If you have any queries what-so-ever about Covid, you should watch this. I'm basically a fact based person and I've had many a debate in respect of Cindy's approach to Covid, which will have a financial effect on all of us for many years to come. Much of the topic of debate centers around what the real impact of covid actually is. This link does the job for me...

I think you will find Boris is called Bojo by plenty , therefore treated worse as both names shortened . , Trump gets called a few names too , comes with the territory , people over thinking it . I doubt the PM gives a rats about it as we are in deep shit here so it's a minor issue compared with what's on her plate .

  6. Sobeit....I don’t care too much about PC politico writings that attempt to mould the way we should think or what we should say. I struggle with the rubbish we can’t say because I actually think we’ve socially gone too far. I don’t need anyone to tell me that you can’t refer to anyone in a shortened, easier version of a name. Just because our PM really dislikes her nickname doesn’t mean that we can’t call her that. Her response to that dislike is to get her favourite journalist to write about it and give it a sexist, depraved spin. And you believed it. Get real...I’m not sexist...I’ll continue to give anyone a nickname if it suits. The important thing is to understand the ramifications of our Covid response of keeping it out. Where the rest of the World is gradually becoming immune, we’re being isolated immune-wise. Look at the facts and work it out. You’re animal people so you should understand the issues

Berri Here is another , short but to the point factual article to look at. Reinforces the video you posted above. The data relates to the UK. https://off-guardian.org/2020/09/09/flu-is-killing-more-people-than-covid19-and-has-been-for-months/ " “Ah”, some of your may be saying, “this is just evidence that the lockdown, social distancing and masks have worked.” But that is obviously not the case. Clearly, if these measures did anything to halt viral transmission, the flu deaths would have gone down as well. They have not. They are right in line with the five-year average. Despite social distancing and wearing masks and hand sanitizer on every corner…the spread of the flu virus has not halted one bit in its usual annual progress through society."

  11. You lost me when you chose to call our PM 'Cindy'. This article sums up how I feel nicely. For the record my view has nothing to do with any political leaning I may or may not have. https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/opinion/122658284/shes-not-a-doll-so-dont-call-the-prime-minister-cindy OPINION: No-one dared abbreviate Margaret Thatcher’s Christian name to her face. Her staff called their formidable boss Mrs Thatcher, or sometimes Mrs T when she was not present. True friends, or those pretending an intimacy, called her Margaret. But it was Labour party rivals who demonised her as “Maggie Thatcher, Milk Snatcher”, when she ended the provision of free milk for school children in the 1970s. READ MORE: * Election 2020: Judith Collins says she can't control husband after series of anti-Jacinda Ardern Facebook posts * Why are some politicians known by their first name, others by their surname? * To sack, or not to sack: Three good reasons a minister should be out the door GETTY IMAGES The former Prime Minister hated the nickname “Margaret Thatcher, Milk Snatcher”. The tabloid press adopted the condescending diminutive Maggie and it stuck until she died in 2013. Baroness Thatcher hated it. She was a breakthrough female politician, but couldn’t escape from patronising, gender politics. Like Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s critics have adopted an over-familiar cutesy name. But, just like when a stranger uses the endearments love or darlin’, it’s not meant with affection. Play Video PARLIAMENT TV Judith Collins and Jacinda Ardern's final showdown in Parliament of the term. Last week “Cindy” was trending on Twitter, a backlash against confused Government messaging on Covid-19 testing. It crops up on comment boards and social media, even Judith Collins’ husband David Wong-Tung shared a Facebook meme that suggests we “Unite against CINDY-20”. Its use is condescending and paternalistic. Ardern’s friends and family do not call her Cindy. In fact, she’d rather no-one did, telling the New York Times in 2018: “I just hate the nickname Cindy.” I hate it too, because it is a putdown that is meant to belittle her. MORE FROM ANDREA VANCE • SENIOR JOURNALIST andrea.vance@stuff.co.nz Plenty of male politicians are known by their first name: Winston, Donald, Boris. There’s nothing sexist in calling a female politician by her first name: Jacinda is unique and memorable. For Hillary, there was another Clinton who had served in high office and her Christian name avoided confusion. Helen is all too common – she was known to the public as Clark. Or by her full name, sometimes Aunty Helen. But changing (to the maddening Jacinta), or shortening someone’s name is not inconsequential. It sends a message of disrespect. Sir John Key was never Johnnie. Sir Bill English was not called Billie. No Jimmy Bolger, Robbie Muldoon or Mikey Moore? So why do Ardern’s critics use this infantilisation? Because no matter what she achieves, handles, or leads, they want to sneer and remind her that she is still just a girl. It could be worse: harassment, threats and violent rhetoric against women in leadership positions is all too common. (And she gets those too.) But most women – and it happens most often to women by men – hate pet names from outside their friends or family. The informality signals that a woman’s name, her title and therefore her credentials are not meaningful. This shorthand appellation is an insidious way of diminishing Ardern’s power and agency. But the misogynistic jab says more about the (mostly) men using it, than it does Ardern. If sexist name-calling is all they’ve got, then she has already won the argument. Criticism, voicing your opinion, even disliking a leader is all fine, and welcome, in a healthy political system. But don’t scold and derogate the prime minister like she’s a little girl. If you think she’s wrong, hold her failures to the same standards as men. And her name isn’t difficult: try to get it right. You might find people take you more seriously.

