rate a trainers performance , value for money, communication, strike rate, horse welfare, owner participation (can you go and help out at the stables etc) the list is endless, to judge on stakes alone is clearly your bench mark for me it is a combination of all of the above but as a industry bench mark and one which is rarely highlighted is the number of New Zealand starters per year and the Dunns clearly top that table every year.

This Dunn owner is more than happy, fourth in a NZ record Group one race then 2nd in a listed race from a mare we bought at the sales for 17,000 , the Dunn's do purchase quite a few at the sales but they are by no means the top lots.

Sunny methven you need more plans than a and b unless you are me , love to see a few of you guys at the Methven trying to run second.

Week and a half to go until I reclaim my Brown Pub punters cup, pencil it in, come see if your good enough to run second.

Had enough Pete's Dash was Matt's call then three horses went past, thats when I have a problem with someone continuing to hit their horse. Seriously that is not acceptable, perception is everything in this current climate with animal rights groups and that sort of drive does us no favors.

The drive on Pete's dash was disgraceful and does this industry a great disservice. Continuing hitting a beaten horse up the straight is just the sort of thing we don't need.

I don't usually comment on drives but when the commentator says Pete's dash has had enough and the driver keeps batting it down the straight someone needs a well earned Holliday . Not a good look for our industry.

Tried to find which Addington meeting you are talking about, fields are up for Friday and only 3 races with extended nominations for Sunday , maybe they have stepped up or am I blind

The ceo was a very good decision and was no surprise at all to anyone involved with Addington or are you talking about some other ceo

Can't wait for the 13th , looking forward to putting Westview on the punters cup for the fourth time later in the year, bring it on.

24 people in members area while the rugby crowd were lined up out the door to get into spectators bar. I do agree the members area is very disappointing on Sundays and have suggested owners are invited into that area . The overall crowd was good on Sunday but man I'm looking forward to Methven on the 13th of September.

One of the positives to come out of racing at addington twice a week has been meeting a real variety of owners we haven't hosted in the past. Sunday fields are indeed a poor relation to Friday's which is exactly as intended .
