  1. You are shooting the messenger here a little Ohokaman. As I have explained before, the pages in the 'liftout' sections on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are provided to newspapers by the NZ Racing Board. They are supposedly doctored to cater for each area eg: Addington fields run in full form here while Auckland is abbreviated and then vice versa in the NZ Herald. The individual papers have no say in what fields are run on the pages at the end of the day though. I can tell you that in the liftout of both the ODT and Dom Post this morning they aren't in there either. I can't be certain of any of the other papers which use the TAB provided pages, but my guess is that they would be the same too. However, your comments have been noted and I will be raising the issue in the coming days. I will do my best to get the Randwick fields in the paper tomorrow, but I can't make any promises because there is a lot to be covered off both from today and looking ahead to the rest of the weekend. What I would suggest is that you get your form off the TAB website for tomorrow's meeting. It will be full and expanded, whereas what you would have been likely to get if they ran today, or if it does run tomorrow is abbreviated form with next to no information. Cheers, Matt
  2. No!!! Please don't ban it! Haha. Love taking a head-to-head multi when possible. Although the odds are usually always under $2 it doesn't take a lot to build up to a tidy return. I had a nice one at Ashburton last week. It ended on Rewa beating The Hand Of Faith. They finished last and second to last in a six horse field and I still got a nice wee collect. Initially they used to be available on every race at every race meeting and the options were opened up early in the day, but they took a hiding, so now it is on only selected meetings. One of the better bet types about IMO.
  3. Either way it's well played to you. I couldn't have had it in a month of Sundays after the Sydenham effort. But that's Kevin Myers for you. Well done on the collect.
  4. Riccarton - # 3 Black Berry Punch R3 Addington - #9 Leading The Way R7
  5. Turny. Kayla hasn't lost her irons and a close look at her legs rounding the final bend and then again after the winning post on the close up will confirm that. However, I can see how you could believe that she had as she rides with a very long stirrup. It gives the impression her legs are flapping about like a fish out of water, but her feet never leave the stirrups. Counter Punch ran sixth in a Koral Steeplechase, 20.3 lengths from the winner over 4250 metres. He then returned the next week and beat the same field in the Grand National Steeplechase (5600m) by two and half lengths. Did we get up in arms about that? Or is this just a little bit of Dummy hating? Maybe I'm pushing something that's not there. I agree though that the question had to be asked. After BOTH performances. Not just the improvement run on Wednesday. But he barely gets a mention on the opening day and then is a glaring omission yesterday from the stipes report. But then again, if the question had been asked I am picking we would have read something like. "Stable representative K Harrison could off no tangible reason for the turn around in form shown by Mahanadi, other than to suggest that the gelding may have enjoyed running over the longer distance on a slightly less taxing track than Saturday."
  6. Christian Banner, who was Mark Purdon's first winner this season, was trained by Purdon and Grant Payne to win a race at Addington on July 29 last season, then he won again on August 10 when trained solely by Purdon. So, Mark didn't start the season training in partnership. He officially went out on his own accord on the first day of the season.
  7. Not at all, happy to see names from anywhere! Cheers.
  8. Hey Folks, I’m looking at compiling a list at on names given to horses or greyhounds that have pushed the boundaries a little, and was hoping for some help. Basically, it’s the names which have slipped through the cracks and made it to the races and especially those which have caused the odd commentator a headache or two. Examples include, Sea Sells Sea Shells, Swisswristwatch, Ask Bandit, Anita Pea etc. Any/all examples offered up will be gratefully received. Cheers, Matt
