Its okay RICHARD you can have as many goes at me as you like I have been the leading trainer for many years and my son Matthew and I continue to be, fact - not so called!! With close to 2000 winners out of our stable I am very proud of our achievements as a family based business, which includes our rock, my wife Diane. The $10,000 SI trainers bonus was announced many months ago, you may not have known that, I certainly did!! In fact I was told (even) well before it was announced. I did not throw any toys out of the cot I made a judgement call that it was not in our stables interest to support this years WRC CUP carnival, especially after the pathetic compensation NZTR gave to those owners so badly treated when the Wellington Meeting was abandoned. That is the connections of both Okay Pal and Miss Tycoon Rose who have some nice races in South Island to target and we may venture North at a later date this season. I explained to my equal partner in Okay Pal that if we went a blinder and ran second to either of the two top class mares that were favoured to win it, our future would be limited CASE IN POINT, Roch "N" Horse has gone from a rating of 86 to now being a rating of 96, a massive 10 point increase in rating points. THE FOURTH HORSE -CAN I GET AN AMEN- GOT 4 POINTS AND WENT FROM 77 TO 81!!!!!! Now Richard, you may not understand rating and handicapping, I'm sure with your limited intellect you don't, but I DO!!! One L J Molloy will vouch for me!!!! So what rating would Okay Pal have got if he managed to run second off a rating of 79 would he have gone up 17 points, probably AND unless you ran in the first two it wasn't worth the exercise, my wife Diane won the rating 65 at Waikouaiti and received only $2,375 less than the 3rd place getter in the Gp 1, The open handicap winners at Waikouaiti received $500 more than the 3rd place getter in the Telegraph, Seikrid is now a rating 67 horse, she also got 4 points but close to $9000 more than Can I Get An Amen received for its fourth placing. I have no beef at all with WRC, I spoke with Des Coppins about this, I and our owners looked at the overall picture and decided it is in our horses and our owners interest to stay home and support the good racing coming up in the South Island. Considering the trainers prize would have been selfish on our part, so it was never considered. I can assure you RICHARD, that our results at Waikouaiti, a club that has been a big part of our South Island's leading trainer position for many years, were very rewarding, considerably more than the $10,000 trainers prize on offer spread over the three days which now is over two weeks PS Richard Cranium suits you ferry why don't you tell us who you are instead of taking potshots at the South Islands so called leading trainer.8 points -
Seems to be a cosy arrangement between elite Recruitment Agencies and so called business high flyers. History tells us that portability of business skills to racing and gaming has been a failure in NZ. Maybe Mike Tod will prove me wrong but the odds of doing so would be pretty juicy.5 points

Whip Rules

I finally caught up with the replay from Ellerslie on the 9th Jan and watched Race 5 where La Crique beats The Perfect Pink and see that Opie gets 6 days. Personally, I think its rather concerning that from my view he hits the horse 4 times and not in consecutive strides. C Grylls uses the whip 5 times in consecutive strides and nothing said at all. I guess this is all over the minority group of animal lovers that seem to get a louder voice than anyone and are changing the way racing is conducted. Next target will be the Zoo once they finish with the racing industry and ruin it. The parasites of the woke world continues and everyone bows to their demands well time to give them the i finger salute and fight back. Would of Levante won if not given the whip 7 times seeing the margin was so close. And how is a jockey who is emotionally driven in a tight finish meant to all of a sudden stop and think bloody hell I better stop hitting the horse and lose the race. I know as a punter I'm going to start losing interest in betting in large amounts if my selection loses from not been ridden out. Personally losing the few good jockeys we have left to suspension all the time isn't good for the game, give them a fine and be done with it and stop running like babies because some animal nutters want to stop racing.4 points -

If there are better Trainers than Team Pitman at placing there horses, i have yet to see them. I have always thought Michael in particular, thinks outside the square when it comes to getting the best returns for his owners. Just trying to think of the horses name that won over a dozen races that in my opinion was the best placed horse i have seen. it was no champion, but had had enough ability to win races when well placed. Just my opinion.2 points

Interesting scenario if Levante was beaten by say Eptimum , Ocean Point or Live Drama under the same circumstances, would we be viewing this case a lot more vehemently ? This is going to blow up badly one day. What if one of Roch'N'Horses connections at home rings through and says Elliot broke the whip rules so put in a protest. If they are going to live by this rule why didn't the stipes blow the siren or is it something that's looked at well after the race ? Maybe all clear shouldn't be given until all the placegetters whip count is in ? Just seems it's such a half arsed rule. The big tough stipes suspending and fining jockeys well after the race because they can , yet so far off the ball when it comes to real time. If Ken got beat and someone told him to protest over whip strikes, the stipes and RIB would shit their pants. From now on ,if you get beaten in a relatively tight finish , I'd ask to view the film and stipes can count the whip strikes . This is going to end badly one day. And it won't be in a R65 for the lucrative sum of $12k2 points -

