    Bad Flamingo

So the trainer says the horse needs a name ….like NOW...and then Mrs. Cubes said something like we need a name for the horse and then Cubes didn't know what to do and then Coco the chocolate Lab brings in the toy stuffed Flamingo and Dodecahedron ….the eldest....says "Share the Flamingo"" and Coco the Lab doesn't and so Prism the middle child of two says "Share the Flamingo " but Coco is as thick as anything so doesn't so Mrs. Cubes says Bad Flamingo and that's how the thoroughbred got his name

Coercion, Don't these people know the fundamental rights we are all enshrined under law? Looks like this is a copy book of word for word out of the PM's office without factoring into account "Rule of Law." Bring on the Judicial Reviews. Who is the person at NZTR who is in charge of their legal Department and why are they not asking further questions of the PM? Do they use copy and paste without thinking outside of the square? The Coronavirus Act is Inconsistent with The Human Rights Acts and people's rights. People are protected from unlawful discrimination in certain areas of life. These are: Government or public sector activities Employment Access to Education Access to public places, vehicles, and facilities Provision of Goods and Services Provision of land, Housing and accommodation Industrial and professional associations, qualifying bodies and vocational training bodies Partnerships The Act also has special provisions that apply to Discriminatory Laws. 4. Hip Hop said yesterday the reason they said 6 weeks was simply they were short of doses. Back then they said it was because 6 weeks gave better protection. Now they want less than 4 weeks - obviously simply because they want to crow percentages fully jabbed as soon as possible because they have run out of crowing material for their daily P.P.B

  8. Progressives have been learning fast how to impose their will on the masses. After watching many of the b/s hearings during the Trump years in the USA, it is now so easy to spot their tactics. Look to the court cases this week in Australia (streamed live & then removed from You Tube) testing the vaccine mandates. It was the worst kangaroo court you have ever seen with the "defence" lawyers reminding me of Mr Magoo. They (the defence team) were setups and put no real argument together, so now they can claim the govt has court support to mandate whatever they want on normal folk. It was a total sham. There is just no interest from the media in looking at the reality of the health outcomes of the healthy and the young with this virus. There is no interest in looking into treatments. It is all about "positive tests" and vaccines. The inmates (epidemiologists & politicians) are running the asylum.

Pickle, were you hiding under the desk at geography lessons? Hamilton City is in Waikato Region. So are Colville and Taumarunui. Waikato District is in Waikato Region. Waikato District and Hamilton City were placed in Level 3. Waipa District and Matamata-Piako districts were not placed in level 3. The Waipa District boundary is about 450 metres west of the Cambridge training track. JJ Flash; the manner in which the South Island has been treated over this whole Covid-19 shambles is deploring in the extreme. I measured it on my atlas; Winton is further from Auckland than Lithuania is from England. It is one terribly sick joke on my southern mates.

  21. I simply like a straight bat. I like facts. So today I hear that the NZ Health Commissioner says that the best time to have the second jab is after 4 weeks. Our leader also fronts and says the same thing. So what about this.....from the horse's mouth, endorsed by Pfizer, and officially reported in their literature, and by a panel of international scientists who have been at this far longer than our idiots... So these bullshitting politicians who we have given the mandate to help us all, spend our money wisely, are now compromising our health potential because they know the infection tsunami is on the way. We've spent our $60b trying to eliminate something that the World was showing us wasn't possible, and now they're asking us to have the second jab before the optimal time for antibodies T -cell structures to proliferate. And all because they didn't get the vaccines in time, didn't put the systems in place in time and haven't got the back up plan (ICU beds and people to run them) in numbers large enough to cope with the potential tsunami. These are the same morons who were in charge of the Racing Act. They've got to go

Many on council have Labour affiliation. All the city MPs + Banks Peninsula are Labour. Selwyn and Waimakariri are National. Not sure this decision is political merely a case of the organisers thinking that Level 2 is not going to change and they are going to be in a huge financial hole if they left the decision any longer. As it is this is a big loss to them financially and I guess they did not want to make it worse.. We can only wait and see what will happen to racing for the week.

