MEETING NEWS Rangitoto Classic Trainers Decided The Rangitoto Classic ($350,000) is to be staged at Ellerlsie on Saturday 2 March 2024. This race is open to all horses not trained by a top-ten trainer by NZ prizemoney as at 30 November. It will run as a handicap race over 1500m with a maximum weight of 62kg and a minimum weight of 53kg. There are no apprentice allowances and a 14 horse starting limit. The field will be selected in order of rating with horses on the same rating being put in order of preference by the handicapper.
