    Why bother Whale

It's unbelievable really, other trackside presenters waffle on you must follow the Whales tips ... hello ..only if you want to go broke. Yes this is a mugs game, that's why we have to work. But please don't advertise falsely, last few weeks been watching his best bets, value, each way again and quite frankly they are atrocious. I can't for the life of me fathom why he is painted as an expert analyst, he must win sometimes but I have yet to see him string anything together for months and months now.

How is this right.... what type of country are we now...I bet he paid some of the money he no doubt stole when running for the hills to get his visa here....This is not right..... Former Afghan vice president 'given safe haven' in New Zealand Jon Stephenson14:29, Jan 06 2022 STUFF Sarwar Danish, the former second vice president of Afghanistan, has been granted resettlement in New Zealand, raising questions about the reasons behind the decision. A former vice president of Afghanistan and 13 family members have arrived in New Zealand after the Government granted them resettlement – and some local Afghans are not happy about it. Stuff understands that Sarwar Danish – the second vice president in the administration of Afghanistan’s former president, Ashraf Ghani – flew into Auckland around Christmas with his wife, two sons and three daughters. Sources say two of Danish’s daughters and one of his sons brought their spouses, and four children between them. Associate immigration minister Phil Twyford confirmed that “Sarwar Danish and his family have been given safe haven in New Zealand”. ADVERTISEMENT Advertise with Stuff Speaking to Stuff this week from an MIQ hotel, one of his family confirmed that Danish and his family members had arrived in New Zealand from Turkey. Stuff contacted Danish at another MIQ hotel, however he speaks limited English and was not able to answer questions. The arrival of Danish and his family comes after Immigration Minister Kris Faafoi ruled out reopening resettlement applications for Afghans who worked with New Zealand during the war in Afghanistan – some of whom are at risk of reprisals from the Taliban. The Government announced the resettlement process after the Taliban seized power, but applications were closed on August 25. Pause Unmute Current Time 0:11 / Duration 2:41 Loaded: 86.51% Fullscreen STUFF Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the Government was considering offering help to a broader group of Afghans to reside "elsewhere", the first confirmation it might take more refugees from Afghanistan. (First published September 21, 2021) The decision to accept the former vice-president and 13 family members has provoked confusion and anger among local Afghans that Stuff has spoken to, including a number who served with the New Zealand Defence Force. An Afghan member of the New Zealand SAS unit based in Kabul from 2009-2012 said Afghans who worked with the NZDF should have been prioritised for resettlement – not people like Danish, who he said shared responsibility for the collapse of Afghanistan’s government. “It’s very frustrating that someone from the corrupt leadership of Afghanistan – with zero connection to New Zealand – has been resettled in this country, when people who directly supported the New Zealand SAS have been left behind,” he said. “He was already safe in Turkey, so it would be hard to understand if Kiwi taxpayers are paying for Danish and his family to start a new life in New Zealand.” Other Afghans with links to the New Zealand SAS told Stuff that Colonel Abdul Ghaffar Hotak, the former deputy commander of the Afghan government’s Crisis Response Unit, which the SAS trained and fought with from 2009-2012, had been recently killed by the Taliban. STUFF Colonel Abdul Ghaffar Hotak, who worked closely with New Zealand’s SAS in Afghanistan and has since been killed. One Afghan described Hotak as a highly professional and trustworthy officer who worked closely with SAS troopers and was “a very noble person.” ADVERTISEMENT Advertise with Stuff He said it was “shameful and disgraceful” that Danish and his family members had been resettled in New Zealand when men like Hotak had been abandoned. In his statement, Twyford said that Danish’s position on human rights was a factor in his admission to New Zealand. Twyford said the Government had provided safe haven to around 200 Afghans whose lives were at extreme risk from the Taliban. That included female judges, journalists, human rights workers, NGO leaders, women’s rights advocates, LGBTQI, “and some politicians who stood up for human rights like Sarwar Danish”. Tens of thousands of Afghans who fled Kabul as the Taliban took over are currently in countries without visas to stay there. Twyford said that some of the Afghans who New Zealand has supported had come from third-party countries where they had no visas allowing them to stay.

  5. Too true Gruff. If you trust the vaccine, why are the unvaccinated a threat? The Covid virus, like all viruses, is an opportunist and lacks any cerebral ability to seek out the unvaccinated ahead of the vaccinated. As that despicable little creep Fauci has declared on CNN, " the viral load in the nasopharynx of the vaccinated is potentially exactly the same as the viral load in the nasopharynx of the unvaccinated". As for "long Covid"--another vehicle for malingerers to game the benefit system and now even senile Biden calling "it" a long term disability that will trigger welfare compensation.

