  1. Hardly surprising that Banks is now a convicted criminal. After all he has convict blood coursing through his veins. How Johnny boy can stand by him through all of the crap is eye-raising. Does criminal Banks have pictures of Johnny in a compromising position perhaps?
  2. Scurrah out and Doyle in for 2015. Excellent news. With a champion like Doyle leading the way it bodes well for the Warriors future. Scurrah was a dud and oversaw some dodgy decisions (letting Cleary go and signing the Bluey his worst). His lasting legacy will be introducing 200 different Warriors jerseys for mug punters to purchase.
  3. The Chiefs were rubbish but they're still more chance of playoff footy than the terrible Canes. Had their destiny in their hands and came up short as usual.
  4. It's similar to the offer that Warren Buffett gives to anyone who can pick the perfect March Madness bracket in US college basketball. The odds are equally impossible but he offers up US $1 billion!

    MMP

Cult leader Colin Craig is buying his way into Parliament (with the help of Key) and no-one bats an eyelid. When a obese German does the same, it's like the world has ended. Wake up muppets!
  6. Hard to believe they'd need to rort with the shit roster they currently have!
  7. The Maroons need a win to take the heat of the cap-rorting Broncos. We know the NRL gives preferential treatment to the Broncos by giving them Friday night slots for 90% of their games, so let's hope they don't sweep this rorting under the carpet. Points need to be stripped.
  8. Agree with the comment about Fusitua. Great young player and at this stage a much better prospect than the Fish.
  9. 2 points is 2 points. They performed far better last week losing against the Dogs. It all evens out in the end. First game at Mt Smart next week. Look out Knights - you're in for tough day at the office.
  10. I've always said the Cowboys will be the goods this year. Manly is the other team that look real title contenders to me. The 2014 Roosters and Souths aren't up to the 2013 editions standards so not for me. The Dogs do look good at present but I still see them faltering in the 2nd half of the season. Can't see a title winner coming from the rest. How about you Gruff? You like to tell us which teams you feel are not good, so who is good? Go on, have a stab.
  11. High quality game. Much better than the other dross we've been served up this week. Fell a bit short but they never gave in and were outstanding on defence. Warriors seem to have a lot more grit and determination under McFadden. The Dogs are a top team, much better than I thought they'd be this year. Still, they won't win the title.
  12. Never going to beat the Cowboys in Townsville. A team just starting to click under their new coach Paul Green. No Bowen no problems. Got rid of the old fella at the right time.
  13. Winston at it again - drunk in Parliament. Slurring his words, confused, shaking. He needs a long stint in rehab.
  14. You're either a National supporter or you have a love of rotund women.
  15. Who cares what the rest of the world thinks? Well obviously you do, but it doesn't affect me when I decide which sports I find appealing. Just look at some of the entries in the top 10 most followed sports. Most of those sports bore me to tears, but I should watch them over rugby league because that's what the rest of the world does? You have a twisted logic there.
  16. The pig's really in the shit now . . Mfat briefing requested before Oravida dinner VERNON SMALL Justice Minister Judith Collins' office initially asked for a foreign affairs briefing before a controversial dinner in China with Oravida representatives and an unnamed border official. Collins has insisted the dinner was a private affair with no official business discussed. However, documents released to Fairfax Media under the Official Information Act show that five days before the dinner her office sought the briefing from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Mfat). An October 15 email from her office noted: "On Sunday, October 20, the minister will be having a dinner that will include (redacted name). He has agreed to meet with the minister arranged by Mr Stone Shi, Oravida. The minister would like ambassador Carl Worker and his wife to attend this dinner. A briefing from Mfat will be required." Worker did not attend and the dinner went ahead with Collins, her official, Oravida executives Shi and Julia Xu and the Chinese official present. But later emails show that Collins' office declined Mfat assistance and said no briefing would be required. The New Zealand embassy in Beijing asked about the dinner and said it assumed the booking would be made by Shi. It also asked if transport was required. Collins' office replied nothing was required from Mfat. "The minister is having a private dinner on the Sunday evening." Mfat's China unit policy officer, Nicholas Clutterbuck, advised that "while the dinner can be regarded as private, the minister cannot make unplanned/uncommunicated travel movements around Beijing during her stay". Asked today why there was an initial request for a briefing before the dinner, and then it changed, Collins said:"My office naturally asks for briefings for everything but it was a private dinner so it wasn't needed." Labour MP Grant Robertson said today the documents showed the dinner was not private. "It was a dinner with an official and was clearly seen as having an official purpose," Robertson said. "The bottom line is she still met with this person who clearly could have had an influence over Oravida exports." He said that in the wake of Maurice Williamson's ministerial resignation yesterday "Prime Minister John Key must act in the same way with Collins". The documents also show Collins