Looks like some very juicy early divvies available for Randwick, if you take the punt that the track will be heavy, inside rail off and a number of scratchings will reduce the field sizes. The forecast for late Friday, early Saturday looks bleak. It won't take much money to multi up a couple of $3 to $6 place divvies for a nice weekend.

I'll leave the easy task of actually selecting them to you. Just a thought.

Life as we know it is moving on (called change) rapidly due to the evolution of technology.

We all used to gather (like an appointment) at 6.00pm to watch the TV News as our daily primary source of keeping up to date with affairs of the world. Now, news dribbles in all through the day or we can can set a time that suits us to watch recorded news releases, podcasts, youtube, twitter etc on laptops, phones, smart TV's or Ipads. The massive reduction in eyeballs on the traditional TV news and the consequent reduction in advertising revenue which is the lifeblood for their existence, has drifted over to the new platforms as it should.

The very simple but lethal explanation. The ideological stuff (no pun about the woke private media company intended) being discussed here is a total red herring imho.

The staff from Newshub will just have to do what many of us have had to do, some more than once, and that is to recreate themselves to find a place in the new world. We did not have a public forum or profile to moan about it for a couple of months, we just got on with it.

To the original point, if any of the Newshub crew that get laid off have something to offer the racing game, it is an avenue they could pursue - certainly seems a good idea. What we all suspect is that those doing racing's talent selection would not know a good get if it bit them in the arse.

IMHO, if you are on twitter, go to @Ellerslie_Races and watch the one liners from the jockeys after 3 of the races, on their way back to the jockeys room. There are some gold nugget comments that could lead to some winners over the next few weeks. I took particular note of a couple of comments from Wiremu Pinn - he gives Just a Floozie a huge rap. Let's see how good a judge he is.

It would be great if they could do this after every race, but not sure how trainers would respond?

This looks to me like the elephant in the room, because if true there would be no easy fix.

On that turn into the home straight, horses coming around from the back are only getting a slight knock from inside and they are getting shifted several widths - looks like a negative camber. A huge advantage to upfront or on the rail runners.

Would love to hear an opinion from a jockey that has ridden the track in anger and not afraid to give an honest opinion.
