Been wondering........things going well at the moment....... Good time to be involved with the prize money increases, new innovation races etc etc.... BUT..... How are we really travelling? Are current betting turnover figures enough to fund and sustain the industry if Entain pull pin? Are Entain making a profit from NZ racing? Or are they running at a loss while they try and turn the ship around?

2019  Melbourne Cup on VOW AND DECLARE near the ride of the century by Willow after drawing wide and working forward . And Winning for Australia. 
And Craig has been to Ukraine 3 times to try and help with humanitarian aide to the war -torn country. (his wifes home country)
Be hard to find a better more honest bloke at the racecourse. with Jimmiestar he Gets beat very late on , on one horse who was up in grade and the world is ending for some poor punter somewhere  (Willow rode 2 winners on the day as it was ) . best the Punter goes to Crimea Ukraine and see's what the end of the World is really like. 

The draw and a better horse on the day beat Jimmy, plain and simple. 

Always liked his riding and feel confident backing his horses if I have a bet....... Seems like a top bloke as well...... Always remember a few years ago when he gave a shout out to the dying man who was trackside in his hospital bed. 
Guessing he had to make a split second decision with Jimmystar..... Didn't work out, but he apoligised to connections. 
If he'd won we'd all be saying it was the ride of century 🤣😂🏇

And if he'd won, they'd all be saying what a brilliant ride from such a tricky barrier with a horse that usually likes to get back.
On my ratings it's his best ever run.

Kate is ok and has been discharged from hospital battered  and bruised but is ok  

All we heard was Emily's voice and on the second draw she was one horse in arrears. I prefer something like the Melbourne Cup draw when there is some human action, reaction and interaction as owners pick a number out of a barrel. Just mho.

Justin Evans the poor man's Tony Lee. It will be a sad day next Saturday when Tony "retires" from the commentary box.

For sure some are never happy...not everyone can own a top class horse and these battlers now get a chance to recoup something...can only be a good thing I would of thought, but hey thats just me.

This was a shambles of a race caused by a lack of early pace. The comment about Entain is overly negative. We have seen a number of big positives from them incl big stakes increases, Pearl series etc   But they can't fix everything in NZ racing overnight.

Sorry to hear Paul passed away overnight. I didn't know Paul well but he was great support during my time as President of South Canterbury racing. Condolences to his family.

Hopefully she makes it back to raceday riding in due course, very talented rider🏇
