  2. Please enter me as an individual entry into a random team. At least I should survive more than 2 weeks, per the loser get laid comp. Cheers.
  3. I noticed this morning that Pam Robson's horse in the 9th at Ashburton today finally had a good draw, blinkers going on and Lily Sutherland claiming 2kg's so I had a modest nibble at $15 win & $4.50 place. My theory was on a good track at Ashburton where you want to be handy and hang on, from that draw he might be a chance. How did I know the trainer (Pam) must have instructed her jockey to just ease out of the barriers, cruise at the back til the turn then weave your way through the field to grab them on the line. I got it wrong there but congrats to the connections. Love it when a plan comes together.
  4. Now do race 3 - a Group 1. What chance was Dreams Are Free against the stablemates - or is this just the way it goes? Makes it impossible to consider betting on them when a stable has 2 runners or more in a race.

  10. If the insurer of this competition was a rugby loving Irishman who voted Labour, it was not a great weekend upon reflection.
  11. TA - without trying to come across as "school maam'ish - every person in prison is entitled to vote, if their sentence is under 3 years. If they vote outside their electorate, which will be many or most, they are a special vote. What I am saying is that many of the 500,000 specials will come from those prison votes as that's how the system works. Prison populations being down will not affect the notion that many specials yet to be counted will come from prisons. IMHO, you will not get a meaningful covid enquiry - you just gotta be satisfied in the knowledge that they all know that they cocked it up big time, and they were all complicit. The hope is they will not do the same again. You now have grown ups in charge and some really smart people who will be making decisions. The Greens and the radical maori will be in a padded sound proof room screaming to themselves. Let's go NZ!
  12. A couple of nuances with regard to media obsessions. Media claim ACT will require a referendum on the Treaty interpretation. My thoughts - save the money & negotiations grief just quietly introduce the changes into everyday society and law to reflect the view of most, that everyone is equal. That's how Labour went about things - just do it. Second is the media obsession with Winston being required/involved. 2 things here, Winston is now older & has different objectives. He just wants to get NZ back and will support many/most of the National/Act agendas. After special votes are counted, they (Luxon/Seymour) both know they will need Winston for stability because - MANY OF THE SPECIAL VOTES WILL BE COMING IN FROM THE PRISONS - who do you think they will have voted for?
  13. My personal thoughts (I am maori - grandmother full blooded) is that the country as a whole, abhors how far and fast this has been taken by a few opportunist radicals. If we want to go forward as a nation we have to move toward all being "Kiwi's". To suggest that because someone who is maori knows more about the water, or the land, or the fishing resource these days is logically total nonsense. It is all just a rort to flog taxpayer funds and time it stopped. Let's see what Saturday brings.
  14. Here's the obvious solution, which the media just don't want to go near because they are obsessed with personality politics. NZ First and Act have enough policy overlap/alignment to team up, work together and ensure National make changes to this ideological crap and co-governance that Labour brought in. Both parties seem to agree that we should all have equal rights and opportunities. Winston has a wealth of political experience and David Seymour is a smart cookie. Together they will have the numbers & nous to ensure National do something tangible, and National has the political cover to say they were forced into it. We need to get back to being an equal opportunity society. Then they just need to work out justice, education, health, infrastructure & entitlements - the easy peasy stuff.
  15. Why? Why did the NZ TAB "buy" a slot in this race, and what money did they use? Why are they advertising for us mug punters to bet on the horse they "sponsored"? I must have missed something on the way through this transaction - looks like they are doing the gambling on this (ego?). Can they (NZ TAB) lose money on this transaction, or is this just how Entain rolls? Probably a simple explanation, but I missed the motivation for this somewhere along the journey. Good luck to Mark & his team regardless.
  16. The media like to have us all running this way and that over every little issue & every utterance from these clowns in Wellington but it is a total waste of time and stress for most. Here is the stripped down version of what our election is about. If you want a nation striving for equal outcomes for all, vote Labour, or Greens, or if you have the option and it turns you on, the Maori party. If you want a nation offering equal opportunity for all, vote National, or Act or New Zealand First. It's that simple for you and me. Your party vote will decide which direction we all head, with smaller parties hoping for a big chunk of the party vote, to get them some tangible policy leverage with the major party. You can get down in the weeds and argue each issue all you like (budget this, co-governance that, etc, etc) but it won't move the needle of what they represent. Either the left or the right will win the election, & then you just have to shut your eyes & trust the side that wins (who will represent the majority of us, by definition of a democratic election outcome) does a good job of spending taxpayer money, creating new money out of thin air or borrowing from richer nations, to achieve the goal they are projecting. God help us all!
  17. An even worse series of falls in race 7. Horse outside leader goes down and a concertina occurs as the field goes over the top. Looked nasty, so hoping the jocks are not seriously harmed.
  18. Anyone else like this girl? Emily Jollands -born in Lower Hutt and now a world traveller.
  19. Another Saturday, and can't access the site for any form, or is that the point. Do these guys want any turnover? Is there any reason why it can't cope?
  20. One for value (the brave or foolhardy) today. Ballina race 5 Son of Heroic at $15's/$3.50 currently. A couple of runs whacking away & blinkers went on last start from the outside gate, the run after dropping back from the gate may be considered a little unlucky, if looked at through rose glasses. A couple of favoured runners scratched, a good draw, should race handy today and no apparent champions in this field of 10 makes e/way look over the odds to me.
  21. Hey Palliser, it is not Graeme Rogerson, it is Graham Richardson lols.
  22. If you backed anything in a race against Wiremu Pinn with a 3kg claim, you deserve to lose your dough
