  1. Totally agree have some friends who have shares in a couple of horses with Shaune and they have had them with Frank as well . They sound like a great family . Also like Graham Richardson i have shares in a few horses with him and you couldn't meet a more honest down to earth guy . they welcome everyone and the great thing is if your horse ain't doing it he's straight up . I have had experiences with another trainer who runs them and they are never going to do good but loves sending the monthly accounts
  2. whisper is Auckland Cup then they reckon genuine chance at Melbourne Cup however i don't think this year well i can't see this year ? when market opened on Auckland cup he was paying 21 i know some connections that got on him then hethen won his first start at Ellerslie and it dropped to 14 and now is 8 after the week end?
  3. Interesting that the boy Gibbs after the race said it needed another trial really ? but been on its home track we thought we would give it a start . HYPE HYPE HYPE
  4. This will be a great race on the 1st some up and coming stars doing battle Hasslehoff, Rasa Lila , Victor Hugo, Tavy, Consensus . However i may get shot down here but i'm leaning towards Victor Hugo to come out on top and my reason is the combination of Baker/Foresman and Bosson will just be to strong. And to be honest I think Victor Hugo is just been set perfectly for this race with a huge run from second to last on the turn into the straight at Te Rapa and Opie has said will improve from the run. I would love to be proven wrong by all the Hasslehoff fans though.
  5. May have ended a bad day for Cooksley but he rode Victoryshallbemine perfectly in Race 3 it was a vintage performance . Afterwards when they interviewed Graham Richardson his instructions were to Cooksley" they will probably doodle down the back straight but keep going forward" for which he did from third last to about fifth and then just kicked on to win have to be happy with that paying $26
  6. Possibly is but personally I know a lot of trainers pass on price they pay which to me is far more inticing
  7. Interesting yesterday major headlines media pushing cart before horse " Modi proceeding with 3.3 million civil case " Then this morning on stuff hasn't made up his mind on whether to proceed. I'm over it Mcullum hasn't helped himself with 3 differing statements , Vincent well need i say anything about that Scum . And now the anti corruption unit making the statement we should commend Mcullum for coming forward with his statements .Give me a break the court documents show in black ink NOT GUILTY there was not enough evidence to prove the crowns case . Mr Mcullum has a habit of dodging bullets and making statements that suit the occasion ( Ross Taylor Debacle ). And now Vermair racing good on him for setting this business up he's buying nice bloodstock and hes in it for business but i bloody near choked on my cornies the other morning where i received a email to see if i would be interested in buying a share in either of 2 horses Vermair purchased at the Ready to runs purchase price i think and don't quote me $100 k price for 10% share 15k and one for $55k and i think it was 7 1/2 k for 10% wow and your trying to entice new people into buying shares ?
  8. I read this morning Avondale has purchased there own gates 16 gate Simtrac be here in February good on them . And as for the excuse on there premier day that there was to much wind on the motorway to bring gates up from Cambridge what a "crock of shite"
  9. Apparently back in saddle next week
  10. Super professional rider no mucking about and gives good in site to what the horse felt like or needs . He will be back in the winning circle soon i would imagine. Just to add Des Coppins interviewed Trudy Thornton yesterday she sits on 966 winners so a big milestone coming up . Trudy commented she is absolutely loving racing and has know plans to retire yet good on her
  11. Well we must be doing something right in the breeding industry however will this have a detrimental affect on our racing in the future? A few statistics from yesterday's sales 200 lots went through the ring there were 49 withdrawals ,37 passed in, 84 sold to Overseas buyers and 30 staying on our shores .
  12. Quite possibly could have a big job i suppose and you could expect a little leeway but i don't think they were very accurate on this one
  13. I agree the work she had done before this race would have suggested a bit more of tightened dividend but thats the TAB ,s bad luck but the comments i thought were surprisingly OTT .
  14. Fair enough Scooby over dramatised the situation what im saying is that its alot tougher in open class for a 4 YO who has had a stellar run as a 3 YO I was at the Caulfield Cup and just on looks and condition i didn't have him in my top 10 on that day compared to when i saw him as a 3 YO in the Derby. Maybe it was the condition where he was stabled ?but again i thought and there my thoughts only maybe after his 3rd start over there they possibly could have looked harder into what they thought the problem was . So i think it was a combination of the explanation "ASTHMA" and the quality horse flesh he was up against but tend to add more substance to the latter explanation. Don't get me wrong i rate the horse
  15. What im talking about is open class runners over a mile to mile and a half
  16. I certainly didn't feel like that in Melbourne when i was there ha ha I think its four year old itis . How many top three olds do you see struggle as a 4 Year old where they race older horses who are tough as hell , I think VSB was a shining light in NZ as a 3 YO however you go to Aussie there are 50, 60 , 70 as good if not better its just a reality check he will come back
  17. I bring reference to the comments on the TAB site not very complementary on the horse rated it a no chance and its win in listed race comment was not a strong field I wonder if they really watch the races some times these scribes . As for Richie a bloody top bloke top trainer backed up with a great wife who is a big part of the business. He has some coals in the fire when it comes to the Oaks with Strada Cavallo, and possibly Mistrahma and Tessastock . and as Gubellini has mentioned has some very nice 3 YO in the stable
  18. Move back to Monday night I don't know why they dropped DA possibly understand the other 2 Castles and Shailer as they have moved (Castles) and Shailer possibly has other things to be doing. Last thing any trainer or Jockey wants to do is go on TV on what is regarded a day off .
  19. POGO are you still P----d off about the Rugby because i think Miss Payne summed you up nicely
  20. Mr Gee I take issue with you saying Anderson is talking through his wallet he is doing what any good manager should be doing and that is protecting and or sticking up for his charge . Darryl/any manager would never leave them to fend for themselves thats why they are called a "Manager"
  21. Yes Gubes a fantastic horse who will only get better with age I will be following
  22. I was at Caulfield to watch the race last Saturday a massive day with Mongolian khan winning He was a pick by the scribes all week . There coverage of racing is amazing the depths they go to to get the full story on the horses is amazing . However although Mongolian Khan won, there was a horse that took my eye which was Gust of Wind Sarge said they would need luck in the running but my prediction is watch this horse in Autumn beautifully put together a athlete
  23. The thing that amazes me with VSB they have changed his racing pattern instead of sitting in behind and running on they are now going forward and trying to blitz them . 1 it won't work with the better horses and jockey's over there and 2 What is the reason for change ?
  24. I like It's a Wonder R2 and Spiker R6 but also All Razzle Dazzle
