  1. Iffraaj announced at $15k down from $17.5k and off the back of good performances. This seems responsible defendable and admirable..... Disclaimer: I won't be breeding one this season.
  2. yes great family... Disclaimer: I have a 9 win group 3 placed ORielly mare from her as well. :-)
  3. Good luck to the guys brave enough to pay up for a start - the current favorite overreach draw's one and Ruud Awakening draws the outside. draw attached. http://www.racenet.com.au/news/88819/The-barrier-draw---2013-Golden-Slipper
  4. i foaled her down, she was a very strong type who stood up quickly. From mamory was an early foal in the season was atheletic. early running type wo deserved her value. Good luck to the buyers.
  5. Sherif good to meet you at karaka and hope you get a nice colt to train out of it. Cheers Dopey
  6. front running bias? also need to look at sectionals, but looked like a run that was there to get him ready / make him more complete. nice horse.
  7. Fully fledged sold well and some good judges have one... Good to them and the nom du jours as well . Great types. Boy this game is a long play.
  8. Iffraaj and guillotine both enjoyed good performances today at Auckland... Notwithstanding the obvious bug guns. Guillotine in particular enjoyed a very good ready to run set of run ups and a good effort in the two year old race today. I'm predicting a wow factor horse coming in the future for thus horse. I have an iffraaj filly so will remain modest on that feedback.... But bloo&y good going :-)
  9. no...an excellent story... you should do the next in the trillogy The Da Vinci Code, then Angles and Demons....you just need a name for the threequal.
  10. who said Otago Uni is any good anyway...I'm a Canterbury man
  11. people forget this guy was a top sprinter in the UK. The July Cup is a good race and having watched the last 20 years of it on youtube you can see a number of sires that stood over here coming from the race.... in general if you were running on at the finish you ended up being a stallion of some potential....e.g Stravinsky, etc If you were not running on at the finish...well....Paris House comes to mind. interesting to watch if you want a look.
  12. its likely that O'Reilly is just a good broodmare sire....a bit like saying XYZ stallion over a zabeel mare is a good cross, perhaps largely becasue Zabeel is ...well just good!
  13. ..but hes only about 10 days old. 2nd foal of a pentire mare.... strong enough - without being a standout... It would be interesting to hear from those who have broken horses....
  14. Historically , the payments back to 10th have been 'very important' to NZ'er who have gone in the race...and don't tell me that they have earnt enought gettting there... Of course the issue now is getting in the race. There have beewn some historic entries that were there on past performance rather than strong chance status - but then if you had qualified would't you have run !!!??? I would.
  15. Tom Rolfe is the dam sire of St Reims second dam, the mother of L'Quiz - a very strong build up of the no. 9 family ... If you have time for a classic horse... I not a good breeder has Kate (St Reims) going well at the moment...starting at Hawkes Bay this weekend in the HAWKE'S BAY BREEDERS GOLD TRAIL 3YOF STAKES 3YOF SW
  16. looking in teh current stallion register (page 176) would list War Hawk II if there was ... at it captures all stallions in the book with that horse in the pedigree (to the 5th generation anyway). you might find this interesting: sorry if the formatting doesnt work but the link is here: http://www.idshs.com.au/perl/search.pl?op=family&index=war_hawk&gens=5 4 Half-Siblings by the Sire 1.FAST FRIGATE xx (IRE) - 1974 Grey Thoroughbred Stallion Sea Hawk x Swift Protectress [PEDIGREE][FAMILY][sIRE & DAM LINES][ALL PROGENY][MALE PROGENY][REVERSE PEDIGREE][TRIAL PEDIGREE] 2.GENERAL IRONSIDE xx (IRE) - 1973 Grey Thoroughbred Stallion Sea Hawk x Come Dancing [PEDIGREE][FAMILY][sIRE & DAM LINES][ALL PROGENY][MALE PROGENY][REVERSE PEDIGREE][TRIAL PEDIGREE] 3.SCALLYWAG xx (GB) - 1973 Grey Thoroughbred Stallion Sea Hawk x Scammell [PEDIGREE][FAMILY][sIRE & DAM LINES][ALL PROGENY][MALE PROGENY][REVERSE PEDIGREE][TRIAL PEDIGREE] 4.SUNBITTERN xx (GB) - 1970 Grey Thoroughbred Mare Sea Hawk x Pantoufle [PEDIGREE][FAMILY][sIRE & DAM LINES][ALL PROGENY][FEMALE PROGENY][REVERSE PEDIGREE][TRIAL PEDIGREE] 2 Half-Siblings out of the Dam 1.CHIEFTAIN xx (USA) - 1961 Brown Thoroughbred Stallion Bold Ruler x Pocahontas [PEDIGREE][FAMILY][sIRE & DAM LINES][ALL PROGENY][MALE PROGENY][REVERSE PEDIGREE][TRIAL PEDIGREE] 2.TOM ROLFE xx (USA) - 1962 Bay Thoroughbred Stallion Ribot x Pocahontas [PEDIGREE][FAMILY][sIRE & DAM LINES][ALL PROGENY][MALE PROGENY][REVERSE PEDIGREE][TRIAL PEDIGREE] 1/2 TOM ROLFE is found in stallions: Ekraar (4) No Excuse Needed (5) Rios (5) St Reims (5) 1/2 Chieftain is found in sire Red Giant (5) Hope that helps...
  17. won like a very promising stayer of the future...
  18. another who is consistantly getting winners....if he has a good three year old result in NZ his status is assured...if not....assured in a differnt way. looks promising so far... disclosure: I have one (soon)
  19. Her father Brian O'Shea is a partner there. 07-827 6693
  20. can you give me a idea as to why the prices are going up.
  21. I would try to bring her back to average...especially if its her first foal....there will be many suggestions.... You dont see many small ones win big races at Flemington in Melbourne (always exceptions..tidal light etc). some horses that can leave good size that might be worth a look (without knowing pedigree) include but not limited to: any suggestions Nom Du ju (sp) iffraaj Falkirk is purhaps a strong version for you with slightly less size if yo ugo that way... more importantly what are you trying to breed to race where...???
  22. The mother Egyptian Queen, a great mare who should have been nominated for broodmare of the year, is buried in my back paddock...nice claim to fame !? Egyptian Queen left: G1 Egyptian Raine (Desert Sun) G1 Egyptian Ra (woodborough) $1M earner in Hong Kong also (by al Akbar) 3 million dollar earners, from three different stallions make her a b. good mare !!! RIP.
  23. I support your thought and have raced such a filly / mare. Good point and well articulated.