  16. If you think Saturday is huge, Sunday is going to be huger (if that's a word). The second day of the Irish Champions Weekend and Arc Trials Day mean six Group 1 races on a stellar afternoon at The Curragh and Longchamp respectively. Kicking off in Ireland with what is effectively the climax of the Irish Flat Racing season at The Curragh with four Group 1 races but these are preceded by the Group 2 Blandford for the fillies and mares over 2000m. MAGIC WAND has mixed it with the very best including running fourth in the Eclipse and fifth in the Nassau at Goodwood. On her last run in Group 2 company she romped home by four and a half lengths in the Lanwades over 1600m. Back at Group 2 and with no boys present, she must have a huge chance. CAYENNE PEPPER was second in the Irish Oaks but was beaten in a Group 3 at Cork last time so I'm not sure. While MAGIC WAND is a fine older filly, ONE VOICE is the answer from the classic generation. She finished in front of MAGIC WAND in the Nassau and was seven lengths behind LOVE in the Yorkshire Oaks. That's not bad form and the drop back in trip will suit so she is my selection. The Group 1 Championship races kick off with the Flying Five over 1000m. I think this is a sub-standard Group 1 in all honesty. GLASS SLIPPERS won the Abbaye last year and has twice run behind the mighty BATTAASH and on a line through that star holds A'ALI but not by much. A'ALI was fourth in the Nunthorpe but QUE AMORO was second and if that form is accurate, should take all the beating in this. MAKE A CHALLENGE is probably the best of the locals but was beaten by A'ALI back in July and hasn't mixed it at the very highest level unlike some of these. I quite like A'ALI back on a course where he has scored before, but GLASS SLIPPERS is coming to a peak nicely (the Abbaye the intended target I would imagine). The first of the two juvenile championship races is the Moyglare over 1400m for the fillies. PRETTY GORGEOUS beat SHALE in the Debutante last time and I see no reason why it should be any different this time. The once-raced AUNTY BRIDY is possible but this looks a modest renewal. The colts go in the National and this looks a fascinating race with Phoenix winner LUCKY VEGA moving up 200m and taking on the likes of BATTLEGROUND and MASTER OF THE SEAS coming over to represent Godolphin from the Charlie Appleby stable. These three dominate the race and are possibly the three bet juvenile colts seen out so far. LUCKY VEGA did it really well over 1200m last time and you wouldn’t have any doubt about the extra 200m. In time, I suspect, the other two may go over further but I was very taken with MASTER OF THE SEAS at Newmarket in the Superlative and he has an obvious chance. BATTLEGROUND won the Chesham at Ascot and followed up in the Vintage at Goodwood. I come back to Group 1 form in a Group 1 race and for that reason I’ll go with LUCKY VEGA but it’s not an easy call. Finally, the Irish St Leger over 2800m. TWILIGHT PAYMENT had former Irish Derby winner SOVEREIGN in third when winning the Vintage Crop (BARBADOS second) and then won the Group 2 Curragh Cup by eight lengths. He’s 40/1 for the Melbourne Cup and a win here will help get him a run at Flemington. FUJAIRA PRINCE won a big 2400m handicap at Royal Ascot and followed up in the ultra-competitive Ebor. This is a logical step and he makes plenty of appeal for all this is a better race in terms of quality. SEARCH FOR A SONG won this last year and showed signs of a return to form behind MAGICAL last time. She’s no back number and might be the each way bet of the race at 8/1. Meanwhile, at Longchamp it’s Arc Trials day which this year has the added spice of the Grand Prix de Paris which is normally held in mid-July but has been rescheduled this year to be the 3-y-o trial instead of the Niel. The Foy remains the 2400m trial for the older colts. Only six run, but it’s a class field. WAY TO PARIS beat NAGANO GOLD in the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud and there won’t be much between them but into the mix comes a former English Derby winner in ANTHONY VAN DYCK and the triple Ascot Gold Cup winner STRADIVARIUS. Both were behind GHAIYYATH in the Coronation Cup earlier in the season but that was no disgrace, and both come here with real claims against the locals. My only thought is whether the French racing style will suit either horse particularly STRADIVARIUS who would be more effective over 4000m than 2400m. The two Group 1 races are also over 2400m and as said the Grand Prix de Paris is effectively the Arc trial for the 3-y-o colts and sees the long-awaited return of English Derby winner SERPENTINE. Debate has raged all summer as to whether his Epsom win was real or a fluke but there’s no doubt, he was given a superb ride, handled the undulations well and was clearly best on the day. On Epsom form he has nothing to fear from HIGHLAND CHIEF, MOGUL and ENGLISH KING, all of whom were held in the Gordon at Goodwood. The main local challenge is PORT GUILLAUME, who I believe has been sold to Australian interests. The 2000m of the Jockey Club was too sharp and he looked much better in the Hocquart, which is decent form. If SERPENTINE is the real deal, 7/4 is free money but I need to be convinced and would rather be on PORT GUILLAUME. The Vermeille is the Group 1 Arc Trial for the fillies and given we have ENABLE and LOVE in the Arc line-up, it’ll take a good one to crash the party but there’s a view in France RAABIHAH is something special. Ten go to post with four older fillies taking on six from the classic generation. RAABIHAH was beaten half a length when fourth in a bunch finish for the Diane and followed up well at Deauville but EVEN SO did nothing wrong winning the Irish Oaks and on a line through CAYENNE PEPPER, there’s little between her and TARNAWA while English raider DAME MAILLOT was a close third in the Preis von Europa last time and that gives her an each way chance. Speaking of the Preis von Europa, the winner, DONJAN, heads the market for the principal German trial for the Arc, the Grosser Preis von Baden. He didn’t have much to spare over KASPAR with BARNEY ROY fourth. The one that catches my eye is the German Derby runner up TORQUATOR TASSO who was a big price that day but ran a blinder on only his second outing and has huge scope for improvement.