This whole perception in this scenario is the word "WHIP". When you bring up the word whip, people think pain and suffering, which in my view is wrong with the whips of today. If you go back some years ago when the whips were made, they are completely different from the ones used today. The whips are padded and soft, where as years ago they had leather flaps which could be soaked in water to make them hard and when you riders like W Skelton J Dowling and R Vance, they along with others could leave stripes on a horses rump. I have no doubt that this can't happen now, we have come a long way in horse welfare and another positive is the banning of spurs, these items could inflict more pain than whips, they had very small heads on them , not much different to a large nail and did leave small puncture holes in the horse. I think that NZTR tried to appease the masses, but clearly got there policy and or policing wrong and Opie Bosson"s case is a perfect example of that1 point -
Covers it nicely Chev, question still remains why are they using this potion on the World ? We will find out how many braindead are out there when it comes to using experimental therapies on their Children who dont need them... the money pool adverising this campaign seems bottomless ...... omicron my ass1 point

The Telegraph times at Trentham have always been very quick and questionable. Victory Dias ran 1.06.59 way back in 1993, and Loader, Bawalaksana, Seachange, Guiseppina, Enzo’s Lad and Avantage were all timed under 1.07. As a matter of interest, the Flemington record set in 2001 by Iglesia is 1.07.16. Someone needs to get the measuring stick out…..1 point

I must admit to having a certain amount of scepticism about the time posted for the Telegraph, considering other times on the day, and another horse a nose away. I have hand timed it off the screen and it seems correct, so the issue could be the distance, if there is an issue.1 point -
FORM ANALYST/JOCKEY AGENT
Gruff reacted to ivanthegreat for a topic
Yes this ole chesnut again........... FRIDAY'S OTAKI MEETING LISA ALLPRESS RODE 4 WINNERS AND A 2ND ON FRIDAY AND RODLEY DIDNT HAVE ANY OF THEM AS HIS FIRST PICK !! SO HE'S A BRILLIANT AGENT BUT NOT A GOOD JUDGE....... YEAH RIGHT. THERE WAS ALSO A GOOD STEER AWAY FROM THE HOT FAVORITE IN RACE 6 TRAINED BY J. RICHARDS WHICH HE COULD OF WON ON . NOT ONE OF HIS FOUR SELECTIONS. GIVEN HE IS ALSO AGENT FOR OPIE BOSSON WHO INCIDENTLY RIDES MOST OF THE HOT ONES AT TE AKAU HE WOULD BE VERY AWARE OF THE TANGERINE MACHINE. THIS BUSINESS OF PICKING 4 HORSES IN EVERY RACE IS A BLOODY JOKE ANYWAY WITH THE FIELD SIZES WE HAVE THESE DAYS. AS FOR FORM ANALYSTS.......... MOST WOULD STRUGGLE TO EAT BETTER THAN RICE SANDWICHES IF THE ONE PICK PER RACE WAS IMPLEMENTED. PERSONALLY I DONT TAKE ANY NOTICE OF THEM WHEN IT COMES TO WHERE MY MONEY GOES BUT THOUSANDS DO AND THEY HAVE A BIG INFLUENCE OVER BETTING. FORM ANALYSTS....... I WOULD CALL THEM ANECDOTAL EXPERTS.1 point -
I was told today that it was hand timed. What is going on in Wellington, both with the club and with the NZTR. It's fine to spend $14m pa but something as important as timing in 2022 isn't? Where is the leadership? Come on you guys....we gave you a paper on the racetracks and timing systems 5 years ago. We did all the hard work and still nothing done. I seriously hope the next CEO can pour a beer properly.1 point

Another "catastrophe" and the hiding/protected Ardern re-emerges to lead the distressed out of their suffering. More grandstanding and the out of touch wench pledges $500K in recovery funds to the Tongans--seems somewhat obscene when the Mongrel Mob scored a tidy $3 million. Expect to see her paddling into Nuku'alofa harbour in a waka shortly.1 point

R Elliot (LEVANTE) - Admitted a charge in that he struck his mount LEVANTE 7 times prior to the 100 metre mark. After considering submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a suspension of his licence to ride in races from the conclusion of racing on Saturday, 22 January until the conclusion of racing on Monday, 7 February, 8 national riding days, and in addition imposed a fine of $4,000 Win should be taken away for that. That's why the rule is an ass, joke, call it what you want. The fact is; he broke the rule, gained an unfair advantage and beat them......wrong, wrong, wrong. This is just one of the reasons the game is now stuffed and that's because it's run by idiots all on the take! LIZ1 point

Stipes report on one horse says "LITTLE WING (M Singh) - Finished a distant last. When questioned M Singh was of the opinion the mare had not handled the firm nature of the track. A subsequent veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormality. Trainer F Auret advised LITTLE WING would now be spelled." Maybe 24 races in 9 days on the track was too much with no rail movement?1 point -