specifically asked for the two Oravida representatives to be invited to a lunch event. Mfat officials had offered the lunch or a dinner as either/or options for meetings with Oravida but the Oravida representatives attended both. Collins also went to Oravida's offices for what the documents referred to as a "tour". Ad Feedback Collins has downplayed the visit and said she called in on the way to the airport. When she first sought approval from Key in August she said the trip would allow her to call on "senior counterparts in the [Chinese] Ministry of Justice" and that a programme was being arranged. No mention was made of Oravida or any trade-related meetings at that stage. The cost was estimated at $36,000. She later asked for permission for her husband, David Wong-Tung, who is a director of Oravida, to also go on the trip. That was granted, but her office later advised he would not be going. The emails show her office asked for briefings including for the "Oravida Call" and as well as biographical notes on everyone," including for the visit to Oravida (i.e. Stone Shi and Julia Xu)". But officials said they would not send "bios" of Shi and Xu "as these people were on the minister's guest list, so assume she knows them well already". Her office had also asked why the dinner was not on the visit programme. Key in March rebuked Collins for not coming clean about the dinner earlier. The cumulative effect of her dealings with Oravida had created a perception of a conflict of interest, he said. - © Fairfax NZ News
  17. Babies left at roadside just internet hoax, say police By Adriana Weber 7:30 AM Friday May 2, 2014 Add a comment Save Like on Facebook10 Tweet on Twitter0 Post on LinkedIn0 +1 on Google+0 Email Print Police were alerted to the rumours by a number of concerned members of the public on Wednesday night. Photo / File Police are quashing rumours circulating on social media that thieves have been leaving babies beside Rotorua roads to trick people into getting out of their cars. Bay of Plenty police yesterday issued a statement saying they had a number of messages about a warning circulating on Facebook, which claimed gangs and thieves were using a variety of dramatic methods to get people to stop their vehicle and get out. But the warning was a hoax. Police said there had been no such incidents. Police district communications manager Kim Perks said it was not clear who started the hoax. "A variety of different 'urban myths' are circulated from time to time. This particular one has been circulating on and off over a number of years and across a number of different countries. The content remains the same but the location is altered," she said. Mrs Perks said police were alerted to the rumours by a number of concerned members of the public on Wednesday night. "We are pleased that a number of people checked with us on this occasion, making us aware that it was circulating and enabling us to notify the public that it lacks any credibility." She said if police had a warning to issue to the public they would do so proactively through official channels such as the police website, police social media and traditional media. If someone sees a police warning somewhere other than these formal channels, she advised them to check its authenticity before sharing it. Mrs Perks said police were concerned the hoax would affect people's perceptions of safety around Rotorua. But locals had nothing to fear as the rumours were just that - rumours, she said. Earlier this month, a similar hoax caught people's attention in Rotorua. Rumours of a lion escaping from Rotorua's Paradise Valley Springs Wildlife Park swirled on social media, leading to calls to the tourist attraction by the Rotorua District Council and concerned citizens. Again, the rumours were untrue. - ROTORUA DAILY POST
  18. That one is a hoax! That story has been around for a few years. The authors just change the country/city and post on Facebook to scare the public.
  19. Lucky the NBA sacked the old redneck when they did. This was the new Clippers jersey he'd designed.
  20. I think you've missed the point Gruff. It's not the use of the word 'black", it's that he ordered his girlfriend not to associate with blacks, not to bring them to Clippers games, not to be photographed with them. This is the inherit racism exhibited by this old fool. Of course these statements are nothing compared to the other racist acts he has been found guilty of in previous years. But his extreme wealth couldn't save him this time.
  21. You obviously haven't seen this guy's rap-sheet gruff. He's a horrible old racist. Do some research. Anyway great to see the NBA take proper action on him. Fined 2.9 million dollars and banned for life from owning a team in the NBA One racist old fucker put out to pasture, many more to go!
  22. The owner is one dumb carnt. Owner of a team in a sport where around 90% of the players are black, yet he hates blacks. This dropkick should be involved in white-dominated sports like curling or equestrian where he wont have to associate with different ethnicities.
  23. Why should they have smashed the Warriors? The Storm had lost 3 of their last 4 and only win v the Dragons on a referee error. The big 3 are ageing and the rest of the team is filler bar Jesse Bromich who is the best prop in the game. The Warriors also have the 2nd best record against the Storm of any team in the NRL. The signs were all there - seems you either don't watch much NRL or you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed. Broncos? Just another game they couldn't close out against a below-par Bunnies team who are nowhere near the 2013 version. It's interesting that you actually think this Broncos side is any chop. I mean they're only 2 points ahead of the Warriors ffs!
