    Bloody hell Phil

Dear Phil Apparently you and the HRNZ Board had a "considered and focused discussion" as regards Forbury You then had a "review, discussion and deliberation" about Timaru This was followed by a "lively and considered discussion" about Gore and Wyndham You weren't finished, you then had a "solid review and discussion" about Roxburgh Roxburgh were lucky, they then joined Tuapeka and this time you had a "thorough review and discussion" In the same vein, you had a "detailed discussion" about Geraldine You then "deliberated and discussed" Westport and Reefton Another "lively discussion" was then held about Nelson and Marlborough For Manawatu you "reflected', you "had thoughts" and you again "reviewed and discussed things" and finally you signalled you would have more "rigouress thoughts" Once you finally finished your "lively, solid, detailed and deliberative discussions" you then summarised with "a longer term", a supportive stance", an "accelerated pace', a "catalyst" was factored in, you had "overviewed initiatives", a "regeneration journey" and a "future footprint" FFS, you might win the "JA" Award for the many different descriptions of the way that you had discussions but is there any need to say it? Yours and the Board's job is to have discussions and make determinations, just do it without having to describe them as different in each case. It is PC rubbish Mikie

  4. There's something you don't read often. Your name and intelligence in the same sentence. Mind you, you write it. And it's said self praise is no praise at all. That's the problem with your "research". One dodgy trial, without peer review, and you and your crew think the cure is there. And when, exactly, is "soon". You've been spouting things are gonna happen "soon" for years. It's funny how for such a self-professed "thinker" you rely on other people as the source of ALL of you thoughts....

Pretty sure rules state you must swap like with like regarding riders . Saying that the rule is easily minipulated.

  9. Why not? They expect Avondale to sell up and add the money to the common pool. What’s the difference between the two clubs? One rule for one and one rule for the other I would say.

Empireofdragon her first foal was unraced at Ballydoyle , sold as part of job lot of 20 odd to Yulong couple years back and re named Yulong Dragon . Hayes couldn't get him going and now on sold and back to Empireofdragon in country Victoria. Was in the other day but scratched so near a start if he hasn't gone round this week already . His year younger sibling a filly snagged a win in Ireland in tin pot race . Saw Atlantic Jewel up close winning the Caulfield Stakes , floated past , poetry in motion . Fantastic filly .

HRNZ are probably even worse IMHO. Look at the Forbury debacle, was going to be legal action which they probably would have won after HRNZ failed to consult them and thus failed to carry out correct processes. You will all see how bad they all are when they have to decide whose getting what on 1 August Thats when Racing NZ board have to decide whose going to get what share of NZTAB distribution, the latter having no say on that matter. 19. Time for a catchup . Controversial filmmaker Michael Moore's had his latest documentary production taken off YouTube . The film claims green energy sources such as wind and solar power can't be sustained forever. Before it was taken down, the film had had more than 8 million views. “This attempt to take down our film and prevent the public from seeing it is a blatant act of censorship by political critics of Planet of the Humans,” he wrote. This is just another attempt by the film’s opponents to subvert the right to free speech. And another having doubts , Perhaps this could be displayed in schools , it might help ease the mental abuse our young people are being subjected to . Michael Shellenberger is an environmentalist who has been named by Time as a Hero of the Environment and won a Green Book Award. On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologise for the climate scare we created over the past 30 years. Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world. It’s not even our most serious environmental problem. I have been a climate activist for 20 years and an environmentalist for 30. But as an energy expert asked by the US congress to provide objective testimony, and invited by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to serve as a reviewer of its next assessment report, I feel an obligation to apologise for how badly we environmentalists have misled the public.

I agree, but when you have people in positions of influence paying silly money at yearling sales they have to justify these actions in some way and the main focus point is stakes. Unfortunately none of them really care about the general health of the industry, they do however care about their own. The pie has never really been. the problem as I see it, it's always been the slicing up of the pie that's the issue,of course now the industry wants the small guys knife, fork & napkin to sell to get a temporary bigger pie. The industry will find a sustainable place if participants are willing to accept reality and leaders stop selling them a BS narrative, that however won't happen and it will continue down the gurgler.

No. In days gone by there was a deduction on every dollar put through the tote that went into the amenities account. The money from that account, while collected from betting on racemeetings at all venues, was excluded from being spent venues such Thames and Dargaville under the funding policies devised by those administering the amenities account e.g. NZ Racing Authority.

