I am sure Brian DeLore has added some GST to it....most journalists do. However there does appear to be a slip up of professonalism from Cameron George too, that if he had his time again would not have happened.

Really the guts of this, what is the benefit of having CG as the chair of NZTR. He lives in AUS, heads a second rate outfit and much of the board of NZTR link to that. His previous role as a stipe has left him with un-professional bias against Shaun C leading him to shoot his mouth off. Shaun (a former accountant) is a good man. IMO NZTA should advise "no confidence in CG" to the Minister of Racing and get the other sector groups to support that. Pretty sure they would.

As we have seen since the Covid drama began, the ongoing fight to be free of the Government Regulations and lockdown have brought forth Various people to make a stand. It is always refreshing to see when ministers or politicians come forward to take onboard the effects on the people of that country, and to recognise the costs to freedoms,. heres an acknowledgement of the plight of the people being voiced by a senator in Australia/Queensland... be interesting to see how long the clip will stay up...

My tuppence worth Firstly de Lore is a vituperative “gun for hire” journalist who has an agenda …and who apparently can’t deal with rejection When I read this article I panicked as I consider both Shaun & Camo as friends, both are good at their job, and they should be working together I took the liberty of ringing one of them to see if I could help reconcile any differences, but he laughed it off and said it was prearranged and the two had had and useful chats subsequently There’s no bad blood there….end of story Meantime NZTR looks as good as it’s ever looked, and the TA should be well served by a “no bullshit” chief like Shaun Clotworthy

Lots of us are yesterdays men but we might be wiser than todays men. I am not a disciple of de Lore. I put the piece up in its entirety to see what people thought of it. He does put his head above the parapet though. What part of de Lore article do you dispute. CG making a fool of himself? Surely not! How about you address the other charges? I support Saundry as I've found him an approachable bloke and he is cutting the poor cloth he is given as best he can. As I have said before racing here is run in a communistic way. The Minister, his appointees and the politburo of the DIA, flunkeys, and then some trickle down to the serfs. Its unlikely to prosper until the clubs form hubs re-capitalise those themselves so they can have independence and some competition. That will bring new challenges when it happens here.

I can assure you i am no apologist as you put it for NZTR but some of the stuff written about them is unjustified. By all means attack individuals if that's your go in life but my posts are based on trying to offer balance. Hence my above replies . If you think Brian is on the money by all means join his crusade for that's what it come across as . Me , i don't find his articles to be well researched and thus i challenge his assertions. Some have suggested to me he is a yesterday's man who lacks cred. Based on some of his articles i can see why. That's my summation but as the industry is in a crisis i suppose its not unreasonable to expect everyone to be up in arms when an ex journo writes opinion pieces which border on fiction in places. Didnt NZTAB allocate the codes a record distribution of 170 mio this season or is that not worthy of comment by him. As i said earlier , i look for balance from journos, perhaps im just old fashioned As an aside , it would be fascinating to see what he would come up with if he wrote a piece on the state of the Harness code. Some have the courage and conviction to debate and inform an alternative position. I’m interested in not becoming a sheep that does not look at this puzzle in a balanced way. There have been many instances in history where a fight of the most ginormous effort was needed to not become a sheep. So the debate must exist and there is no single answer but to not have the debate is to become a sheep…..and sheeps always get slaughtered….that is the definition of a sheep.
