  1. So Mr Purcell has the utmost faith in the track manager but he struggled with his name and called him by another name. (Weigh In 09/03/2015) Now the question is; how does he support his claim that the track manager does a great job if he doesn't know his name? I would have thought that for him to have that level of confidence in him that he or some of his 'high ranking suites' would have by now had an in depth inquiry and that the track manager would have been central to those discussions. So on the one hand he's trying to persuade his audience that he has complete faith in the track manager, but on the other hand he doesn't know his name. It is clear to me that he believes that he might next try to convince us that there are fairies at the bottom of the garden, that the inmates should be able to guard the asylum and that my arse is a fire truck.
  2. Yep - an owner; nope unless you call Southland local and nope no beef with the club just sad that the club has been captured by a culture of carelessness.
  3. As a victim of today's debacle,I shall never ever race a horse again. Sadly that noble specimen 'the horse' is just a means to an end of corporate puffery, laced with some very marginal administrative practice. Sadly I can't say what I want to say but I invite readers to read between the lines .What a shabby betrayal of those hardworking pioneers of racing who developed the Wingatui track to be the best in the Sth Island. To those who have destroyed it, forces with retribution in mind are circling your wagon..
  4. I too am uneducated - left school 61 years ago at age 14, but have never used that as an excuse not to observe and learn. As for the question of 'What have the Romans ever done for us?" Well they gave us our language for starters. Around 60% of the English language has a Latin/Roman derivative. Problem it would seem is that society does not value the pursuit of excellence. It's much easier to 'dumb our expressions down' to a level of mediocrity that the slothful can understand. Fortunately those like Patrick Hogan never bought into that bull shit. If anyone had the right to drop the ball and accept mediocrity,he did. Sadly, the 'tall poppy' syndrome is alive and well.
  5. Yes; McIntyre is a former trotting stipe who coincidently was born and raised in Mosgiel (not Wingatui) Ohokaman is wrong and Fostermd is right. They are two different locations (and their Post Codes are different) Would Ohokaman argue that someone living in Templeton was actually living in Asburton - or vice versa? I think not.
  6. Yeah - you are absolutely correct. Absolutely my mistake. As the Romans would say by way of contrition, "mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxamaculpa". (through my fault through my fault, through my most grievous fault.) I'm now off to eat some humble pie with a considerable amount of egg on my face!
  7. Would be to bad if you were to expose yourself to those who are literate. Nah don't come near my rock; your malady could be contagious.
  8. Don't display your ignorance like that. The expression is 'short shrift' - not short shift! The word comes from the Latin word 'shrive'; meaning 'to forgive'. Like when the Catholics go to Confession they are 'shriven' of their sins. Your understanding of the expression would suggest that they are 'shifted of their sins' .What rock have you been living under?
  9. When we want facts, we ask an expert. How about one of the trainers offering his/her views. Views from folk like Michael Pitman of Terri Rae would be helpful, as it is they (and owners). who cop the costs
  10. Yeah; I'm told that the ringmaster is a refugee from the freezing works, so yes converting a freezing worker to the vagaries of turf culture and issues of precipitation would constitute a circus. As the Romans would say "o me miserum" (oh woe is me)
  11. So what's your point? What is the relevance of the'colour' of my language in relation to the issue that is central to this discussion? You contribute nothing of value. You're just running off at the mouth with a load of 'gibberish' in a desperate attempt to get yourself noticed
  12. Well it is rocket science to me. You see my interest in racing is driven by a love of that majestic animal - the thoroughbred horse. And I get it, that the indusry's activity will be supported by a website with which I am familiar (www.nzracing) Today; fewer than 12 hours out from Race 1 at Wingatui tomorrow, there was absolutely no information on that website about the fields at Wingatui tomorrow and that is what is central to my bitch. What I also get, is that that majestic animal (the horse) has been prostituted for the purpose of gambling. I am only now aware that those whose kink is to 'get off' on the prostitution of the horse are supported by a TAB website that caters for such prostitution. That's fine if that's your kink, but don't patronise me and others for not having an intimate knowledge of your TAB and your 'cellar-dwelling' lives. I rest my case that www.nzracing is the website that thoroughbred racing owners & trainers are entitled to rely on. Today it failed in its purpose and its an absolute cop-out to presume that an alternative webite that caters for the despots of the industry is a reasonable option for owners and trainers to resort to.
  13. Try moving just 2 degrees ( moving/motion/shithouse - seems to some kind of co-relationship here)
  14. Was that a spelling mistake Sheiff? Or are you saying reception would be better in the shi$t house?
  15. So did'nt fidelis say that he's do just that - once he was aware that there was another option? So why are you being such a smug cretin?