  31. Back in business Racing Industry Transition Agency Releases Final 2020/21 Racing Calendar. Seven Meetings For Ruakaka - One In 2020 And Six In 2021. RITA has made significant changes to its draft 2020/21 racing calendar by re-instating dates for Avondale (5), Forbury Park Trotting Club (10) and a raft of other harness dates such as Manawatu, Gore, Tauherenikau, Otaki, Roxburgh, Blenheim, Timaru, Marlborough and West Coast. Race Meeting Allocation for Ruakaka Racecourse (full calendar below as PDF) Wednesday 26th August 2020 - Thursday 7th Janaury 2021 - Wednesday 14th April & 5th May. Saturdays 19th June; 3rd & 17th July. The Club is very disappointed not to be allocated a meeting that could facilitate the successful event of the last two years -" Christmas at the Races" but pleased to see a return to monthly racing during the autumn and winter of 2021. With sixty five horses in work at the track the local owners and trainers will be very pleased to see the August 26th mid-week meeting and the return of dates for Avondale, although having the first one (2nd September) only a week after Ruakaka will have them baffled. RITA Communication To Racing Clubs 3rd July 2020. The racing calendar for the 2020/21 season has been approved by the Racing Industry Transition Agency Dates Committee following consultation with the three racing codes, all racing clubs and recognised industry organisations (RIOs). The Committee is grateful for the constructive and comprehensive feedback received during the consultation process. In approving the calendar, the Committee recognised the unprecedented pressure on the industry arising from the impact and continued uncertainty of COVID-19 and a determination to maximise revenue and reduce costs across the industry that are in the best interest of all of racing. The key changes in the final calendar are: Conditional reintroduction of five dates to Avondale Jockey Club and ten dates for the Forbury Park TC Reintroduction of harness dates at Manawatu Raceway, Gore, Tauherenikau, Otaki, Roxburgh, Blenheim and Timaru venues Venues that were scheduled in the draft to have no racing but now will are; Avondale, Forbury, Blenheim and Roxburgh Marlborough (January) and West Coast (March) Harness dates reinstated Increased dual code meetings in Central Districts, Otago and Southland regions Increased number of Thoroughbred meetings from 273 to 278 and Harness meetings from 246 to 257 (including dual meetings). Greyhound meetings increased from 459 to 478 with new six race programs at both Forbury and Ascot Park. In finalising the calendar, the Dates Committee recognised the development of regional plans for domestic racing would not only provide certainty for clubs and venues, but also help strengthen the viability of the industry in New Zealand’s regions. The Committee is supportive of proposals for clubs and codes to collaborate and develop plans for the future conduct of racing at a regional level. Licences allocated to the Avondale JC and Forbury Park TC are conditional on regional reviews of racing in the Auckland and Dunedin districts being completed by 31 December 2020. This will allow the recommended outcomes of these reviews to be considered prior to the allocation of dates for the 21/22 season. RITA will also engage with the codes to ensure greater alignment with their future venue plans, including encouraging regional reviews to be undertaken in the Tasman, Mid Canterbury to North Otago and Southland regions. The calendar is also based on delivery racing in an efficient manner to maximise returns to the industry. Changes to the draft calendar allow for increased dual code race meetings, particularly with Central Districts harness and Otago/Southland greyhound meetings. This approach will see cohesive regional strategies determined for the industry’s future venue footprint. Engagement with the industry through the dates consultation process has highlighted an appreciation of the need for change, however feedback was consistent on the desire for this to be addressed in a collaborative manner at a regional level. While the Committee agrees with the widely held view the number of racing venues in New Zealand is unsustainable, in determining the racing dates for 2020/21, it has made no determination on the future of venues. This is a matter for clubs and racing codes and is now subject to a clear legislative process as part of the Racing Industry Act 2020 and aligned with the intent of the new Code-led model established by the Act.

La Fontaine (La Fonteine) is a County in Louisiana , in that County is a township called New Iberia where in 1872 Henry Newton Pharr was born . You've guessed it Henry Newton Pharr grew up to head the Louisiana -Rio Grande Canal Company . He built a canal near New Iberia called Pharr Canal where now it's pretty good for fishing by all accounts . Straight up legit name in honour of Mr Pharr .

Interesting topic Chevy. I have changed my mind a few times over the last few months about how many mares I will send to stud this year. Out of a possible nine I will send only three and they will go to proven sires that are doing well in Australia. It is a bit soul destroying for breeders to see progeny being sold on gavelhouse for no money by sires with a 10k plus service fee. No doubt there will be a shortage in the foal crop down the track, so I have decided to send a few and lower the risk at least by going to ones Aussie buyers rate.

ffs.. running her now is ruining her. She doesn't need to prove she can gallop. She needs to be rested not raced 'one or two more starts' on firmer and faster tracks. Makes me sick watching them ruining a potential Oaks contender by Reliable Man racing for peanuts on a Good 3 track.

From the Barry Lichter files When Forbury CEO Della Henderson took the club’s case to Parliament last week and met with numerous MPs, it was universally accepted there was a lack of due process and transparency with the way HRNZ had acted. It is understood HRNZ never met with club officials and came to its decision after only two phone calls. In a statement, acting CEO Phil Holden expressed his surprise that RITA had over-ruled its recommendations on Forbury and Timaru, which also was granted three meetings. Greg