Thanks @Berri , he's great isn't he? There's a few good ones out there who appear to have a common sense approach to life & spend time outside enjoying life, fresh air, healthy living. I see they have promoted the lead Swedish Epidemiologist in WHO. He's got a classic European approach to diseases and worked on the ground with Ebola which as we intelligent ones know isn't in NZ & tuberculosis is pretty much under control. When WHO was set up it was mainly sincere European people leading it & working there, sadly since Margaret Chan had a role & it became imbalanced on the Committee & seller of snake oil Gates expanded his empires it's veered off the track with hands on approach to primarily be Big Pharma. It's criminal not one of those who triggered a World Wide Civil emergency looked at including the destruction of the wider needs of Society which are all cogs of Public Health. It's interesting reading back through the earlier articles from January , who has been tied in with who, Ferguson influences including in China - one Virologist there quoted he was really scared abt loss of lives when he saw the figures, the modelling & methodologies as they are way off the beaten track. It's shameful of those Gvt Advisors misleading Politicians & throwing them under trains as those things have a snowball effect. You may like to also look up Azra GHANI, born to Iranian parents & her close long term relationship with Neil Ferguson. Her father is a Labour Party MP in the UK...we must never overlook the impacts on families who may have been caught up in Iran v Iraq war alas they must be fully aware that whatever this virus is, it's not a war, nor should such a Public Health matter be addressed as a Civil Emergency where countries are placed in locked down in the way we have been bc of ones own life experience.

  37. Wrong Uriah I have no problem with tribal hierarchy the problem lies at the feet of the labour government that established the gravy train , it was established with a socialist agenda an agenda that has entrenched a poor future for those on the bottom rung and provided an excellent income for those on the top of the heap . In 50 years time those who have gained no benefit from settlements will still be less well of if they are counting on settlements to improve their lives , this gravy train has been in action for 30 odd years and those on the bottom rung are worse off today than ever before . The labour socialist designed treaty settlement plan is a failure for most even though 100s of millions have been paid out to tribes and lawyers .

  38. Ok here's an inconvenient truth proven over the decades and complained about by Maori leaders , a disproportionate % of prisoners are Maori and it's true so why ? , it's long been known that if you remove Maori from the stats NZ imprisonment rates are low . Reasons , for starters more are encouraged to identify as Maori even though many are Maori impersonators , classic example Anika Moa , did the DNA and shock horror barely any Maori blood , I THINK it was west African . The lefty's thrive on splitting the population that's why labour invented the grievance industry , The treaty , it created a European system to administrate the so called partnership (no partnership mentioned in treaty) . The result is tribal hierarchy combined with lawyers , classic haves and have knots , the less well off are never going anywhere , traditional tribal values will ensure the less well off will always be less well off , they have no future under this system so drugs , crime , METHAMPHETAMINE , methamphetamine trading , imprisonment . There you go Uriah and Jack that's what's happening , the treaty hierarchy is using the average Maori , give them a grass skirt and poke your tongue out , do as you are told and be happy it's all about tribal ownership which condemns many to a life of no OWNERSHIP , no long term WEALTH building but that's how labour likes it . Thank goodness NZ has plenty of Maori who are just getting on with life and just like the rest of us doing the best we can . DON'T IGNORE THE IMPORTANCE OF INDIVIDUAL OWNERSHIP and long term steady wealth building , something not recognised or encouraged by the treaty . More wellbeing , more family stability , more wealth creation = less drugs less imprisonment . HOPE I haven't upset to many but that's how I see it .
