Great comp and those blanket finishes at Eagle Farm made for some nail biting times. Race 6 there was a bath for those that were hanging on by their finger nails. Prince of Boom let the team down. Great to see Black Kirrama (Rev) get the win. So well-deserved. Thanks to Scooby and Say No More and glad to see that the scorer got to put his feet up a little earlier than anticipated. Well-deserved too.5 points -

Final Result Tycoonist went close for Pegasus but not close enough and our final two are eliminated. Black Kirrama is our winner courtesy of the higher aggregate going into that race - congratulations!! Early finish for the scorer4 points -
Had a big day so had to punt early using the 'Heavy 8' .... would of been a Dead 6 at worst, are they not suppose to bang that thing in numerous points around the course? Preferably where the Horses run2 points

This is very bold and a leading idea from the TAB, will win many customers back from Aus bookies. It’s a sign they may be taking there customers seriously and are listening to feedback. Hi Barry, Today we are introducing Punters Promise. This is our promise to you that every punter will get a fair crack to take us on and win big with TAB. We are now guaranteeing to sell all of our customers a bet to win at least $2,000 on all three domestic racing codes. We know there is nothing worse than finding a horse or dog you like at good odds, but then getting your bet limited when you try to get on. We also know that we need to ensure we are maximising the returns to New Zealand’s racing and sports communities, so it is a balancing act for us, but we are committed to operating a level playing field for all of our customers. Here’s what you need to know about Punters Promise: It’s available on all New Zealand racing and on all three codes It’s available as soon as a market opens, right through to the jump It’s available on the fixed odds win market as soon as the odds are available, and It guarantees customers a $2,000 win threshold across every race, calculated as a bet to win amount For example: a horse/dog at odds of $5, we will guarantee to sell each customer a $500 bet, to win $2000 ($500 x $5 = $2,500 potential return, less $500 stake = $2000 potential win amount) How does this compare to Australian betting operators and the Minimum Bet Limits (MBLs)? It’s much better! Australian betting operators are forced to comply with the terms and conditions of each state’s racing administrative body, so they’re not offering the MBLs by choice. This means that there are varying thresholds in place and different conditions which makes it very confusing, but we’ve simplified it: While $500 is the lowest threshold (provincial harness and greyhounds), we’ve decided to adopt the highest threshold ($2,000) in Australia (which exists for metropolitan thoroughbred racing) for Punters Promise, across all three codes. In Australia, most of these MBLs only apply on the day of the race meeting. We’re committed to letting our customers have a fair crack from the time that we release our odds, so Punters Promise will apply as soon as the market is available to bet on.1 point

Training fees will rise
Black Kirrama reacted to tripple alliance for a topic
Look what's happening around the world , grain is going through the roof , a few international examples which must flow onto us . Oats up 86.9% ,Corn/Maize up 25% presumably Barley the same and other grains not horse related are strong , rice 30% , wheat 76% also various oils soy etc average around 30% and then the trainers cup of coffee up 42% add to that crude oil up 66% and here's an interesting one on a frosty morning in the south Coal up 288% , no matter how you look at it, its unavoidable , training fees will be going up .1 point -

You are right my old mate. Bolt For Brilliance was cruising the whole race, he could have gone another lap, and he was never going to be beaten. When top horses are rolling like that in front they never get beaten. Sundee's Son has done the same many times and will again. Speaking of top trotters. What about the run of Herliiys Double Delight, the pacing bred trotter! What a run, that was just about the best run of the night I give you the tip mate. She could be a superstar!1 point -
Shad, dunno that Sunny got the best start as opposed to Bolt and Tempey, but hey he's done it before come round challenged for front and they've given up the lead, just this time lead wasn't there, perhaps when JD went he was hopin to flush cover? and got posted, he forced the issue comin towards home bend Bolt was still truckin and went out by length, secretly I think JohnD knew Bolt was goin to bloody well and with the Iceman in that frame of mind, over rover and if you watch replay you'll see Bolt flickin his ears just before the finish, there was more in the tank....but as much as I loved seein Bolt doin the job I was absolutely over the moon an back to see mighty Temporale runnin into 2nd that made my night..... Worth noting that Black Kirrama didn't play either of their free passes, whereas Pegasus had used both. The results from this comp and the one we ran six or seven weeks ago, would suggest you're best advised to use your free passes.1 point -

Gruff reacted to Uriah Heap for a topic
I've looked at your form history Atheist. 183 starts for no wins and three placings (at Wairoa, Reefton and Blenheim). At one stage you went out for a five year spell, while your trainer tried to work out why you continually tailed off by 10 lengths. You just need to suck it up and work your way up through the rankings. However, won't be easy now they've shut down Waipuk, Stratford and Marton.1 point
