  2. Yes, it's easy to carp when there is a free comp, that comes with cash prizes! To be fair, I bet most cafers appreciate the effort that goes into these events. Thanks heaps!

You did your best rdytdy. The problem was you kept cutting and pasting articles from Muriel Newman and Mike Hosking. Yesterday's people with yesterday's views, who have been shown to be entirely out of touch with New Zealand.

  6. Kellys last update a few days ago "An update on Rosie.. Not conscious yet but making some progress. Doctors took her breathing tube out yesterday afternoon which is good. Her breathing became extremely difficult, was touch and go re having to put it back in. Was hard to watch and I wouldn’t have thought anyone could sustain that sort of effort.. super stoked to get a text from Will first thing to say she’d made it through night unassisted and was much more comfortable#Legend She’s got this, toughest little person I know"

AVD’s run in the CC confirmed his class. However, the Melb Cup is a different proposition, the big factor being the weight. Can he give Surprise Baby about 4kg? I think the Geelong Cup is going to reveal a lot. There’s some really good stayers in it trained by very astute Trainers. What’s more, they drop in weight for the MC. I think something out of the Geelong Cup is going to play a big part in MC calculations.

Think there would have been a statement by the representative of the jockeys association on the situation with Chris Johnson is now finding himself in .

  11. I don't believe they allow the golf to happen at Sandown during a race meeting but you're right - they do check for any stray golf balls down the far side. I've seen golfers at one or two venues during races in Ireland. I watched the Great Northern - like the reference to the Everest from the commentator - and delighted to see horses, jockeys and golfers all coming home unscathed. I find that Ellerslie track curious - the hill is steeper than anything you'll find on a UK track and I like how the double isn't jumped on the first circuit but it is on the second. it'd be nice to have a few more runners. One final thing... Starting stalls - for a 6400m steeplechase - seriously??

  12. You suggested it was Suspicious , ive been in your shoes previously with my posts and dont blame you for having that opinion been there done that and will probably be there again, just pointing out some judgemental errors...hope you do the same for me remember i called Mckeons ride in the Avondale Cup as the worst in Cups history ahead of Shane Dye

  16. If you want to see a real error of judgement take a look at this one ... https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/infohorsews/wsd06x?Arg=hrnzg-Ptype&Arg=RaceVideo&Arg=hrnzg-RacehdrID&Arg=280087&Arg=hrnzg-rSite&Arg=TRUE S Wigg clearly miscounts the laps and almost certainly cost herself the race. She's still trying to convince the stipes she didn't miscounts the laps, but her actions from the end of the back straight to the winning post with a lap to go tell a very different story. Nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes but when you do make them you have to own them. You can't bullshit your way out of clear video evidence.

  18. As expected, a totally gutless response from an armchair expert, aka a fool, who can't even tell the difference between a 2200m race and a 2400m race. And now you've resorted to anonymously quoting "certain southern racing fans" to try and cover for your lack of even a basic understanding of race tactics. Here's a chance for you to redeem yourself ... just point out the race where the horse has been driven differently. Full disclosure: I have a horse with Nathan along with a number of other top trainers. After 40 years of horse ownership, dozens of horses, and in excess of 100 winners, the only thing easier than spotting the best trainers, the best drivers, and the best horses in the game is spotting the "know nothings" on the sideline!

I see this dog was a Nonnie/Cheat on Sunday too, no mention in stipe report though. I suppose it might've done it discreetly enough to get away with it...but those of us that know what we're looking for....

Most Govts get to serve at least two terms, so no surprise that Labour won for another term. But the next election will be different provided that The Nats get their act together. After 6 years in office, Labour will have to have something to show. Another massacre (hopefully not), another Virus lockup, without any economic progress, will be the test. Third terms have to be earned.

Absolutely-then you would have another accurate measure of actual interest (or otherwise). Especially since I'm pretty sure no1 bothers to check if the new product is actually generating additional revenue or just further spreading the existing revenue over a wider range of 8product. I'd say there is a reason why they don't put it on a seperate channel: forced exposure is more likely to generate some interest. Mostly from gambling addicts rather than racing enthusiasts. Another short sighted view-I would just switch it off too. I keep wondering about whether a similar method is being employed with only offering free bets on fixed odds. Next minute they'll be saying "there's been a_%increase in fixed odds betting since the new betting platform was introduced"-no there hasn't, you actually just manipulated your customer base. This overseas racing reducing coverage of NZ racing on trackside is part of why I just prefer to go on course. You can actually see the lead in and get a proper look at the horses before betting. Without all the garbage I don't want to watch interrupting. What that means is I don't bet during level 2/3/4 and I don't generally bet off trackside coverage anymore either.

George Simon doing the dogs is the most stupid choice and waste I have recently seen with Nz racing. George Simon should be employed full time promoting Gallops and not managed by the TAB. He relates to all walks of life therefore excellent for visiting locations promoting ownership and racing involvement.
