  1. Certain issues seem to be forgotten. What about the board member people need to think what has happened earlier on.Wasnt that about drugs? MEMORY LOSS on certain peoples part they need to think before they write
  2. All this B...S... grow up . I started this TOPIC as testing was starting on the 1/1/2017 this was published in ON TRACK issue 400/AUGUST 2016 page 24 A rule change that hasn't happened why was it submitted the nzgra/riu need to address this rule change as it was a notice to all licenced persons.
  3. I rung nzgra and was told there will be changes when this new person starts a DR Stewart may be she will do something heres hoping or maybe its back to still waiting ! The money saved on petrol vouchers which is a large amount where has that gone ? blood test aren't that expensive .Only have to catch 1 trainer look at the dogs which have improved there times by a good amount . Catch 1 and the fine would cover a lot more blood test and the drug use would stop. Look at the dogs that lost form when the drug testing was announced now they are back winning. All that needs to be done is check the form of these dogs
  4. THIS MISTAKE SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE AN ENQUIRY THAT PERSON IS PAID, IN OTHER EMPLOYMENT MISTAKES CAN CAUSE ALOT MORE .WHAT OTHER MISTAKES HAVE GONE UNNOTICED
  5. DRUG TESTING WE WERE GIVEN A START DATE AT PRESENT WE HONEST TRAINERS ARE WAITING AND WAITING AND STILL WAITING.IS THIS A MISTAKE OR B... S... MAY BE IT COMES UNDER SPECIAL PROJECTS I WONDER WHOS RUNNING THIS LOL SO NZGRA STILL EMPLOY OLD STAFF, MAYBE THEY MAY EMPLOY SOME OF THE MORE TALENTED ONES AGAIN .IT WOULD FILL IN THE GAPS.
  6. Oh Cripes!!!! Hope all goes well for Sergio.
  7. As I have said b4 until us trainers can have a say and vote who and how greyhound racing is run nothing will improve. Last summer I rang ass ociation about kennelling after race one as I had a dog in the first and last race no room so I had to take that dog home couldn't leave it in car where it was bloody hot no shade at Wanganui what is this welfare of .racing up to still waiting for an answer. These clubs should be made to cater for dogs that have raced earlier and have kennel space to cater for all dogs on race day qualifiers included. Maybe SPCA will act far quicker, F__K the clowns at NZGRA The Wanganui club is getting $44,424 funding for concreting of driveway/parking I'm sure that will improve the lack of shaded areas and lack of kennelling . There are so many issues not being address maybe a vote of no confidence us trainers need a say not later but NOW
  8. Fair point. The nzgra should be footing the cost for that and putting that guy's ideas into action. Never mind Pussyfooting" around waiting for finance. They take enough from us trainers.
  9. Good example of a well maintained race track. Why aren't our tracks maintained as good as this?
  10. As ive said b4 greyhounds are athletes. Top explanation bunyarra why race on a unsafe surface. There are safety protocols in place for owners etc. Why not the same thing for greyhounds?
  11. Been breeding the odd litter because I enjoy greyhounds but the costs increase all the time not much left out of 10k at 22 months theres more to greyhound racing than a lot of people realise .If you breed sell early .If I sell any I charge the cost of the stud fee or straw at 8-10 weeks plus % of vet costs . Be careful if you go ahead there are dreamers out there get the cash up front don't do deals
  12. Just checked our emails. Greg sent a copy through. It's rule 5.4.
  13. Smoke alarms fire extinguishers rule been in place since 2014 just got a call from NZGRA
  14. Our kennels are under cover no power as we use touch lighting may be that is the reasoning . Waiting for a reply from NZGRA
  15. No there's not. When we had our last inspection done a few years ago, this thing with smoke alarms etc. was NEVER brought up.
  16. Just had an inspection done and failed. Just because I don't have any smoke alarms or fire extinguishers. Can anyone tell me when this rule came in? Next minute, all greyhounds will have to pass a "fire drill". They brought this rule in quick. Why didn't they bring in drug testing as quick, if not quicker? (for dogs)
  17. When will the trainers have more say or voting power to address who runs for office and certain topics which have been passed without any trainers input
  18. Sorry m8. It's not Marcie. We're from Waverley Beach.
  19. What a beautiful & regal looking boy! Happy retirement Crouchy. Woof Woof
  20. True m8. Someone made a "balls up" alright!
  21. I know a stand down can be over turned by a vet so 5 days or more it doesn't really matter its basically a guide line if a trainer wishes to challenge a vet they can
  22. Sack the lot Problem after problem looks like us greyhound people have no say. They get rid of good staff make stupid changes [ odd change acceptable drug 1 gets a yes except for the way it was introduced] stripes report what a time waster the list goes on and on . Who's making these needs to go and all the yes people what a great way to improve the industry NOT. What about the alcohol and drug rule do we need medical proof as certain drugs effect people differently. Must be health and safety that's come up with this they need to look at our tracks on wet days greyhounds health and safety do we get a say on this
  23. This list is a joke all trainers who have had problems with GAP need to email Noel or give him a call forget about contacting the kennel base go straight to no.1 his details in ON TRACK rang him last week I'm not the 1st keep hounding him don't wait act now. Got an email from GAP monthly news letter no phone call has a list of rehomers I wonder if they were all on the waiting list !!!
  24. Sorry that we didn't get back to you earlier m8. Go to the GAP re-homing page, click on trainer's info. Then you'll see the exact amount it costs for a fully vaccinated, registered & micro-chipped dog to enter the GAP programme. The site is called: Gap waiting list. Have fun reading. Cheers, Lottabull
  25. Heard problems with the GAP programme. Trainers still waiting for their dogs to go on list months later, other trainers ringing 1 day, in the program in a short amount of time. There's 81 on the list 9/9/2016 gets updated each month lot of dogs been waiting months to be rehomed not on it. .Greyhounds are retired non chasers, race injuries, old age etc. If and when a dog is accepted they must be injury free which is fair but when you tell the programme no free running why do they free run that dog then ring up days later come and pick your dog up it is injured collar and lead walk they love, smaller spaces not a paddock. We are charged $60 per dog if council registered, micro chipped up to date vet certificate more if not. Christchurch greyhound attacks small white dog both were on leads was it a GAP passed dog. We rely on the public to accept our retirees attacks like these don't help. Over 200k is spent each year, plus cost of Levin base. How many dogs fail the programme we only here about ones that have passed. Cat friendly after a few weeks its ongoing training. I have 2 inside dogs that would fail GAP, native birds come before feral cats dumping ground out my way dogs included. More thought is needed by NZGRA this is another problem trainers face.
