    M Kerr Press Article

Take a breath and calm down. There is nothing I have said that would come close to claiming anything that would put me in court. All I have said is that Mitchell Kerr handed in his training licence (as reported in the article), along with 'what the heck is happening with harness racing?'. For all I know the powers that be are driving people out of the industry, or there is someone, or group, trying to discredit NZ harness racing and are succeeding via negative reports leading to discrediting the entire industry. I have made zero personal judgement about Mitchell Kerr, at all. I don't operate that way.

  2. What a clown you are. Did they throw all the trainers names in the hat and magically pull out M Kerr's name ?. How unlucky he must be. On behalf of everyone we applogise for this misguided information. I doubt not a single thing will come out about him and he has thrown his liscence in and gone surfing at Raglan. I hope you accept this apology

    Addington Sunday

Why are we wasting Sundays on Addington. Surely it is a day to take racing to the country. I'm afraid we are missing opportunities to promote our sport. The dates committee has gotten it horribly wrong here and we continue to head down the wrong track.

    RITA ANNUAL REPORT

Obviously Covid has had an impact on the end result but the one positive it did do was to ensure financial and structural changes were made. These types of changes made was why RITA was put in place halfway through last year. Nothing was done except bank loans increasing by $10 million prior to Covid when if they had got their act together it would have resulted in a slightly better financial end result. Interesting to note I didn't see it mentioned anywhere the financial impact of the 'bonus bets' fiasco which resulted in millions wrongly credited as income. $1.6 million of this was wrongly included in last years Financial Reports plus millions more this year. The $1.6 million should have got picked up by the Auditors last year but guess they didn't want to embarrass themselves by making mention of it. In March RITA advised an independent review would be undertaken as this bonus error would impact on the Financial return to the Industry. Where is the findings of this 8 month old review? Surely it should have got included in the Financial Report just released and another reason why the end result is down? You can't hang it all on Covid. Then again they will probably blame Covid for giving the Platforms software a virus. What do you think any Company would be doing if they paid $50,000,000 to another Company for a Betting Platform (which you don't own) and you are paying millions a year for it to be serviced and maintained and then you put out a press release placing the reason for the reversing in millions in accounts was due to an error in its system. You would be seeking full monetary compensation for the loss as the betting platform wasn't maintained and serviced as needed so these type of errors don't occur. If the loss isn't compensated in next years accounts then serious questions need to be asked eg if no compensation obviously it can't have being the Platform so how did it happen? There are I think a number of other matters of concern in the Financial Report so it will be interesting to see what develops down the track.

    Addington Sunday

We've lost all our grass track meetings up in the NI (though Cambridge can do "picnic meetings). I understand one of the reasons for centralisation was to reduce costs to owners. But no one surveyed this owner's opinion. We used to really enjoy having a horse racing in Taranaki and would make a long weekend of it, packing the golf clubs etc. And I've owned horses that grew another leg and were more competitive on the big grass tracks (those grass track wins make the best photos too - lots of colour!). Some of most memorable and interesting times as an owner have been at the grass track meetings. Now just the boring trip on the motorway to watch another 2200m week after week.

I didn’t notice any slowdown in Racing held in Australia during COVID. < The impact of very limited racing during the......> Where was the reduction in meetings or slowdown referred to in the Report?

    Addington Sunday

Sadly, I think it is all about dumbing racing down as much as possible and turning it into an off course pursuit. They really aren't interested in people attending race meetings, other than Cup Week. That's why they haven't bothered rebuilding any public grandstands in ChCh. Also the clubs who are most likely to do well with Sunday meetings and attract a large crowd are the very clubs they are trying to get rid off. I'm sure most of you have already noticed the numerous benefits of the centralisation approach.

  21. 15 confirmed for Sunday's Japan Cup over 2400m at Hanshin Racecourse in Tokyo. On paper, only three matter - the 5-y-o mare ALMOND EYE takes on two exceptional 3-y-o who look to be the new superstars of Japanese racing. The filly DARING TACT is unbeaten in five including the 1000 Guineas and Oaks and won another Group 1 last time. Normally, you'd think that would make her favourite but she's up against the Triple Crown winner CONTRAIL who is unbeaten in six including, as stated, the 2000 Guineas, Derby and last time the Leger. It doesn't get much better than that but he now faces his elders and it's the Arc of Japanese racing I suppose. Slightly slower (well, a lot slower) horses on offer at Fairyhouse on Sunday. Just seven stand in the Royal Bond for which BALLYADAM is ow 8/11 favourite over CASK WELL. ENVOI ALLEN is 1/7 to beat just three opponents in the Drinmore and HONEYSUCKLE is 4/6 to beat the boys in the Hatton's Grace.

No plans for a grandstand at this stage, there will be viewing areas. Murmurs of a Greenfield project still bubbling, interesting, I haven’t heard to much at this stage.

The trouble is hrnz for years have always let people off very lightly positive swabs and all sorts of other stuff get basically slapped with a wet bus ticket and pretty much left to carry on business as usual . We need our racing industry to be clean And to have a very tough stance on corruption and criminal activity , it should be that you get one chance and when you ruin that chance your gone from the game for good.

  24. Look, I'm no great fan of Ian Fosters and have no intention of going into bat for him. However, generally I feel across all sports, too much credit or blame, for wins and losses, is attributed to the Caoch/ Manager. There was a ton of All Black experience on that field on Saturday and many mistakes made, often at vital times in the game. Those mistakes can't be attributed to the Coach.

    Lack of cameras!

Don't worry about Blossom Lady. She's either a woman with periodic issues, a cross dresser or a male with certain functional issues. I had a look at the data in respect of her posts. Makes interesting analysis. As an exercise I compared Blossom Lady's data with my own posts (just as a comparison as I'm the most familiar with my strange foibiles) . So here are the results: Reactions Blossom Lady 45 15 (33%) 11 (11%) 31 (31%) 3 (6%) 8 (17%) Berri 1459 1222 (84%) 202 (13%) 19 (1.3%) 6 (0.4%) 10 (0.6%) Chris 693 996 (144%) 71 ( 10%) 17 (2.5%) 11 (0.8%) 2 ( 0.2%) So here is the data....for all to see. ....23% of Blossom Lady's post draw a negative reaction. Chris has 1.0%. Do I need to say anymore. Of real interest is that as a proportion Chris induces more positive responses per reaction to his posts than his posts. Says something about the consensus opinion of Chris than of Blossom Lady.

    Racing Minister

meomy I find your post disgraceful and offensive. I am not a Labour supporter or voter but you seem to be suffering from a terminal case of sour grapes. Bringing in Grant Robertson’s father into your argument is a low blow. I suggest you take a sheet of A4 paper and write down the achievements of the two last National Racing Ministers Nathan Guy and David Bennett. I suggest that after an hour the sheet would still be blank.

If you dont know how to delete a post then why post it in the first place. Do you have concrete evidence to support your post or just one of the other idiots that have nothing else to do but repeat what is already in the media without actually checking that what you say is true and therefore leaving yourself open to civil claims against you. If you cant back it up then perhaps you should desist posting and save yourself a lot of heartache and legal bills. The media can pay for their legal bills but an individual may not be able to cover the ultimate cost. Lawyers fees can be exorbitant in the end
