It scares me to think of how much money the industry has GIFTED to these TURF EXPERTS/CONSULTANTS ?? I'm pretty sure they would not accept any sort of accountability even though they are right up there accepting Industry money.

There will be odds put out tomorrow night on people who enter this Christmas competition and update at the end of each day. Just for abit of banter to add to the page over the silly season.

LOL, there is a bit of a process to becoming a EXPERT/CONSULTANT for NZ Racing.
1; Know what pocket to piss in first to get the job.
2;Have no qualifications for what you are being employed to do.
3; Know how to say yes to the people that have employed you even though you know they are wrong.
4;Be able to where a tie & jacket & a smile even when you f..k up.
5; Know how to blame the people that are under you when things go wrong.
    Should i go on LOL

"industry-agreed plan of remedial work", agreed protocols have been implemented,  What a load of BS spewed out by  unproductive Office tossers and more unproductive Consulting/Turf experts telling each other how great they are at there jobs , Woodville has got PRODUCTIVE consulting turf experts as well, they are called 300 mixed age ewes that have given the Woodville turf/Grass a root structure probably 8-10 inches,  OPPS!  20-25 cm if not more , where as a lot of irrigated track have a minimal root structure (very close to the surface) and a hard pan just below, giving them the very dangerous Mat on a varnished floor syndrome. IMO

Yes, he had wonky leg and agree they probably gelded to help him not carry the extra weight and slow his maturity down. Some stallions do throw traits just as mares do but a wonky leg like he had at birth my thoughts would be it was caused due to how the foal was lying during utero and not something that would be passed on, but I am no expert.
Agree with Pam smaller stables are probably not set up for colts. Also, what is nicer for the horse a gelding that can be with a mate in a paddock or a colt who has to be by himself and does not understand why he is being told to pull himself together and act like other horses when he gets excited due to still being a colt.

Found a bit of time to poke my nose in here - interesting topic with some very interesting points to read through.
'Slower maturing, helping to keep weight off' - I probably should have been gelded years ago and I'd be in much better condition now 😄

John, and that is exactly why we are in the mess that we are. The “experts” have got rid of  most of the provincial tracks  that have been prepared that way for a 100 years and served us so well. Incidentally NSW seems to be keeping all their country tracks, promote racing there, put up reasonable stakes and offer the country runners huge grand finals in Sydney when country comes to town.

I fully agree and there are some keyboard warriors who would not have the guts to say some of the things they do if they are forced to use their real name...many times I have asked those such people to put up or shut up and always they never front up.
Please stop the personal attacks Nstrip...Gary Vile has caused a lot of what is happening to him of his own accord from what I am told...there are always two sides to every story...you are very keen to portray one as are a few others.
Tony has a right to post his thoughts here without being personally attacked buy you...please remember that.

Good post, but this highlights the problem with nom de plumes.  I understand the pros of them.  It means that people that can not normally contribute can contribute etc.  But I am a firm believer in being able to stand behind what you say.  Chris Woods etc no need for one.

Originally I brushed nstrips comments, 3 above here, aside as rubbish and the thread would disappear but it has risen again and his comments are close by to this latest comment. I believe nstrip threatens the integrity of everybody who uses a non de plume on this site. Sure when Training I did get a positive swab like so many Trainers. A positive is an occupational hazard for horse trainers. To name a few recent Trainers to get positives Jamie Richards, Peter Moody Peter Williams, Graham Richardson the list goes on and on. I don't think society condemns trainers who over feed supplement's or have a horse who's metabolism may hold a medicine longer in it's system than the norm. Society would view activities like getting in a car drunk and driving putting the lives of other motorists at risk in a more serious light.
Daryl you have every right to come on to this site and defend your friend but to try to discredit somebody with comments that are either 100% false or 50% false(half truths) who does not hide behind a non de plume and uses their real name is pretty low. I made a factual posting because I don't hide behind a non de plume.. The fact that the majority of your comments were incorrect brings the integrity  of everybody who uses a non de plume and posts on this site under a shadow.
Back to this posting I will be interested in how lonely Bevan Sweeney will be at Trentham tomorrow.