    Covid-19

We shall rephrase your question @Fredd002. has anyone tested positive for Covid who will be in attendance, if not why are those who are Healthy being Disproportionately Disadvantaged and Discriminated against when the Public Health Act , which is the umbrella Act to the Coronavirus Act, is not being adhered to in the Spirit and Intent of the PH & other Laws created? The PHA was created to ensure only those who were unwell or had symptoms stayed at home, not that of those who are fit and healthy and able as has unfortunately happened and should not ever have happened. There needs to be an application made to seek a ruling from HRC stating a 'Declaration of Inconsistency' with the Coronavirus Act. Look up HRC Facts Sheets "Discriminatory Laws." We have put some earlier Case Laws relating to PH and Infectious, and,or Contagious Diseases in other topics. They are there to help learn from and provide avenues we can use as templates. Stand Tall, ask questions, use Legal avenues including acting with others of similar thoughts and go through the Courts and apply for a Judicial Review for Racing in General Terms, along with using pre-existing options and grey areas of laws as a reasonable excuse to strike back under urgency. There are many in the legal fraternity over the years and current who have had interests in Racing and it's times like this we need to band #Together for the Greater Good of Racing and wider needs of everyone's rights to Living Laws are not Black and White contrary to what some may think. Bt, in the UK there's now a like minded group of people who have formed #Together which is also inspirational

    Sad about Kaikoura

It's disgraceful this decision has been made without consulting the Kaikoura Community. It's understood this decision has been primarily made by one person based in Christchurch who has a role with the club who is terrified of their husband and family catching Covid19, despite having the vaccine, "because it's spread down from Auckland and is now in the Taranaki and will be in the South Island in a couple more weeks..." They have said they have followed Government Guidance so have canned the event. Perhaps they should go and get a different job because they are going to be held to account for their decision-making. May I suggest those who would normally attend or partake in any Horse Racing community events speak up how you feel about these decisions and hold these people to account for Failing to Consult with those at the coalface and live in these communities. Also ask for full disclosure of Email and other communications between these people as you have a right to know the background to these decisions and who is not following Rule Of Law, nor acting with the best interests of the wider Racing Communities interests. Contact the Media to as the more who speak up is the only way we will get our Racing back up and running because Mr Grant Robertson is doing ZILCH to assist our industry. Perhaps it's time some in Parliament lost their Warrants. And others were given the sack. Racecourses are wide open spaces where one can Space Out and have Picnics, indeed they are traditional Picnic Spots

  32. Spot on Gruff. To digress.A field I believe you are familiar with. I ventured on to the fairways for a quiet 9 holes yesterday (first time in nearly 4 months) and in the aftermatch, socially-distanced discussion before heading off to "picnic" with friends beyond the eyes of dobbers I was alerted to the fact that there was a guerrilla group at the Club moving to ban the unvaccinated from playing! The word was that a stuffy Auckland Club (with Royal patronage) had already moved towards such a rule. My membership under threat but I will not go quietly.

    Sad about Kaikoura

Kaikoura is a holiday destination event which can't be replicated at Addington, irrespective of Covid. As a North Islander, getting to Kaikora is on my "bucket list". In contrast, we used to have an annual pilgrimage down for Cup Week but now don't go as find Cup Day an ordeal for someone keen on the actual racing (battling through the party goers, having to watch the screen as can't see sections of the track, freezing, boiling or buffeted in the open stand all day). Slightly better when an owner - but not much. Much better to save our money and watch from home. We don't really have any harness holiday races up here anymore. So sad as means the general population in the north doesn't get to see harness racing as a fun, family-friendly entertainment (although Cambridge does try at some twilight meetings).

