What a joke this all becoming. A Dead 4 and they cant even race against the rail and yet a Dead 4 at Ellerslie and they race against the rail. Des Coppins your column will be hilarious this week when you tell us the rail was okay yet again. When will you own up to the fact you have no idea on your track.

The reason the timing system we produced wasn't introduced was that we showed that you couldn't produce the sectional times correctly because the actual official course distance and the actual distance differed. Levante ran 1.06.18....a WORLD RECORD.
The Wellington Guineas over 1400 was 1.23.17 and the 1100 Wellesley in 1.03.01. Bankers Choice ran 1600 in 1.37.80....so the track wasn't lightening fast based on those races. On that Levante ran each 100m in 5.507. That means that she runs the 1000m in 55.07 and beats the 2yo's by 2.5 seconds or 5l per second being 12.5 lengths. That the other horse ran a nose behnd means that two horses broke the world record.
And just on a small note, what happened to the distances of a nose, a head or a neck. On Loveracing, the margin was .1 lengths...Really? Who's idea was that? A person with no history?

Great to see our echo win one for the south with the boys from rural Canterbury enjoying the occasion, that's what racing is all about, congratulations to them.

Good start for PI as a broodmare sire Dopey. His dam sire Indian Ridge was a champion GB broodmare stallion and PI is almost a complete outcross of ND.

Wow😮 I could not believe my ears when I tuned into watch race 2 from Trentham and learnt of the abandonment - How many times have we been down this track and nothing has changed..... I'm a 10 percent owner in two gallopers and seriously considering whether I'd go again in NZ 🤔
A 5 or 10 percent share in a Go Racing UK import to race in Australia looking more and more attractive with muck ups like this.
Really feel for the owners who didn't get a run today at Trentham.... Shafted again🙄

Here is something else that shows how we are worse off with co- mingling. In the good old days we used to be able to scoop any pool with a percentage ticket, even back before decimal currency, now we are bound by ozzie rules that say a 50c = 50% ticket for example can no longer scoop the pool as it had always done before,in short we get to win less money for the same investment. The jackpots created by this system stack up to millions of held back cash that is not being reinvested, there is always money being held back from what would previously have been paid out,do the jackpots create enough of a boost to turnover,or would the knowledge that you could scoop the pool with a % ticket be better( think terminating pick6)

Romantic Time found a dream run on the inside to give trainer William Stone his biggest success to date in the Group Three Ire Incentive Scheme Dick Poole Fillies' Stakes at Salisbury.
The daughter of Time Test looked to have compromised her chance by being slowly away - but she recovered under a patient ride by Hollie Doyle to put herself into contention. The step up to six furlongs for the first time suited Romantic Time, as the 28-1 outsider quickened in the final furlong to win by a length from Pearl Glory.
Stone, who is based at West Wickham in Cambridgeshire, said: "That was super. Hollie gave the horse a great ride.
"The step up to six was great and I think she was a bit unlucky last time (at Newbury). She got going a bit late and met a bit of trouble in running which didn't help her.
"I don't know what we'll do now next because we came here not knowing if she'd stay six, so I couldn't really look at anything for her until we got today out of the way. We'll just look at different options and go from there."
He added: "I'm absolutely thrilled to get my first Group winner. It's brilliant."
