  1. I think if you check out the background of Dean Shannon from Entain, you will find he does indeed have unique ways of bolstering female involvement in his internet activities. https://www.theage.com.au/national/sex-sells-once-again-for-online-porn-broker-20030117-gdv2u6.html You can expect some promotions to generate activity that you could not even conceive. Did they really do rigorous due diligence with these guys or just get dazzled by the money offer?
  2. I have thought for years, that a fundamental change they could implement to make rugby more exciting is a simple one. Make the fields 10 metres wider - much harder to defend movement of the ball through the hands.
  3. There is a valid reason for that kemosabe. Up until today, humans had to study for a lifetime to develop expertise in a field of interest. With the advent of the internet and social media, we can now gather a "lifetime" of factual and practical information (as in just google it) in a very short time frame on any field of interest. Therefore the common "slight" being used of "so you are an expert in . . . " is a flawed argument today. The person commenting may in fact have compiled more expert information to form their opinion than people previously considered to be experts. They also may be looking at total rubbish and be totally wrong, but my point is if someone holds/expresses an opinion, you can't just assume they don't know what they are talking about.
  4. Billy Pinn at Mornington today - races 2, 6, 7 & 8. Odds are generous so let's see if he can strut his stuff. I think he's getting under their guard, particularly races 2, 7 & 8.
  5. Break open the piggy banks. Just read Wiremu Pinn is off to ride for Mick Price - claiming 3kg's. I feel just like Grant Robertson when he found out you just make a phone call and print as much money as you want. https://loveracing.nz/News/40147/PinnsignsoffwithAwapunifour-timer.aspx
  6. I can see why you are well named
  7. This country is blessed with a large number of trainers who have the ability to get a "good" horse to win good races. My answer to your question is: simply try to identify & then avoid those trainers that cannot. IMHO, give the same top horse to any one of the trainers you name, and many, many other names, and success on the track would be similar, if you can somehow take out bad luck/acts of god.

  22. Surely, the test of who can buy quality yearlings is very simple. 1) Which horse won the race? 2) Who bought it as a yearling? 3) Do they therefore know what they are doing = YES 4) Who has done this the more often than others to date in Premier $$$$ races = GOAT The question of who is operating a successful business model is a totally separate argument. If the Te Akau bank manager is happy, they look like they will survive another year & its still fun, I presume they could rightfully consider themselves successful. If new blood wants to race a horse and don't like them for whatever reason, there are plenty of other games in town. One can easily admire the RogerJames/Mark Purdon style (crudely described here) of take any/all horses they like the look of and if it does not look like going to a high level - sack it promptly and replace it. It's not the only successful model though if you are talking simply making money. The only assured way to lose money, is to be an owner of slow horses. Even that can still be fun, if you keep it affordable.
  23. No word from Gubellini yet to replace scr of la crique in Well R7? He must be offline, or in Auckland. Can we replace 4 with 1 (Coventina Bay) on his behalf please?