Haha....I'm glad someone noticed......one opens oneself up for derisive criticism posting picks on here ! But had a beaut day.....as an expert should.......got out of the hot weather , studied the form in between some relaxing reading and watching some Netflix and bet on every race Nelson and Cambridge ! Helped immeasurably by snaring a % of first 4 in very first race...always throw in MEdmunds at thin end of First4/trifectas. Taking first 4's usually a high risk strategy , but making sure one covers Orange, JDunn , TWilliams , RButt in bets takes one close ! Do the top drivers all still drive in the same car to the Nelson races ??...haha. I had a few near misses ,as you do, but if Watching Our Coin and Above and Beyond kept pacing in home strait my results would have been even better....did the track appear a little rough ? On to Cambridge , reverted to a mainly 'trifecta' strategy ...no $10k guarantee on First 4's up North.....and helped by fact a horse I have a small share in paid nearly $5 for second and snared a share of last tri which paid $1k ...been watching Prince Envy and trifilium........capped off a very good day , only during Cup week can one normally spend a day following every Harness race ! Won't be doing much Nelson Day 2 ...attended every meeting for 27 years .......usually easier on Day 2 , but I suspect mainly Flying miles will change that ! I'm impressed you noticed !

  7. Tauherenikau now Otaki today. Just watched race 1 at Otaki. What a great sight - lovely sunny day and crowd building. Why dont the clubs/national officials want to promote this spectacle. OK they say they could not make money from them - well they dont make money either from their night meetings either. At least these day meetings with their picnic settings get interest of the sport out to the future generations. Too many big owners/breeders controlling the sport these days I suspect.

History and FACTS????? What facts. You seem to know it all so lets see some of your FACTS. As for any investigation into RIB leaks to the Press well thats none of your business unless you want to give us your real name, address and serial number and then if you have ACTUALLY something to say we can arrange for you to be visited for a formal statement. But carry on with your posts. Its alway nice to get a laugh. Kinda like eating 30 gms of chocolate a day.

Didn't know it existed but ........... " If it looks too good to be true " The other thing would be why would he bother to share this information ? I mean what would the same horses pay if he didn't . He wasn't picking that many winners during the last 30 years.

  10. Read an article saying there's 200 kiwis suffering from long 'Covid',what about the thousands suffering Vaccine adverse reactions like the 23 Yr old Whangaparoa plumber with a young family, the Aucland woman who was regularly walking remuera parks who now struggles to walk out the door, those who Naturally catch infections will have an opportunity to heal ,particulay with the important detoxifying benefits of Flu but with Experimental DNA altered protein therapeutics who knows and this experiment is far from complete....people who believe the 'unvaccinated ' are a threat are beyond help, and can never be told anything that challenges this insane belief. 12. Yes realize all that just pointing out the fact that not much thought must have gone in to the draft as that's just another area not given any thought as a licensed public trainer on the paper states they must have (1) runner in the previous season.

  13. Maybe, eljay , the crowd was getting there early to secure some shade for the main event , the gallops. In past years , the early start has not helped turnover figures. Galloping tracks obviously not over happy about Harness using their tracks. You will have noted the aftermath of the Cup race......big nominations and fewer races available to satisfy all horses saw the Club change the conditions of the main race, change it from a handicap ,stand start to a mobile PLUS they changed the advertised distance. Plus some trainers not advised of this....the shit has hit the fan. Some taken to social media which will test the latest Harness 'rules' on behaviour ! Another blow for North Island harness !

They would fit into the public trainers group....they training horses for the public. This is a Consultation paper ,a draft , and they are seeking feedback and intend holding open Q & A sessions etc to answer all these questions. Industry groups obviously will be influential in getting the draft tweaked and changed. Concerns as a participant are surely best presented thru these channels. Airing stuff on social media IMO probably not the best approach. As pointed out , some of the lingo used seems 'nonsense' ,so changes to the draft seem highly likely . Few kiwis seem to be entering the Industry as jockeys these days ,and there are plenty of other areas where the Industry needs changes/improvements as well IMO.

  15. Add to that the definition of 'infection' which creates the hysteria. The Crooked WHO changed the terminology so the so called 'Sars Cov2' antigen positive was called Covid which is actually the 'Disease Sars is suppose to cause, asymptomatic people blew out the numbers.....WHAT is Viral load ? You can take your masks (crazy people are buying this crap) off to eat and drink indoors So what exactly happens then? The creepy crawlies climb back up your're throat I'm not with the Germ theory anymore it is so flawed it's beyond belief, and also covers up the REAL issues...Read the Work of DR Stefan Lanka who is a REAL Scientist unlike the drabble we have here,we are listening to people who have no idea...cant wait to see what happens to the Millions going to Labs to create a ' vaccine ' for Delta that is expected to be ready in October what is really happening here

