Horse should have been named Sweeped under the Carpet Gubes

I have a mare by Guillotine called Miss Schick she was one of the first ( If not the first) Guillotine mare to become a broodmare and gave birth to a colt by Danger Looms in fact is about to be weaned so i'm hoping to see how he develops and where we go from here . Miss Schick is a young broodmare after a training accident she was retired to the Broodmare paddock a nice type so fingers crossed

Yes rdytdy a spell is where she's at off to the Hogans for a decent break . I spoke to richie yesterday he said she looked a tired horse has been up for a while 8 races this prep , so we look forward to her next prep as a 4 year old time time time is so important for her development

Well we finished 9th it showed our girl has 6 months to a year to go until hopefully up to that standard which we new but you have to try and she did that .Very happy with this prep 8 starts and about 16k in stakes . Its a real emotional roller coaster not quite knowing what was going to happen yesterday but glad that it has happened

Her Breeding suggests over ground no problem Lisa Allpress rode her last start but because of suspension wasn't available tomorrow so Gryllsy is on who rides her a bit in track and i think trials . Shes a very relaxed type nothing phases her she was knocked horribly in last start when Matt came off at Matamata she dusted herself off and settled quickly back into rhythm and actually cruised to the line with a couple of taps to the shoulder for a filly to get smashed like she did and not loose it big time shows to me temperament you need in a distance horse and personallyi think she will only get better

Well call me a Virgin i have had horses for a number of years but tomorrow i have one lining up in a group race for the first time in the Mckee Family Sunline Vase . I have had others that have gone close but injuries have intervened . Nervousness has set in with ultimately the Oaks the target however that's in the future she needs to get passed this one although sitting there about's on the Oaks order . The horse is Mistrahma and a Racecafe stalwart Gubellini and i have shares in her . We are probably lucky because we have always said she will need time and both agree that her 4 year old year and beyond will be her go but she has been brought along nicely by Richie and you just never know what might happen but "YOU HAVE TO BE IN TO WIN" so let the sleepless night begin ha ha

Listening to the comments on Earlies show they reckon it will be a dead 5 on Saturday now with the draw i can see Opie dictating the race on Get That Jive he is the master

I think track condition may play a big part to be honest alot of the horses may struggle unless it stays fine for the rest of the week i still like Get That jive but the way Valey girl ran at Te Rapa on that ground must be shortening in the odds

I was after a answer today about what the requirement was for nomination for the Oaks in 3 weeks time . I had a idea and passed it past a couple of people who i respect and would possibly know the answer . Everyone on here Knows Gubellini my partner in crime in shares in a few horses he suggested i call George Strickland the handicapper for which i did however phone was engaged so i thought to myself well why don't i call NZTR head office I started with Reception a lovely young lady answered so i posed the question to her with a answer of " I'm unsure and i don't know who to ask but i will ask my boss when they get back from Lunch" this was 2.35 pm so maybe they were in the top office eating curry. However i heard her ask another person they didn't know so she put me through to another person for which i missed there name but got a answer i think rating points ? however yet again this wasn't the end of this saga the receptionist said look we arent sure but i will ring you back for which she did in 10 minutes and said definately rating points . Now this was fine but the other question i was going to ask was what happens if there are several on same points but thought better of it . I then thought lets ring George who answered and spelt it out perfectly he did look up some infomation and qualified the rules perfectly and in actual fact its not a exact science it is rating points however if there a say 4 horses on same points they will look at where they raced how they went what they were up against and something i found interesting they will look at the distance of the race and break it down that way stake money doesn't really come into it anyways i know how its decided now . BUT what a mission at headquarters just to many curries one thinks

Its interesting you say this i was talking to our trainer today hes finding it extremely difficult to find hoops with experience at the moment now hes had over 20 winners this season his exact words he has several at Matamata and still cant find hoops for two runners on Saturday. The RIU have caused a fare bit of mayhem in suspensions and now our top ones are moving off shore for a few months

What perplexes me as of 3 weeks ago the Hoff Phenonomen was the rage in the Logan camp with massive calls from the stable partly driven by the media but who fed the media i would think the stable . At that point i pondered and thought this horse is been set up for a fall the cart before the horse scenario. I do rate the horse but he's along way off . I know one owner personally they weren't particularly happy with the hype which i can understand he has been in the game long enough to know a champion and has said he needs more time at least another year. As off last week the whole angle has changed it was now a trip to get him to acclimatise to travel and get experience my opinion it was a hell of a risk taking him there a big cost, he could have had some decent trips within NZ . He has shown he's not there yet and a work in progress he may get there but not this season in my opinion . A example of another horse that i think is coming along nicely but keeps out of the limelight which will perhaps get a group race somewhere is Snapshot 5 wins and 2 seconds from7 starts a totally different horse to the Hoff but managed a different way some high profile owners as well . Graham Richardson has said the horse needed time i don't think it ran until a 5 year old now thats one i follow you can see a path the horse is going building nicely that to me is getting the horse confidence and hopefully a decent group race chance in the future . Please don't bollock me over this blurb its my opinion and my opinion only I do have several horses and at this stage none at this class but one day you never no
