  4. The bit that interests me is the false start rule. It appears the driver of a horse causing a false start will no longer have the choice of going to the outside. They start in their allotted place in the 2nd attempt and if it happens again they are scratched. Personally I would like to see any horse causing a false start sent straight to the outside of the 2nd line.

    What is going on?

Tell that to the connections of the other horses who were denied a fair go. C.G.A. expects that all trades-people are competent in their craft. Had I been an affected party, I would be talking to lawyers. Agree with the post by NextPlease, seeing how long it can take a horse to wind up.

Yes - query their jurisdiction. He is not employed by Racing Victoria so, as an independent contractor (sort of), could not be accused of bringing the sport into disrepute as he was not referring to R.V. On shaky ground in trying to limit his freedom of speech.

Why does RV have authority in this? I suspect the only way they can enforce it is the hold they have on Moods licence

  10. They are not new regs just parts have been amended. We will see from 1 Jan whether the pertinent amendments are "policed" - like you cannot leave stables with overcheck/shorteners not in racing position. This I hope will end the annoying gear issues 30 seconds out from start time and have drivers "all aboard"