  16. A quiet weekend coming here in the UK and Ireland - it's often a weekend disrupted by the weather but I don't think that will happen this year. 6 go in the Grade 1 Tolworth at Sandown for the novice hurdlers over 3200m. CONSTITUTION HILL is 2/5 favourite on the back of a really favourable impression at the last Sandown meeting winning a novice hurdle by 14 lengths. It's hard to know what to make of the form but as he hails from the powerful Henderson yard you'd think he was well above average. MR GLASS hails from the Nicholls yard and has won his hurdles starts albeit over further while DATSALLGINO won a lesser graded race at Cheltenham. The problem with the latter is all his form is on much better ground. JETOILE is another who has won over further which leaves the relatively inexperienced SHALLWEHAVEONEMORE whose sole hurdles run was a second in a fair race at Ascot. The truth is if he's a serious Cheltenham contender CONSTITUTION HILL needs to win this and do it well.

Paragraphs 2 and 3 hint of CLASSISM further entrenched by the following proposed rule changes which will impact on both Class B (permit to train)those wishing or forced to drop down under CPD to Owner Trainer Licence and existing Owner Trainers. EXISTING RULE {emphasis bold and underlined my highlights) 305 (1) A Class C trainer’s licence may be issued to a person who: (a) trains: (i) only horses solely owned or leased to him; and (ii) only horses in respect of which he has an Ownership interest of at least 10% with the balance being owned by one or more Near Relatives; and (iii) no more than two horses in respect of which he has an Ownership interest of at least 50%; and (b) is competent to train horses; and (c) owns or occupies an appropriate Trainer’s Premises; and (d) is financially sound and of good character. NEW PROPOSED DRAFT RULE OWNER TRAINER LICENCE 307 An Owner Trainer Licence may only be granted to a person who meets the criteria for the issue of an Owner Trainer Licence as set out in a Licensing Policy issued under Rule 303. 308 An Owner Trainer may: (1) train, control and care for horses which are owned by the Owner Trainer, or in which the Owner Trainer has an Ownership interest of at least 60% with the balance being owned by one or more Near Relative(s); (2) care for a horse at a Race Meeting which is trained by another Trainer with that Trainer’s consent, if a Stipendiary Steward has been notified not less than 1 hour before the start of the Race Meeting; (3) employ: (a) Stablehands; (b) Slow Work Riders; and (c) Fast Work Riders. CLASSISM its meaning Classism is the systematic oppression of subordinated class groups to advantage and strengthen the dominant class groups. ... Classism is held in place by a system of beliefs and cultural attitudes that ranks people according to economic status, family lineage, job status, level of education, and other divisions.

    Rick Hore-Lacy

I met Rick at trentham sales a long time ago he was buying a horse to win the 2yo million dollar race at trentham on behalf of a guy who had just discovered, the hills on farm was made of iron ore. Instant millionaire they bought a horse, and I took them to Wellington to party, we finished up at some posh hotel Rick had very expensive taste wine top shelf etc. The poor guy who was multi millionaire asked me is there any chance I could just get a normal NZ beer to try, i got him a pint of lion brown, is face lit up when he had a sip said the best drink he had had since arriving with Rick. But i didnt have the heart to tell him the breeding of the horse he bought would never win a 2yo race. We went to trentham races the following day, trentham made him a special guest and he dragged me along no expense spared. During the day I mentioned to him I think the press are saying you are bankrupt. His reply do I look bankrupt and we went on to part all night in Wellington what a character and hard case. R.I.P.

  22. It is incredible that a substantial, nationwide, long established, industry has been captured by an ideologically driven minority with no obvious industry knowledge that are able to push through extreme structural changes virtually without question and without any fear of consequences. Hard to think of anything comparable really.

  24. This looks like a collection of corporate speak, academic cliches & babble with that pidgin English on the front page being the early giveaway. Some one has written this simply to impress someone else higher up the ladder, to suggest that positive action is underway, to either secure funding going forward, or to fulfill some aspirational goal written on a Wellington whiteboard. The document gives the required nod to the maori community, but not included much yet on the LGBT outfit. Going to be interesting to see if they can mandate the trainers, median age is stated to be 57 yrs (really?), to bow to having at least 1 transsexual track rider. These should be compulsory where the trackwork requires riders to be able to go both ways? Like all else this govt touches at the moment, it is simply a foul wind passing through & will lead nowhere - don't panic.

    NZTR Consultation Paper

And why is it so wrong if some can do it a little cheaper than others...if they have had the experience to be a trainer and can do it cheaper why should they be forced out...I for one do look at the costs when looking for a trainer the returns are miserly so every cent saved is a money in my pocket. I dont buy expensive horses and the returns are not there to warrant it in my opinion so yes I agree we should be encouraging more to get involved not chasing them out. This has never been the NZ way why has it now turned down this track???