  36. It's called a weather forecast.. the track can change an hour before the race, but bets have to be in by 10am, so not much difference. Also - if fixed odds bets count, I predicted I'm Thunderstruck to firm into around $2.35, so I wanted the earlier price. Furthermore - I'm Thunderstuck has won on good, soft and heavy - so unless Caulfield suddenly becomes a synthetic surface, I think I'll be OK. Thanks for your concerns though.

How about all those in the South Island write to these Ministers and request answers why we are still under State of Emergency 'precautions'? Why are these precautions still necessary? Is it 'reasonable/ unreasonable" to be in the rabbit hole we all find ourselves still in? Who is receiving kickbacks? Where is the adherence to The Public Health Act and other laws which must be seen to be interpreted and used in a balanced and proportionate manner? Why have whole regions been locked in with their borders instead of individual Households as per the Spirit and Intent of The Public Health Act as it was enacted? Ask questions and put Grant Robertson in the hot seat alongside all Politicians because they have legal obligations including ensuring THEY comply with the LAW. ( Politicians internationally come under much greater scrutiny than ours do from a Criminal/ Bribery Corruption angle, plenty of examples exist in Australia where it's common for Local Mayors and Councillors to get jailed or prosecuted) Now, didn't Grant Robertson's father who was an accountant get jailed for fraud? Did he sign all the loans this Government have taken out? Ask for disclosure of them and see who is ultimately responsible for these decisions. Go door knock and ask questions of them on video and share so we can see and hear what their excuses are. We all have basic fundamental rights to freedoms. Be mindful Professor Shaun Hendy has had a 5 year Gates Foundation grant around August this year to continue his works for The South Pacific Influenza Project which is a continuation of his COVID19 works. Just because there's no cases, possibly due to the different level of Go Hard testing etc in the South Island compared to Auckland, it doesn't mean to say the Health Department won't subject South Islanders and other parts of the country to what Aucklander's have been If we fail to hold them to account now think of what we all may potentially be subjected to for at least another 3 and a half years. Is this what we all want, another prolonged period of this carry on with no end in sight? @tasman man, use those examples and templates of Case Law from years gone by that are tucked away in Papers Past and hold them to account Do remember there was 3 such references to articles/ Reports in the Andrew Borrowdale Judicial Review in relation to this unprecedented situation we all find ourselves in so they do have relevance. ... No idea who sourced those wee gems

  48. Hi Most of those horses requiring a 2000m (or 1800m) maiden, there will not be many, are probably ex Northerners any way Unfortunately Gore has no starting point between 1335 and 1800m As this is the first race meeting in Southland since when ever the programme meeting group, which does have Southland representation, would have decided 1335m was far enough Gore 24th September has 8 races programmed, I don't think any club has restrictions to only run 7 races. Only lack of horses produces 7 race programmes in SI, if 7 races have been programmed can you advise where and when, thanks.

    General Simm

I rode The General a few times and he was the easiest horse to ride. The owners were real characters, I will tell you a few story's about them. They told me that General had been up and down State Highway that many times, that he knew where the pub was at Waikoloa ,as 1km from the pub the General knew the pub was a short distance away and would start rocking in the float, they would take him off the float and tie him to a gate. This was all good but the boys got another horse called Hasty Simm and they continued with the same practise. Then on one visit, unbeknown to the boys the Publican had got a couple of pigs , both horse were half asleep , then they spotted the pigs and story goes the both horse pulled the gate off its hinges and they say it was liken to a mobile start at the Trots. The General's work was always done by being lead off Bernie's Landrover up down the hills on their farm. Another true story was that they went to Hokitika and the other brother lover playing the piano, he was asked to provide some entertainment, which he was happy to do, the issue was the piano was bordering on the edge of the stage and after the brother had consumed a dozen jugs, the oblivious happened and the piano went tits up of the stage. The brothers were top people who just loved racing, didn't matter if they won or ran last. my memory is fading, but can our resident historian tell me if the General won at Marlbrough? I am going to Paul Richards 60th Birthday tonight at HQ , so will ask him if he rode him
