  1. if by "rave" you actually mean "excitement", then i think the CD could do with a bit more excitement
  2. Tony Lee is the greatest caller this country has ever seen and if he is available then he should be hired
  3. Does anybody here know what Brian Martin is actually doing these days? the greatest greyhound caller the country has ever had without question. If the rumours are true that the galloping code could be seeing Tony Lee return soon, then wouldnt it be good to have B Martin back as well? both left under a cloud but they are all class and were huge losses
  4. does anybody know why we cant get this issue sorted? the industry has always been playing catch up in terms of video replays, thankfully in the last couple of years access to all dogs videos has been a lot easier and is now easily accessible via the dogs.co.nz webssite which is excellent but we continue to have no video footage of first starters trials meaning punters need to bet blind which in 2016 shoouldnt be good enough. both gallops and harness have all horses trials videos online and surely the greyhounds should be doing the same, any thoughts?
  5. Can anybody remember the name of the on course commentator at the palmerston north dogs and he also called wairarapa, i'm going back a good 20 years...i think from memory he even trained a few, can't remember his name. can anybody enlighten me and what is he doing these days??
  6. couldnt agree more about rosanowski, his high pitched voice is hard on the ears..but have to disagree about his back up, daryl robinson, he is also hard on the ears, his diction is very ordinary and his style lacks smoothness, he sounds like he's out of the 1960's...dont think either of them are much chop to be honest
  7. easily the south, always has been and always will be,pity the caller is the weakest in nz
  8. why do you say no chance dustydreamnz? surely under different management he would be welcome back? Mark rozanowski has nothing n him, yes he knows his dogs but he sounds terrible and brian martin has lengths on him
  9. With no Tony Lee , it's easily Mark Mcnamara...but here's a question, i wonder if he threw hi hat into tthe ring to rreplace the recently departed Matt Hill from Sky Racing in Sydney...Mcnamara is a sydney boy, im sure he would love to head back and be skys premier caller
  10. Apparently him and his wife Megan are expecting a child sometime this year, is that going to mean the end of his south island commentating? hard to see him continuing to commute back and forth between the 2 islands with a young baby...and does it mean that the highly promising matt cross will get that fulltime slot in the otago region?
  11. Do you mean Jason Teaz? i think he dosent go too bad at the otago dogs but really seems to be a harness caller at heart. Somebody told me him and his wife are having a baby this year? surely he wont be able to stay in the south when that happens? or maybe she will move down
  12. yes agree that Darryl Robinson is ordinary. Does an ok job but that;s about it, horrible monotone voice that sounds like he is a caller from the 1960's....Peter Earley is still leading the way in my opinion but sometimes sounds llke he dosent want to be there
  13. When on earth are us addington fans going to be relieved of the pain we have to continue to be put through by listening to this commentator. he's been doing it forever and seems to be well past his use by date. he must be at retirement age? Surely addington is meant to be the premier track in NZ so it should have a commentator to suit. He almost never gets through a full field of sprinters, gets dogs wrong, gets close finished wrong and really isnt that flash of a commentator even without the mistakes. I guess the problem is who replaces him? isnt rossanowski from christchurch?
  14. I agree it is great to see T Lee back calling, even if it is not in NZ, lets hope he returns here one day...for those interested in how he is sounding in Malaysia, you can see replays at this link http://www.selangorturfclub.com/ i've also heard some mutterings around the local traps that his former protege who called the CD trials in the late nineties is sifting out a return to calling races
  15. Just curious, does anybody know what Brian Martin is doing with himself these days?? any chance of him coming back calling?
